I'm taking antidepressants right now and when I'm not doing something I just feel numb and stare off into space. I feel like that weirdness would be kind of like an omega/alpha going on or coming off blockers since it messes up their hormones.

I like to think that suppressants just...skip over the heat/rut, the hormones that trigger it are never produced. So missing a heat or rut can feel extremely disorienting or cause mood swings while your instincts try to adjust.
And for individuals on suppressants for a long time, they can feel the numbness/apathy associated with certain meds because, well, heats/ruts are important for emotional regulation.
Thats why many alphas and omegas in the military opt to medically change to betas. There's still a significant adjustment period while instincts are sorted out and social expectations change, but it's far easier to handle in the long run and makes more efficient operatives.
