While Jazz knew D-16 had a conjunx, he doesn't know who it was.
D-16 didn't act affectionate with any miner, let alone talk to one for more than a few clicks. So you can't blame him if he'd been a bit doubtful on the silver mech's claim of being hitched after a while. Not that Jazz thinks D-16 couldn't. It's just that... looking through everything he knew of the mech; there was simply that there should've been no time at all for the mech to get, well, hitched without anyone knowing.
That said, maybe he should have known better. Watching Darkwing get thrown into a wall, sliding down and leaving a good-sized dent. Jazz definitely has known better. Having witnessed Darkwing's open attempt flirting with an odd mech after a double shift in the mines was new. And weird. When was the mech ever not a slagging aft to anyone?
So maybe that should've been the first clue. The second was when the transformer tried to get touchy-feely with the one he's flirting with, a battle mask clicked on, and Darkwing went flying.
What a day to be early in filling his quota.
Thinking back to what D-16 had shared, or rather what Jazz could weasel out of the stoic mech, this mech who'd just threw Darkwing no problem to the wall is the mysterious conjunx D-16 has.
A tall, mostly silver frame with blue armour, alternating red flame decals, intimidatingly gorgeous, and most likely a type of warframe, one that Jazz could imagine seeing in stories or old legends. Especially with the long sword hilt peaking slightly on the strange mech's shoulder. Staring a little, Jazz concluded that D-16 had a good taste in mechs. Definitely on the terrifying side, but good taste. Then again, thinking back to how D-16 is openly a huge Megatronus Prime fan, maybe he should've seen this coming.
Energon blue optics zeroed on him. Ah, slag. Where's D-16 when you need 'em."Er, hi? I come in peace?" Jazz offered, raising both of his servos calmly, betraying the screeching he's started in his processor. "I'm a friend of D-16? Sorta?"
Moment of awkward silence, a battle mask shifting smoothly, showing a sweet and gentle smile. A contrast to the violent reaction to Darkwing's unwanted advances, and - wow, this mech's really gorgeous - Jazz now feels very jealous of D-16.
"Ah, yes. Dee has told me of you. Jazz, yes?" Wow, his voice is even all smooth and rumbly. Where did D-16 find this guy? Jazz nodded, smiling nervously back at the tall mech, feeling a bit hysterical. "I am Optimus."
The blue mech introduced, placing a servo against his chassis, above where his spark should be, as he kneeled down in one leg to be in optic level with Jazz. Vents clicked sharply, loud in Jazz's audials, staring back at Optimus' faceplates, the visored mech gave nervous grin. By Primus, if Jazz isn't so dedicated to Prowl, he'd be shooting his shot. A brief glance where Darkwing stayed unconscious against the wall, he hid a wince. Then again, maybe he shouldn't risk it.
"So," Jazz starts conversationally, gesturing around his servo vaguely. "What brings you here down in the mines?"
"I am here for D-16, I believe I may have something he may find... interesting." Optimus responded, giving a thoughtful look before reaching to his side and bringing something out from his subspace. "You see, I have come to the position as the archivist here in Iacon. And during my shift, I've come to find these."
Unfolding his servos, Optimus revealed a small box with a collection of items. Majorly with a familiar shade of purple and two data pads. Now, Jazz is a fan of the 13 Primes as much as the other bot, so it wasn't much of a surprise to recognize a Prime's merch especially a Megatronus Prime one considering he's seen D-16 poster on the daily Cycles. If Jazz wasn't jealous, then he is now.
"Woah! You got D-16 Megatronus Prime merch!?" Jazz gaped, leaning forward to see the contents more. "Primus, that mech's gonna love this!"
"Yes, I was hoping for that." Optimus rumbled out a soft laugh, carefully rising back to his full height. Smiling softly at the thought of the silver mech's reaction to the gift.
It was only fair that Optimus gave gifts to the cogless mech considering the... steps they've skipped to becoming Conjunx Endurae accidentally(although D-16 insisted throughout the start of their hasty bonding ceremony that the older mech definitely could've done better than him, babbling his insecurities while staring straight into Optimus' spark, his own chamber unlocking at the sight. The silver mech's spark showed his eagerness to be with him despite the stark contrast of the words spilling out of D-16's vocalizer going; really, i don't even know what you see in me, I'm a miner, a cogless bot even and, Optimus, you're-- ), Optimus definitely should've been more disheartened over D-16's view on his self-worth, although it only fueled the old mech to insist that; yes, D-16, I would be more than honored to be Conjunxed with you.
Though he hadn't expected, that after only a decavorn of getting to properly know each other, discussing courting parameters and Optimus carefully courting the young mech in a way that he wasn't forcing D-16 to find no choice on the matter; that D-16 would be the one insisting for their merge to happen.
Considering Optimus was the one who propositioned the smaller mech, D-16 definitely should've taken that as a means that Optimus would not be choosing another. It had definitely took a bit of convincing, although the prime had been careful onto not cornering the silver mech to be conjunxed with him because of their difference in societal standing and status, discussing how and why exactly Optimus taken a liking to the smaller bot and how it influenced his decision that Optimus wanted to be together with him.
