This drawing is inspired by a recent reblog where I mentioned how Tucker’s early character design reminded me of Static Shock. It’s kind of a mix of several ideas of mine for different characters since I tend to really like the electric blue aesthetic. We don’t see Tucker nearly enough as a ghost so this is a new AU to bring more to the phandom!
He calls himself Cyber-Tuck as a play on his human name and the term cyber-tech. His dad was a computer programmer which led to Tucker getting into that sort of thing too, especially the kind used for video game development. So one day while working on a VR game with a new headset he built from scratch Tucker was electrocuted after a power surge swept through Amity Park (it originated from Fenton Works btw since I’ve no doubt in my mind Danny’s parents caused more than a few city-wide black outs) and fell into a coma.
What’s interesting though is that Tucker never actually died, he’s actually still alive and it’s more like he’s having an out of body experience as a direct result of whatever Danny’s parents did combined with his own invention for making everyone’s videogame experience more immersive. Mind you, Danny’s already half ghost at this point and they both freak out when they think Tucker died until Sam manages to calm him down once they realize he still has a pulse and his body reacts to Tucker whenever they’re close to each other.
After that the three of them try to figure out a way to turn Tucker back to normal or at the very least figure out if this technically means he’s become a halfa too. Either way, whether Tucker wakes up back in his body again or not he’ll likely never be the same since ghost powers tend to have a way of sticking around whether you want them to or not. And for the first time since Desiree temporarily gave him powers through a wish Tucker learns that having these powers isn’t as easy or fun as Danny always makes it look...
