Working drafts and designs for “A Heart in Time” - The AHIT KH AU! 

If you have any questions or suggestions I am 110% open to ideas! None of this is finalized and there’s a lot of wiggle room - i’ve only got Subcon mostly ironed out tbh

A good chunk of this was brainstormed with help from the ever wonderful @cyndersquall / @cynderarts

Story notes under the “Keep Reading” 

(Keep in mind that i’ll be using “you” to refer to hypothetical in game actions as if this is a game that you can play) 

The start of the story is Hat kid waking up in their GummiShip (aka the ship from the game which honestly reminds me a lot of a gummi ship anyway), not remembering who they are or why they’re there, but seeing that the ship is going “home” and decides to wait. 

One the way there, they are stopped by the mafia per how it happens in the game, and gets flung out into Mafia Town - the first world

Mafia town goes very similar to how it goes in the game, except theres no time pieces to collect - Hat kid is just trying to help. Due to her amnesia she knows she’s *supposed* to be able to summon a keyblade, but can’t seem to maintain it or summon it when she wants, so she uses magic instead (she learns that she can slow time with a spell she finds in her hat). At the end of the whole debacle, Mustache girl attempts to steal the keyblade but fails, and vows to get her own keyblade so that she can defeat the mafia once and for all. the “key” is not found in this level (Thats for the finale)

Dead bird studios is also similar, but instead of the time piece both of the birds want to use the keyblade as a prop. The crows are definitely nobodies but the Conductor doesn’t seem to know, care or mind. The end of this one is the same - the winner is the one you fight, but you’re actually freeing them from darkness that’s taken over their heart due to the harsh competitiveness in their hearts that causes them to lash out. The “key” in this one is either one of the Conductor’s knives, or DJ Grooves mic, depending on who you fight. 

As for Subcon, i obviously have a lot more planned for this one. In this level, you encounter both Snatcher (The Prince’s Heartless) and MoonJumper (The Prince’s Nobody). You piece together after the stealth level in Vanessa’s manor that they are connected to the same person and you have to fight snatcher in order to get the prince’s heart and return it to MoonJumper. Once you have beaten snatcher, you have to fight MoonJumper, and return his heart to him, turning him back into the Prince. Once you’ve turned him back, he teams up with you to fight Vanessa, and is actually helpful (unlike say, a certain duck COUGH COUGH). The “key” in this area is Vanessa’s crown. He thanks HK by telling her that she is always welcome in his kingdom. 

HK finds Mustache Girl on her ship, and after berating and beating down HKs spirit with some very cruel words, manages to actually steal the keyblade and uses it to unlock some terrible corner of darkness to use against the mafia. HK has to get herself set, and goes on a final confrontation - getting help from all her friends along the way. At the end of the fight, she forgives Mu, and as it turns out, the medallion around her neck is the final key. She unlocks it and the darkness in the world is chased away by the light - saving the planet from a dark fate. 

They all want her to stay, but rather than chasing them off with a broom, she just says that she has to go home, and they let her go. before leaving however, we learn that Mustache girl *can* wield her own keyblade (#sequel bait)

The end of the story is bittersweet, but i’m still hammering out the details there (They include Bow!) so i’m not posting them just yet.

This is a redraw of something from 2018 that I still find funny 2 years later

Context: Due magical shenanigans, Jose gets himself stuck as a 4 year old (Can you tell I like this trope?). One of the things that changed with the age-reversal was the return of his slightly funky accent he had for most of his single-digit childhood (He was raised speaking Spanish and Japanese before learning English, and it let to him having a very weird accent). The accent causes him to drop certain sounds and letters when he speaks. Rey is a jackass about it
