‘’Are you really wearing that?’’
@challengingwords prompt; I'm a little anxious because it’s the first time I’m doing this challenge, but I hope it turned out well!
Pairing: Haechan x reader
Genre: fluff
Words: 438 (I was afraid I couldn’t make it under 500 haha)
Most people think that winter is beautiful, that they love making snowmen and snowball fights, that they can’t wait for Christmas and all that stuff. For you though, winter was indisputably the worst part of the year. You hated how the cold wind would find a way to sneak up to your skin no matter where you were or how many layers of clothes you’ve had on.
But the real problem was that you were butter handed and everything you touched was falling on the ground, including food and drinks, which meant that it was a matter of three days until a jumper you wore wasn’t disposable anymore. That was exactly what happened at that time.
You were cold and desperate to find anything to wear that could warm you up, since even hot tea didn’t help when you were just in your t-shirt. Your last resort was Donghyuck’s closet, which to your disappointment, didn’t have any other jumpers besides an old and faded one you’ve never seen before. You stood there holding it in outstretched arms contemplating if you really want to wear it but a cool blast that came out of nowhere decided for you.
A sudden noise made you jump with a little gasp. You wanted to turn around and see what, or who was the reason for your might-have-been heart attack but this “who” had overtaken you with a question.
- Are you really wearing that? - you could see a tiny sparkle in his eyes, even though he tried to act grossed out. - It’s like five years old.
- Well, it’s this or freezing. - you shrugged and shut the closet door, looking at your reflection in the mirror. Maybe freezing was a better option?
A smirk appeared on his face when he walked up to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, standing behind your back.
- You know, you could just ask for a hug. - He propped his chin on your shoulder, looking at you in the mirror.
You two looked like this overly cute couple from cliché romantic movies that you watch while binge-eating chocolate ice cream when you feel down. Well, except that jumper.
- But your hug wouldn’t smell like… - you sniffed the fabric and winced, but you knew that you had to lie for the sake of your pride. - Like the sea breeze…?
Donghyuck's laugh was way too loud considering how close to your ear was his mouth, and the grip on your waist tightened.
- If that's how the sea smells like, then I think we're never going to the seaside again.
