a former Starcraft professional gamer, D.Va uses her gaming prowess, intuition and exceptional pilot skills as a means to defend her country and allies while on the battlefield.
she proudly stands as one of the most widely known celebrities in the world and soldier in her country.
though she no longer competes professionally, she retains her competitive and hands-on approach to any threat that comes her way. her confidence carries to her combat ability, and does not back down from a challenge.
while a young adult, D.Va remains a powerful and worthy adversary to those who face against her. she commands her MEKA expertly, and is a reliable teammate even in the most conflicting of situations.
Hana is very confident in her person as a whole, and some would refer to it as “overconfidence”; though she has the reputation and skill to do the talking. she is known to show little to no forbearance when competing with others, and is not to be taken lightly. one can say she is over competitive, but she does not take her position lightly in any regard.
game-based dialogue she has been accustomed to over the years largely makes for her vocabulary today, so terms such as “GG”, “LOL” and the like can spring in conversation. this does not mean she speaks strictly in “gaming” terms, as she recognizes when it becomes inappropriate to do so.
immediate traits to describe her, as aforementioned, are confident, competitive, and expressive.
while many can highlight her more aggressive or “vain” characteristics, D.Va is a very intelligent, supportive and caring young woman. she wholly understands the circumstances she is placed in, and refuses to let the severity affect her outwardly – especially to her viewers who watch her stream.
she does not appreciate those who look down to her or underestimate her based on her age, or appearance.
D.Va, again, is an incredibly smart soldier, who has above average reflexes and combat training. she is more than simply her gamertag and perceived “girl gamer” image. she is a fierce, capable fighter that encourages others to have the courage to do their best and fight for what they believe in.
her cheerful and playful attitude is ever-present when streaming her battles for her fans, who she views as her family. her cheekiness also comes into play when she defeats an enemy, saying things like, “Were you even trying?” or “Ouch!”
she has a strong distaste for hackers and those affiliated. as someone who has never cheated or altered gameplay to get where she is, she holds the most respect for those who possess the talent naturally, and not through external means. cheating is heavily frowned upon in her eyes, and she holds a very strong bias against it.
D.Va is able to speak in multiple languages; English and Korean are her most commonly used ones. she respects those who are able to speak to her in her native tongue, but does not want anyone to feel the need to.
her image is very important to her, thus she keeps a healthy diet and exercise routine to keep said appearance. as a soldier, this is also enforced.
Hana enjoys fashion and pop culture, and is very much in tune with modern trends.
because she is unable to travel due to the threat in her country, she dreams of one day exploring the world. the gamer is optimistic in that regard, that one day she will be able to travel to different locations and cultures and cities. she is adventurous, and is always excited for new possibilities.
she is a huge fan of Lucio’s music, as he is her favourite international DJ. many different genres capture her interest ranging from Kpop to American hip-hop.
as a celebrity, a person’s personal life is always appearing in the news in one way or another to catch the attention of the public.
Hana dislikes this, and because she has been in the limelight for years, is aware of the many fake and unnecessary pairings that celebrities use to gain notoriety. she is no fool, and can deduce whether a person wants to date her based strictly on her status as “D.Va”, as opposed to her actual self.
she likes to keep things under wraps for the most part, and will become more open to displaying her affection to them as time progresses.
if they were a fan, or even an onlooker, she would prefer to get to know them slowly.
throughout her hectic schedule of both streaming when fighting would occur and other oldier-related duties, she can be overwhelmed. both are very important to her, and she aims to have a healthy life from them both, but there are moments where she’d need to be reminded to take care of herself. as a former pro gamer she is used to being under pressure, but everyone has their moments.
she appreciates those that can see the difference between “D.Va” and “Hana Song”.
underneath her bubbly persona, she does have her insecurities and doubts. she dislikes making them public and keeps them to herself. she would need someone to be able to support her through her times of weakness.
a competitor at heart, she will compete with her lover a lot, and appreciate if attempt to best her in some things.
if she loses to them, she will say something along the lines of, “The only reason you won was because I was off my game that time. Rematch!” or, if she were to beat them, tease them with “GG no Re!”
D.Va does not take losses well for the most part, but is not belligerent about it. she can admit defeat, albeit begrudgingly.
she always strives to win, as she wants to be able to protect those dear to her. her insecurities tends to hit her the worst when she loses, especially in video games they would play together where she feels she can best them.
Hana is very protective and a bit of the jealous type, but would never compromise her person or their well-being if something seemed amiss. She is proactive in confronting a person of any suspicions or concerns.
ideally, the streamer wants a person she can trust; a supportive, loving, best friend that she can protect, and vise versa. she would want someone who is to correct her when she makes a mistake – albeit it healthily – but also remains her number one fan.
