Soooooo I spilled prosecco on my MacBook (•᷄- •᷅ ‘) It still turns on, but it’s not charging, last time I look it was at 8%. ANYWAYS…. I really want to go in and try to save everything I can. Mostly my sims cc but also like the art I’ve made lol. If anyone know computer and could maybe help figure out how to fix it I will kiss you and smooch you (˵˘ ³˘˵)

If anyone here knows a lot about laptops, pls help. I need a new one, and I am overwhelmed with all the options. I'll put some info under the cut.

Any recommendations would be so appreciated!

Ideal price would be around the $800-1000 (AUD) mark, but if it will make a difference, I can find another $200

I use my laptop for a lot of word processing, internet browsing, uploading and downloading media, image and video creation using Canvas online, and watching media

I use it mostly at home, but do take it to work sometimes, so nothing too heavy

A solid amount of storage, although I back up everything on external hard drives, so that one isn't a dealbreaker

The keyboard needs to be backlit and not too loud

Trackpad buttons also not too loud; the ASUS I have now is so loud when I click anything, I have had to train myself to double tap on the pad part instead

14" or thereabouts

I don't need a touch screen or 2-in-1 or anything else specific, but I'm also not avoiding features either

I tend to keep my laptops for years until they pretty much die on me, so something quality

Is there a reason my ASUS laptop I got on Christmas is slow as shit despite frequently updating it??

I really want to love this laptop. It was a gift and I really needed it because my laptop is literally coming apart at the seams but GOD it's hard not to hate it. Is this just a shit brand??

i'm gonna have a crisis. my laptop just fell like 10cm which might have caused the issue or bc it overheated but.

the screen is black. the little light on the side says it's on and it's definitely charged, but the screen is just black, no response. idk what to do.

does anyone know how i can fix it or what the problem might be??
