I really enjoyed the Cooking With Kindness demo I played a few weeks back, and especially enjoyed all the fun original characters! I was itching to draw them (and was also overdue for doing something with color) so did a fun drawing page with our main characters and some extra doodles!
If you haven't yet, go check out this very cute Undertale fangame demo!
And so the Sun has risen and dawn drawn to a close.
But now the day becomes overcast…
When will you see the Sun again?
Thank you all for the great reception to the demo in this first month! Now that time has passed, you must surely be asking yourselves the same burning question.
What now?
Well, here is the plan going forward:
As our Sun has risen, another Sun, elsewhere, elsewhen, has begun to set…
Indeed. DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is releasing in a matter of hours. As you might expect, everyone on the team will be far too busy with that to work on the game.
In fact, shortly after the last patch went out, the team has been taking a break. Releasing the demo took a lot out of us, and we all deserved a nice break to enjoy the start of the summer. Point is, this break will likely extend for a week after the drop of the chapter.
Once that break is over, we hope to get working on v.1.0.3 of the demo which will attempt to aid the performance issues found when playing on weaker hardware, especially in the CORE square, alongside some tweaks to balance and general bug fixes.
It will also include a new song!
This patch will hopefully be the last patch the demo will receive. Once it's done, we will shift our focus to the full game.
With that said… We are also happy to announce that work has begun on official translations of the demo into Chinese and Spanish. We will be sharing more details on these at a later point.
Looking beyond the demo, I'm sure some of you have been wondering what the release structure of the full game will be. Well, the answer is that the full game will be released all at once whenever it is complete. When will this happen? Well, I can't say for sure, of course, but considering the time it took for the demo to be complete, I would not expect it to be ready in less than two years, likely more.
Seeing as the demo covered the first 5 days, and the full game is planned to have [ ], you can see that we've made [ ]% of the game! Not to mention all the [ ] and [ ] still to make!
This will really be a [ ]…
Don't despair, however! We will still be sharing frequent updates on Gamejolt, Tumblr and the Discord server. (And twitter… I guess…)
On a final note, we want to assure everyone that we are working to release the full demo OST. Hopefully we will have everything sorted for a release sometime in July. Thank you for your patience.
An appropriately eggy holiday for an adorably eggy human! Hope everyone's enjoying the coming of Spring! But with the coming of Spring, one thing must spring to the forefront of your mind!
Where is the release date for the demo????
Well... I'm very happy to inform you...
That an internal release date has been decided! I won't publicly commit to it quite yet, but the plan hasn't changed! The Undertale Cooking with Kindess demo will release later this Spring!
So what's the state of the demo itself then?
Well... When this post goes public, the demo should be FEATURE COMPLETE! That's right! As of when you're reading this, if you were to sneak into my house and murder me, you could play through the full demo from start to finish without issue!
In fact, starting this weekend, we'll start on the last major stretch of playtesting before the demo releases! Between now and the demo's release, we will be working exclusively to polish the game and fix all issues and respond to feedback we receive during playtesting (which I presume will be plentiful!) While the game is feature complete, it's still quite rough around some edges, and our focus will be on sanding down those edges before it lands on your plate.
We're very excited to be this close to the finish line (of this first lap) and want to thank everyone who's stuck by the project over the last two years, or anyone who took the time out of their day to check it out despite never having heard of it before.
Regardless, keep a close eye on our accounts for further updates... Our restaurant's grand opening is just around the corner!
Here's a better look at some of the Eclipse's valued staff! It's important to learn a bit about who's serving you, isn't it? Take these as little looks into these characters and as helpful resources for those who love to doodle.
And while I have your attention a few notes about the release:
The game will release on the 16th of May at 18:00 GMT.
If you find a bug or similar issue in the demo, please report it through the following Google form:

Once the demo releases, PLEASE DO NOT REUPLOAD MUSIC FROM THE GAME. We understand people will want to listen to the songs outside the game, but we will upload the songs as needed in due time. Please remain patient, and we hope you understand.
