THE LIO DE GALON IS COMPLETE
HOLY shit this build. It genuinely felt like they didn't test anything with this guy before shipping him out. I, as a Promare and gunpla fanatic, preordered him and I have been a good boy waiting patiently. I was awarded with pieces barely fitting together or not at all, stickers out the ass [fuck stickers but holy assfuck] and design inconsistencies between the key art that's plastered everywhere and the guide [moreso seen in the stickers section]
BUT I persevered and am sooooooo happy with the resulllllltttts. I can't decide if he should go to my Promare shelf or with the gunplas, but either way I'm getting him some blacklights to turn on and off as I please. I may also do something with the horns, but I might just give them a gentle wash of the blue paint.
Paints used were all DecoArt Blacklight Neon paints. I tried a few pigments and paints, and these won out for the brightest, but oh my god they were also the thinnest. Had to thicken them with titanium white as a base and paint over that with pure neon paint to re-brighten them.
Anyway, happy pride month to these gay boys.

Photoset of HMM Storm Sworder ‘VX-124 FIGHTERTOWN’ (aka GUNFIGHTERS/TOPGUN)
So as my modelling sideblog suggests, I really like F-14 tomcats (and furry tomcats too). I knew as soon as I saw the HMM Storm Sworder on Kotobukiya’s blog back in 2016 that I had to do a topgun themed Storm Sworder.
It took me a while to hunt down the right decals, which are for squadron VX-124 who actually were squadron that ran the (real) TOPGUN program out of Miramar, San Diego. I don’t know if number 451 was in the movie off the top of my head, but it does also reference a classic novel and I’m all for that too.
This kit was also a bit of a learning experience, both with waterslide decals and a type of modelling paint known as game ink. As the name implies, its more of a tint than a solid colour and requires very patient application. the result however, is some pretty cool weathering techniques. its tedious at times but I love the end result so imo, it was worth it.
I was going for a ‘old warbird thats still serving as a training craft for new zoid pilots’ rather than battle damage or rust.
451′s an old bird but as reliable as they come.
As far as the kit goes, it’s a delightful build and imo, its very well designed with symmetry, especially the wings. Reminded me a lot of model planes vs gunpla. I liked it so much, I went ahead and grabbed the ‘Ala Barone’ version for another USN carrier jet livery that I love. the next one is a bit flashier ;)
I like this dress.

30MM Ground Assault Team
Remember when I said I was going to post a bunch of stuff but then never did? Neither do I.
Okay, so I’m planning to paint the MG Char Zaku II 2.0, but I have no idea where to start, does anyone have a list of beginner items I should really get to prepare to paint? (I’m looking to hand paint and use plastic friendly spray paint)

This took way longer than it should’ve.
