I’m not working on anything else cosplay-related (other than browsing Arda for 1990 PotO Christine wig possibilities), so here are my current #crossstitch projects (that I’ve not worked on for months)! (Floss is DMC) 💖🧵 {crossposted} * #Hufflepuff crest for my #HelgaHufflepuffcosplay (pattern by #CuteCrossStitchShop on Etsy). I would like to finish this before I wear it to another event! I'm experimenting with colours: the pale grey on the face (& partial stripe) is from the pattern, but I might use ecru (which would match the oatmeal Aida fabric) instead for more contrast? I’ll be doing the shield portion eventually. 🦡 * Unicorn (pattern from @dmc_embroidery; needleminder by @wonderlandstitcher / #MadforMinders on Etsy): I started this for a @gish item (box of happy things) & I fear I may have cut the fabric too small to have any hope of framing this. I changed the colour scheme as the pattern was originally the 🦄 emoji! The hearts & sparkles were different colours in the pattern, so I changed them as well—now they’re closer to my beloved sparkle hearts! 💖✨ * Fix it with Fanfiction: how could I resist this pattern from @dirtycussstitch?? I’m almost done with the text & haven’t *quite* decided whether I’m going to use the original border or one from another #DirtyCussStitch pattern. 💖 Future projects (most of which I’ll need to pattern myself which is scary & might not happen for a while as I’ve never patterned before? How do I decide on fonts, colours, borders? Halp?): * #CozyCafeClub from @thefrostedpumpkinstitchery (so adorable!) I bought the kit & haven’t started yet.☕️ * You are enough: from the @sleepingatlast song / @officialsierraboggess’ mantra (maybe if I stitch it I’ll believe it?). I’ll use another Dirty Cuss Stitch border for this. * Nine: I really want to stitch part of the last verse of “Nine” from Sleeping at Last’s Enneagram album. Patterning this will be tricky. BLACK <s>the night that ends at last</s> in my #cosplayrainbow : Asexual Flag Edition is #HelgaHufflepuff! 🌈💖 Everyone is welcome at Hogwarts. I’m considering doing a different cross stitch piece for this cosplay if I can find patterns for a flower representing each Founder & a heraldic/medieval-looking H--& maybe include the badger motif as a necklace instead? (If I can settle on a vaguely handwavey time period, haha.) Or, possibly add a corset-esque bodice in the same black floral fabric as the contrast bits? Any thoughts? (This will be an actual poll at some point.) 💖🌿🏰✨ Ace culture/meme thing: DRAGONS. 🐉 (I was highly disappointed in my group's first Pathfinder campaign that the dragons we encountered were always Evil. (One of my headcanons is that Helga definitely would allow non-magical people to take sanctuary at the castle as well, rather like those seeking sanctuary at churches/cathedrals/places of worship.) Happy (slightly belated because this will be posted after midnight) #HufflepuffPrideDay! 💖✨ I completely forgot it was today, but I ended up wearing my yellow tee & Hogwarts lounge pants anyway? (To be fair, I've pretty much been living in my Hogwarts lounge pants lately. I've worn this unfinished to several events, but I would like to finish it before my next one! If the pale stripey bits look a bit odd, it's because I'm experimenting with floss colours.
