I find this interesting because the amount of species, despite being ‘random’, is still biased towards butterflies and moths, despite beetles having about twice as many species. Do people speak too much like moths? Who knows.

Dioptase is one of the few minerals that holds its own against emerald on pure color saturation — and unlike emerald, it'll do this for under a hundred dollars on a good matrix piece. It's a copper cyclosilicate (Cu₆Si₆O₁₈·6H₂O), which means the hexagonal rings of silica tetrahedra trap copper ions in the structure, and copper is what gives it that electric green. The catch: dioptase is soft (5 Mohs) and cleaves in three directions, so it breaks easily. Never faceted into jewelry for that reason. Classic locality is Kazakhstan, but Congo (shown here) and Namibia produce some of the brightest modern material.

AS U KNOW, in the hypothermia scene, there was originally a line where revali mocks link by saying “so impatient” when he’s taking his clothes and link whines at the warmth leaving for a moment, as well as how revali would “tear the clothes off” ....yeah uh. you can see why i took it off BIHEDBCHEFV (shamefully i didnt realize how it sounded until u mentioned it and then i was like. oh god. oh fuck)
the scene where urbosa interrupts the Wall Slam originally had her teasing revali a lot more but i felt like it was adding too much fluff at that point
also in the sleepover scene, i had a more in depth “revali waking up to see the others taking a picture of them snuggling” reaction written that was gonna be more champion bonding but again i felt it was adding unnecesary fluff
also originally i was gonna have revali’s dad’s full backstory but i felt it would be too much headcannon for a both a revalink focused piece and a gift one at that. so in the end i just scrapped it and decided to save it for its own little revali backstory fic!

Was at the smithsonian national zoo (AZA accredited) and as i was walking past the Przewalski’s horses I heard someone go “they’re, like, trapped in a cage man, that’s so upsetting.” Sir, why did you go to the zoo.
Every time we walked past an animal including the house sparrows on the pathway I would repeat it I was very annoying that day
How does one look at an outdoor enclosure and call it a cage? Not to mention Przewalski's horses would literally be extinct if not for zoos. Wonder if he says the same thing about domestic horses he passes on the road.
