i have such huge distrust for showrunners bc of shows like sherlock and supernatural that two characters of the same gender could be making out and i'd still be like "so they're like. besties who kiss each other but not in a gay way right"

like bc of the next to zero (good) queer rep i had growing up it's really hard for me to actually acknowledge canonically queer characters and relationships as being canon rather than fanon and it sucks so much

i still forget korra and asami are literally dating bc ive been queerbaited so fucking much my brain automatically goes into "gal pals" territory

like i swear this generation of queer kids has no idea how well it has it wrt good queer rep, both in kids media and otherwise, and it's so so great to see but... i wish i'd grown up with that too, not having to cling to every single bit of queercoding and subtext only to be extremely rudely dismissed by the showrunners, writers, actors and everyone else involved as "looking into it too much" or "delusional"

Tends to happen when cast members make fun of part of the fandom, you're going to break-up your lone LGBTQ relationship, and you insist upon keeping a toxic man-child character on. Just saying...

When the network makes the gay ship semi canon to avoid queerbaiting label, but immediately kills the gay character and erases him from the rest of the story.

It amazes me how many times i receive comments on my gifsets or videos from people outside spn fandom where they express their interest and love for Dean and Cas story, it’s heartwarming but also extremely upsetting. Destiel is an otherwordly beautiful love story that should be the envy of other shows, it’s so obviously romantic and canon, we should not need to fight tooth and nail just for their relationship to be recognized as more than a friendship. I’m so mad i wanna punch someone (spn’ tptb preferably) Its been a decade, we are in 2018, make it canon you regressive dinosaurs !
