The Drawing Board (cut segment from Ep. 4: Names)
Due to audio difficulties, we had to cut a fun little segment in which KP pitched a handful of short character descriptions and Ari had to give them names on the spot. Ari came up with some real bangers so we thought we’d at least post them here as a bonus.
(1. D&D - A young tiefling maiden who just renounced her demonic heritage, picked a virtue name, dumped her asshole demon boyfriend and became a life domain cleric as an extra fuck-you. Now she’s the party’s main healer but she also swears like a sailor every time someone goes down. (Ari named this character Harmony)
(2. Shadowrun - A troll decker who’s a total gym rat, roids all day long, shredded as fuck, and his Matrix avatar is a tiny human girl in a yellow dress who carries a massive battle mallet twice her height and swings it like it weighs nothing. His hacking style is very unsubtle and whenever he bashes his way through someone’s cybersecurity his avatar says, in his own voice because he didn’t bother to change it, “wow, bruh, do you guys even lift?” or like “hope you didn’t skip glutes day this week bruh, cuz when I knock you guys on your ass you’re gonna feel it in meatspace!” (Ari came up with the brilliant handle Daisy)
(3. Shadowrun - An elf Face who doubles as an interrogation specialist. They stole a shit ton of creds on their way out the corporate door so all their implants are top of the line wetware, indistinguishable from real flesh until you get real close. This is the vainest motherfucker in Seattle. They can punch a hole through a troll’s ribcage with their bare hands but they take extreme care with their appearance and have no qualms about stopping an interrogation halfway through to fix their hair. (Again, fantastic runner handle from Ari - she named them Dante)
(4. D&D - A huge half-orc rogue with a disarming smile and friendly demeanor who gets into places he’s not supposed to be by looking very confident and comfortable about being there. On the rare occasion that someone challenges him, he somehow always has a perfectly reasonable explanation for his presence. (This one took Ari a while but she eventually came up with Grognak the Slick)
Listen to the ep if you haven’t yet! Ari did some serious editing magic to compensate for our technical troubles - she’s a real superhero.
