when jack suggested a home-cooked meal, zeus had been more than a little nervous. it was no secret on olympus that putting zeus anywhere near a kitchen knife or hot oven was a disaster waiting to happen. it wasn't for lack of trying, either - zeus had attempted, in many unfortunate situations, to try and learn to cook, but it had all been for naught. it was safer for everyone if he stayed away.

so naturally, the thought of being asked to cook with jack was nightmare worthy, and he spent the entire evening sweating a little more than usual. it was only when jack placed a hand on his shoulder, insisting he remain seated, and got up to cook that zeus allowed himself room to breathe.

crisis averted, for now.

and the meal was incredible - something that would have been lost if zeus had gotten involved. the king's mouth watered at the smell, and he could hardly contain his excitement as they ate.

"you're a genius in the kitchen, clearly." zeus grinned as he spoke, reaching across the table to give jack's wrist a squeeze. "dishes are mine tonight - as a thank you."
