THE REALNESS: WHO IS KING OF NY??? Source: YouTube
This song was used for the Golgo 13 video game ads, in the 80's. The artist is Johnny Rivers. For all my advertising vets out there. Dope record, and Golgo 13 is a pretty sick anime, from that era. I'm not sure what came first the video game or the anime? Either way I'm stuntin' on someone right now :)
Rosenberg Radio “Juan Ep” With The-Dream
I'm coming to like watching this show with E bro, Rosenberg and Cypha sounds. Its interesting to see what hip hop radio and radio personalities are about today. The breakfast club thing with Charlemagne and them is also super entertaining. But these guys are great because there is a sort of journalistic and genuine interest in hip hop what it was, and what it is now. Not just bringing some "hot artists" to interview, or somebody who's "poppin', this particular clip is a great snapshot of a bunch of cats who want to help navigate hip hop culture.
HOT 97's Boss RAILS Riff Raff On Air To The Point Of Viciousness. And he is 100% right. RAP DUMPSTER CERTIFIED.
Hot 97 has long been considered the voice of real NYC rap. Period. Recently backlash against the staff there, and especially jock Rosenberg has taken them down a few pegs, but still, to many people, Hot 97 IS the audio temple of hiphop broadcasting from the Mecca. That being said, love or hate their personal opinions and tendencies to be "hiphop purists" if you will, program director E Bro just FANNED Riff Raff after he appeared on the show last week for an interview. This is a ROASTING for the ages, and honestly, we agree.
At some point this slithering coonery of Riff Raff must end, because, as you can see by some of our recent RD posts, white rappers are emulating his clown ass. And the line between "real art" or "thinly veiled entertainment" gets more and more blurred, and the overall ending is we are, as a genre and culture, at a loss because of it. A younger generation has no idea what the real shit even is anymore.
We are not haters at all. And we're sick of being accused of hating. We dont give two dog dicks who has the most money, who got the biggest watch, who got the illest rental car in the video etc etc. And this is the enigma of hiphop as opposed to other genres. Rock acts are judged on the level of talent, creativity, instrumentation, performance, content, lyric writing etc etc. NOT who has the biggest tour bus. Who fucked the most groupies, and who has the biggest fucking watch. The prob is that most people now dont understand the difference between the MUSIC and the artist's other elements and affairs or possessions. Its fucked up.
Making you "laugh" doesnt mean your a dope artist. At all. But because Riff Raff makes 14 year olds giggle and snicker he's considered dope. Compared to other current great rappers like J Cole, Lupe, Kanye, Wale etc. Come on son. But guess what, hiphop didnt help itself at all the last decade or so. And further blurring the line between art/music/creative craft etc and materialism is Riff Raff, because he has jewels, he is dope. That is NOT AT ALL what hiphop is about! It never was! Somewhere along the line it became a very large element, and lesser minded people, who lack education and knowledge anyway, see other retards with a platform and think this is what it is. Hence the Riff Raff copy cat army now emerging from the suburbs.
We are PROUD Hot 97 took a stand for the integrity of hiphop- which means alot coming from the cocksucking world of radio. E Bro has 100% redeemed himself for the Nicki Minaj circus, and showed everyone that he deserves to be in the position he's in, and Riff Raff, on the flip, does not.
We started Rap Dumpster because of shit just. like. this. period.
Rihanna back with Chris Brown?? THE REALNESS W/PETER ROSENBERG.... Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Morning Show W/KFoxx (5-10am only on HOT97) ~Gem
The incredible opening 8 day concert of the Barclay Center jumped off with DJ Cipha Sounds on the turntables mixing up the tunes with all the Brooklyn hits... Then the stage was graced by Jay-Z opening the show with the Brooklyn's hometown anthems such as "Where I'm From" (which is a song about his upbringing in Brooklyn's Marcy projects complex) & "Brooklyn Go Hard." Then he did a tribute to one of Brooklyn's biggest icons, the very missed Notorious B.I.G. He did a couple of verses from "Juicy" as the crowd joined in. He told the crowd to "Sing loud so he can hear you in heaven." Afterward he held a moment of silence for the late rapper, who passed away 1997. There are a couple of more shows left and the only way to get tickets is on the CIPHA SOUNDS & ROSENBERG MORNING SHOW W/KFOXX 5am-10am only on HOT97!!! This is something you don't want to miss so listen up.
