He reaches for Ferrien's hand with his own, delicately lacing their fingers together, ignoring the curious glances received as they pace through the Pillars after a swift outing in the snows.
In but a heartbeat, Cyvel lifts the held hand to his lips and pressed a lingering kiss to the back of a palm, smiling properly for the first time in a long while. The expression may have only remained upon his face for a few seconds at most, but it was beautifully genuine nonetheless.
Ferr isn’t blind to the varying degrees of curiosity and distaste in the glances of those around them as they pass by- though he is equally aware of way his heart flutters at the gentle entwining of their hands. He silently sends his companion a curious glance of his own as he gives their joined hands a little squeeze- wondering for a moment if perhaps Cyvel required his attention, or perhaps something was amiss that he’d yet to notice- but all traces of worry melt away at the press of his lips. There’s nothing he can do to stop the darkening of his cheeks- red to rival that of his hair coloring his face and the tips of long ears. He feels at a loss for words, as if the gentleness of the gesture had stolen his breathe and voice both- leaving him simply staring for a moment with parted lips and raised brows.
The smile he’d been shown lingers in his mind long after it had truly faded away, struck as he’d been by a new wave of affection and the thought of how truly beautiful he looked- a fleeting brightness amongst the dim grey of the rest of this city.. He wished he could see that kind of happiness on him more often. Ferr swallows and blinks himself out of his brief stupor- rubbing his thumb over the back of Cyvel’s hand as he forces his gaze away, lest he be further lost to his own thoughts. “Was-” He clears his throat, willing his blush to die down. “Was there something you needed of me, my friend..?
