The silhouette of Hogwarts is finally taking shape! My challenge is to launch this world by May 5th, and my goal is to make it the most faithful version of Hogwarts ever seen in The Sims 3. 🧙♂️ What do you think we can't leave out?

Vintage Champs les Sims - Version 2
For this 2nd version, there is a bit more cc (included in the zip file). Now, I did go a taaad overboard with all the deco and sculpting and pathways etc. So in the case you’d just be interested in having the main issue (the non routable stretch of road) corrected, I’ve kept the 1st version of my edit available. I’ve just corrected that + some floating trees and added a river wall where I have my factory and nothing more (but I had to restrain myself ;-P). Meaning the train is the orignal one, the cc the same as the original edit, etc. That corrected version is now the one linked on the original page - HERE
Vintage Champs les Sims - Version 2 is still an EMPTY edit of EA's Champs les Sims. There are quite a few changes compared to the first version but, except for one stretch of road, most of them are outside the main village. I opened new pathways, added weird trees, sculpted the terrain a bit differently changed a road texture, etc.. (for more details see that post. )
Special page with aaaaallll the links to the downloads - HERE
A quick tour in video - HERE
NOT INCLUDED with the download:
- @potato-ballad-sims ‘s train. Highly recommended as I lowered the original train so this one wouldnt float. 2 different color, pick your flavor - HERE
- @potato-ballad-sims ‘s terrain fix (replace blocky trees, possibility to ‘erase the Eiffel Tower) - HERE
And last but not least: many many thanks to @simsmidgen and @samkat10423 for the playtesting!! They did find thiiiings!
Now trying to leave that world in CAW the heck alone (I keep adding things, gaaaah!) and am off to focus on my enchanted forest world *chugga*
Magma Biome
More practice, this time a magma biome! <3
10 days building Hogwarts! We have 12 days ahead of us to complete this map.
I'm working on the other side of Hogwarts this week, building places like Hogsmeade station and some small residential areas around it. While designing the harbor where students catch the boats to Hogwarts, I thought the place deserved a shot so I could show how everything is coming along.
Another panoramic view of Hogwarts.
Separated by six working days
Yesterday I spent 10 hours racking my brain to figure out how to build curved ornamental pieces, but it definitely helps me give Hogwarts a new look! I thought rocks would be my biggest learning experience here, but it seems Hogwarts had more in store for me.
There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm happy with the progress so far. From today onwards, building new assets and adjusting them for curved walls will be a considerably faster process. I've managed to update my work so that I can generate a modular piece in less than 10 minutes regardless of the shape. And honestly, that's priceless!
You can check out more of my challenges and discoveries in my Development Diary and also through my course, The Art of Creating Worlds, where I've shared everything I'm learning and how I make decisions that help me work faster.
For those who love building, my EMPTY version of Willowridge is now also available! Discover more and see every detail up close in this post.
