01. Danielle

It’s only week one and Danielle already knock down the competition, and it’s even more impressive in such a strong week. This is one of the stronger beauty shot this show ever had. Danielle did justice to her stunning beauty, I’m loving the elegant shape of her eyes, the definition of her lips, the way her facial structure has been caught on film. I’m loving the seduction and regalness oozing from her eyes at the same time, and somehow I think the raised arms makes her look confident. I honestly forgot how ridiculously strong this first photo of her was, and I can believe she was called only 6th for that masterpiece.

02. Nnenna

Even if she’s not my personal choice for first call out, I’m totally okay with Nnenna receiving it in panel : her picture is reaching some level of amazingness I can’t describe. I think that this photo stands out from the rest because Nenna is showing off some sort of strenght in it, and I really like that about her pictures. Her seductive stare to the side also comes across as powerful to me, she is commanding all the attention on her. And one more time, I feel the need to express how deeply amazed I am by the beautiful styling, those bright colours are looking insanely good against Nnenna’s skin.

04. Sara

Sara’s expression on this photo is stunning, she’s showing off lots of emotion but in an extremely subtle way and without going over the top. She’s really connecting with the camera by the use of her eyes, and her parted lips are just gorgeous, and the hand adds a sense of vulnerability to the whole shot that I love. I would also like to compliment the brilliant styling, as the colour of the crystals she had works so well with the colour of her eyes. Honestly, all the top 4 photos were amazing, so from now on it’s just a matter of personnal preference.

05. Brooke

This is such an interesting picture ! I think Brooke take a risk with this photograph, and it paid off. She is the girl who used her hands the best, I love how delicate their look, and the fact that one looks like the opposite of the other. It is very original without looking contrived. I’m not a fan of the face in profile, but that’s purely down to personnal preference, and I think she’s still working it brillantly, so I’m still giving her credits for that. This is a great picture, just not my favourite of the week.

06. Gina

This photograph perfectly captures Gina’s beauty. Those cheeckbones are too die for, the angle she chose was the perfect one to display it. Since most of her body is covered by mannequin, I don’t mind the simplicity of her posing, I actually think that is what makes this photo really good. The soft parted lips and the upward gaze just complete the shot. I just think that some more intensity in her emotion could have brought her a lot higher in my ranking.

07. Kari

Kari went for the same approach as Kathy but executed it better. She didn’t drop her head too far back, so we can actually appreciate her facial features at a good angle. Speaking of her face, I think that it’s its uniqueness that sell the picture to me. It has a doll like quality which is quite captivating, from her big blue eyes to her gorgeously shaped lips. She only placed 7 because I feel like she’s relying a bit on this unconventionnal look in order to get the picture, and the positionning of the shoulders feels quite flat to me.

08. Joanie

There is a nice intensity in this photo of Joanie, but I actually think that face on isn’t her friend, it doesn’t really suit the box-like shape of her head. If she’ll prove on many times later in the competition that she can pull off this angle, it’s always because of an extra element, but here she has no hair, no body, no clothes showing, no crazy background. She still looks beautiful, but the result is sort of pedestrian because her bone structure is lost at that angle.

09. Leslie

This photo is like an elevated version of Wendy’s. I found there expression to be very similar, but Leslie di dit a tiny bit better. She still looks quite sad, but more in a melancholic, fashionnable way. I still find there is something pouty about her lips, and I think she should have parted it a little bit, because this is the kind of detail that can make a photo border on pretty girl rather than model. Other than that it’s a lovely picture, just not one that wows me.
