#WeWearRedOnThursdays #CWAStrong #UnionStrong #MissouriStateWorkersUnion #CWANextGen #CBTUUnder40Leaders #CBTU #APRI Movement rant…. Today i realized how much we need more spiritual and holistic practices in movement work, such as healing circles. We grind hard and focus on day to day life that this concrete jungle devours us mentally, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. Not everyone has mastered the art of decluttering their minds. This takes consistent mental exercise. Whether you do movement work or not, please take time to care for your mental health and check on your loved one’s mental health. not everyone wears their struggles on their sleeves. we have to keep this in mind as we fight for a sustainable future for ourselves and our youth. “It is our duty to fight for our freedom…” https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci0-qDGLfX0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
#WeWearRedOnThursdays #CWAStrong #CWA #CWANextGen #UnionStrong #CBTU #CBTUUnder40Leaders #MissouriStateWorkersUnion #LaborForBlackLives #WorkingWhileBlack #BlackWorkersRising The Labor Movement, the right to negotiate for better working conditions, and organizing a union in your work place has always went hand and hand with the movement for black lives. History has proven this again and again, most recently with the formation of the Amazon Labor Union and Starbucks Workers United. We all know, or should know the story about the Brotherhood of Pullman Porters Union, from back in the day. Black workers still make up a low percentage of union membership, nationwide. Yet, Black and minority workers are the people on the frontlines and suffering the most. These corporations, conservative union busting organizations, and corrupt politicians continue to play cat and mouse with our survival! It’s not only well-being any longer, but our families survival. We must continue to show up in the streets, at politicians houses and workplaces, at the bargaining table, these shareholders meetings, these union meetings and most of all to the polls for the mid-term and general elections! We have to get our people educated, registered and to the polls by any means necessary! Keep organizing, keep fighting, join a union and bring someone with you, stand up for a decent paying, safe and fair workplace! in Solidarity! 💪🏾✊🏾 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cde36WEM2SGDTblobNNEI5ywUtc4if_6ZQzmBc0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
#WeWearRedOnThursdays #MissouriStateWorkersUnion #CWAStrong #CWALocal6355 #CWANextGen #CBTU #APRI #CBTUUnder40Leaders #WorkingWhileBlack #BlackWorkersRising #BlackLivesMatterToLabor After talking with legislators and state leadership i’m reminded why i’m in this fight. Very few are truly connected to the plight of working families and people living in poverty. then we question why people don’t vote. People are starting to see through the lies because they live the struggle every day! These laws and policies being used to control us become detrimental when you make decisions without input from the people doing the work or who are struggling to survive. Whether it’s women’s right to choose, the right to have a union and bargain for better working conditions to voting rights and the right to change the laws by initiative petitions, there are under constant attacks that go against the interests of working families by people in power. with that mouthful said, we have to use our vote for these midterms elections to show the people we pay with our hard earned tax dollars, that they will not continue to pull the wool over our eyes. https://www.instagram.com/p/CdMuyqJM4iKGIHwnDIOFF-V-bcrIlrXslckkDs0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
#CWARedThursdays #WeWearRedOnThursdays #CWAStrong #CWANextGen #CBTU #CBTUUnder40Leaders #MOStateWorkersUnion This is the first week of legislative sessions. I’m curious as to what these so called servants of the people have up their sleeves to harm the people they serve. First thing’s first, Missouri State Workers who are “frontline” “essential” workers deserve a pay raise and safety protections in the workplace! Call and/or email your Missouri state legislators and demand that they approve pay raises for all State and Public Workers! #UnitedWeBargainDividedWeBeg https://www.instagram.com/p/CYaDt6KLqulJyZA3UHWVYkPbv1fhV50T767bAs0/?utm_medium=tumblr
#WeWearRedOnThursdays #CWAThursdays #MOStateWorkersUnion #CWA #CWANextGen #ProtectStateWorkers #GerryHorgan #CWAStrong #UnionStrong #SolidarityForever We’re still fighting for an adequate living wage, worker safety and health protections, PPE, retirement/pension, a fair contract, and some more. Stand in solidarity with us as we fight to secure a better future for all State & Public Workers and our families! YOU put the U in UNION! ✊🏾💪🏾 https://www.instagram.com/p/CW_5GyArL30JGuc1tph0tvC4lapb3pTOCcLH4I0/?utm_medium=tumblr
#WeWearRedOnThursdays #CWARedThursdays #CWANextGen #StoryOfSelf #ThrowbakkThursdayz this the moment that started it all. i was speaking at the National AFL-CIO commission of diversity and inclusion on how labor lacked the empathy and slow to act when it come to fighting for issues that affected black communities. at this time it was the murder of Michael Brown, police brutality and the Ferguson Uprisings. since i’ve still been on the frontlines, speaking for my people, holding those elected to represent our best interests accountable, represented union members treated unfair by management, participated in numerous labor and community campaigns, had conversations with some of the poorest and wealthiest people, made some of the dopest friends and family, researching what black liberation and black power look like in these current times, researching my roots, incorporating my ancestors in the work i do, and the list goes on… with that said it’s more work to do and more minds to liberate. #CBTUUnder40Leaders #CBTU #JWJ #CWA #CWANextGen #WorkingWhileBlack #BlackWorkersRising https://www.instagram.com/p/CVl1eMnPwGaLgaCLvpcBzAlZlDBUvmxNxcGgsM0/?utm_medium=tumblr
