a shiny new redesign for my d&d character, kiel 🌿🗡
she was my first ever d&d character back when i started playing! i redesigned her for fun in 2023, and now again in 2026 for a new campaign i revamped her for!
want to know her story? read more below! 👀
kiel is a human paladin from the sanctuary of perennial cessation, dedicated to termina (goddess of endings). stoic, pure and dutiful, she's her father (the reverend)'s perfect child — her twin sister calla less so. as children, the girls were spirited away by the fae and forever marked by the encounter: kiel lied about it to protect her community, inadvertently getting her sister banished for supposed "madness". now that calla has re-emerged, fae magic on her side, kiel has devoted herself to chasing her across the world and undoing the damage she causes for fun.
termina teaches that everything ends — seasons, relationships, lives, etc. one should process the grief of endings gently and quickly, before looking to the good that may come of them. organised religion for termina SUCKS and has warped this into "never get attached to anything because it will end". kiel is still very young & sheltered and hasn't stopped to question this, hence her constant state of noble suffering. because what would a d&d character be without deep-seated trauma and angst? true happiness lies somewhere between kiel's control and calla's chaos, but who knows if they'll ever relent enough to see things from the other's point of view...
if you're reading this: thank you!! and please tell me all about YOUR d&d character, i want to know EVERYTHING!
have a wonderful day (even in the knowledge that it will end)! 💚
Me when art block starts wiggling it's way into my brain
Anyways here's a DND character I made a bit ago for a campaign I had to depart from, My stoner human artificer based off of 70's hippy fashion. Their name is Schmendrick "Sativa" Freebird Moonlight III (Because its funny)
They're moldy, covered in shrooms, and have been perpetually high for years. They departed from the campaign by dropping out of the college we were attending to go live in the woods with their acquired monster polycule to sell weed and shrooms.
My character in our campaign had to be retired after being aged way up by a ghost’s curse - so here’s my replacement! This is Neneke Abara, the human Open Seas Paladin! Neneke is a Wavedancer hailing from coastal city of Syhone. Neneke has sworn the Oath of the Sacred Libertine, swearing to Syhone a life of divine freedom - to have no home but her own heart. It’s her duty to wander Oreth, living in true freedom, planting the seeds of joy and defending against evils that would see such goodness destroyed.
Baldur's Gate 3, races and their genetics&fertility
This topic is not only about the game (and the characters) but also about the whole D&D lore in general.
I am not expert with D&D nor with BG3, but...so far...I know that elves live long and have lower fertility rate (not saying Astarion shoots blanks...that up to your headcanon), while goblins seem to have very high fertility rate. But what about tieflings, demons&cambios, halflings, and all other existing races?
How rare is to have/meet...say...half-tiefling half-elf? How about half-dwarf half-human? Does D&D and BG3 have some established rules about fertility rate and common&dominant genetics of each races?
