how well can they handle their alcohol?

overwatch headcanons because I wanna write some :p

includes: genji, hanzo, cassidy, ramattra, zenyatta, ashe, mercy, moira

first time writing headcanons don't kill me

genji

genji would be in the middle: he can definitely drink, until it becomes too much

he can drink a few cups and be fine

he knows when to stop himself from becoming too drunk

cassidy would probably tell him to drink up more and turn it into a drinking competition

if genji ends up drunk by some miracle, he seems like the sleeping type

he would get up from his seat and drop down to the floor and be asleep

it won't be too long until he gets up and is perfectly fine though

hanzo

this man can handle his alcohol well

also knows when to stop himself from becoming too drunk

if he ends up drunk, he's the total opposite of genji

awake the whole time, probably hyperaware of everything too

sits in silence and stares everyone down

doesn't take long for the alcohol to wear off

cassidy

can drink, will drink

9/10 times he asks for a drinking competition with his best buddies

doesn't ask the ones that have a higher tolerance than him

feels SO proud once he wins it, brags about it

whiskey or rum guy

he likes the burning sensation from the alcohol

if he's drunk he would go for a shooting competition (misses every shot)

ramattra & zenyatta

if omnics could drink, ram would be able to handle the alcohol, zen on the other hand...

ramattra would NEVER get drunk (unless he knows nothing will disturb him and he's alone)

if ram were to get drunk, he would be really quiet (and if he has fans in his body, they would be pretty loud)

zenyatta is lowkey gone after the first cup, blabbering about ANYTHING he can think of

ramattra has to hear all of it

ashe

ashe is probably on the lighter side but doesn't want to show it

her first cup would get her a little tipsy

screams at everyone, Bob finally won't be alone

gets heated up and threatens anyone who looks at her funny

definitely gave herself a biological advancement to improve her alcohol tolerance

doesn't usually drink, but when she does, boy she can handle it all

she might like her coffee bitter but I think she would like the sweeter drinks

ends up helping the others who get too drunk... (cough cough genji and cassidy)

cassidy doesn't ask for a drinking competition against her for a reason

would experiment with the alcohol to see how much she can handle

also gives herself some biological advancement for alcohol tolerance

not too much though as she likes the side effects

except the headaches in the morning...

Miscellaneous Christmas Headcanons

Angela (Mercy) and Brigette spend hours on Christmas Eve cooking. They allow Jack (Soldier 76) full free range over the grill -with the reminder that if he burns anything, he will be the one cleaning it up- the next day but they are the ones prepping food, getting things marinaded, listening to quiet requests from some of the newer heroes while remaking things they know people will like -Angela because she knows full well that if some of the others had their way, there would be a lot of sugar and protein and not a lot of veggies simply because “it's Christmas!” She is the one to help everyone keep a balanced diet. -Brigette because she is the only one of the Lindholms' willing to bake Ingrid's famous pie recipe. Whether she is at base on Christmas or not, she doesn't deprive anyone of it. Hers' is a touch sweeter than her mother's but it is amazing all the same.

Genji, Kiriko, Cassidy and Zenyatta end up in charge of decorating the base the whole month of December. Between the four of them by the middle of the month, it truly looks like Christmas threw up in every shared room. For those that come back from harder missions it sparks a bit of cheer and comfort. Not that some of them would ever admit it.

Reinhardt loves his stories and so when he feels people need a pick-me-up, he grabs a classic tale (The Grinch, Scrooge, Polar Express) and pulls a large group of people in the living room, handing out hot chocolate or coffee to those that need to work throughout the night and reads until the energy of the room is calm. -Cassidy will never admit that he has fallen asleep more times than he can count during these reading sessions. -Genji will never admit to drawing on his face. Every. Single. Time. Kiriko has photos. She likes sending them to Hanzo so he can view his brother's mischief and to have them on quick copy for blackmail later. Of course.

Fareeha (Pharah) while she visits base during the holidays to see people, never stays. Much preferring to go home and spend time with her father. She harasses her mother more around this time of year to 'please come home' as she knows the family misses Ana. -Ana misses them just as much but cannot bring herself to put them in danger. Not yet. Not when she still has a job to do. -Ana does however keep an eye on things from a distance and send gifts. A small smile gracing her face as she watches her husband's eyes through a scope as he opens them. Always near the window where she can see.

After the great Secret Santa debacle of 20** There was a money cap put and anything that only met that due to a sale had to be ran past the event organisers. Angela is the only one that is consistent in her judgements while Reinhardt is easily swayed by sentimentality. Torbijörn doesn't really help much as he is voluentold more often than he willing volunteers to help and after the debacle. Jamison isn't allowed to be an organiser. For quite obvious reasons -Hint. It's the bombs. -He also thought when he got Brigette that year that he should equip her shield with a bomb so she could 'Bash and Bomb her enemies' -It was a pain to remove afterwards.

All of the group are owed favours by people. Either for saving them, helping them out or by the way of deals. So sometimes, they are able to rent out a hall under a fake name, have it catered by calling a favour and can just mingle with one another and others that may want to help out the cause by any means that they can. Christmas dinners are slowly becoming a thing TM with them. The only difficult thing is getting a very drunk Reinhardt home at the end of the evening. -Well if you ignore the shadowed figure that watches from a rooftop the whole time, a small burning hole in his chest. Unable to bring himself to crash the party even when he swears revenge. A part of him still missing his fellows from a time he views as long ago. -He wraiths away before he thinks anyone can see him but sometimes. Oh sometimes. Cassidy and Genji catch a glimpse out of the corner of their eyes and have to swallow heavily around the lump in their throats.

Cole Cassidy

As soon as you finish saying that phrase, this man will not miss a beat in returning the favor.

Like cmon, Cole Cassidy has a talent with his words. He is def gon be that one smooth motherfucker with dem pickup linea yall.

He does like genuine compliments but won’t be too flustered by them in general unless it’s about something unexpected on himself or beautifully worded. I say this because Cole is a rather attractive looking person himself with a good variety of skillsets, so people HAVE come on to him a lot. As such, he is really experienced with the sweet talk.

That said, after the mission, do be prepared for the cowman to start some harmless flirting with you. Now that he knows you consider him cute in some way, he’s going to try and fluster you in some manner for his own entertainment.

Depending on your response, Cole would either keep on teasing you, or stop if you indicate some form of discomfort. Just be careful not to get a crush on him based solely on these interactions. Lord knows how many people he has to let down because of his charms.

Shimada Hanzo

Scoffs. Rolls his eyes for good measure and tells you to concentrate on the mission.

But if you are observant enough, you miiight notice that his ears are a bit red after that. Hehe xp

Shimada Hanzo, like Cole Cassidy, is one fucking fine specimen of a man. The only difference is how approachable they are. While Cole usually looks very friendly and chill, Hanzo looks incredibly intimidating and judgemental af.

As such, the amount of people who would genuinely compliment Hanzo is almost little to none, because the ones who think he’s hot would be too scared to say that to his resting bitch face, and those who do compliment on his appearance usually are just sucking up to him in some manner.

Hanzo is aware of his good looks. For sure. He was once the heir of the prestigious Shimada clan for god’s sake. With looks, money, status, and competence, this guy was prob like one of the most unattainable bachelors in his youth back when he was still in the clan. I can imagine him getting tons of letters from secret admirers writing literal poetry about his appearance, to which he then dumped into the trash because he didn’t care about crushes then.

So if you actually said that Hanzo’s pretty to his face, he’s gon brush it off at first as someone trying to butter him up, a bit flustered because rarely anyone nowadays actually says it blunt to his face (since he aint heir to the clan anymore and is just a mercenary/overwatch agent). Later on though when he realises you were being genuine and is just. Oh.

Hilariously Hanzo is gonna do the opposite of Cole and actually avoid you for a while lmao. He is absolutely not used to ppl being nice, genuine or kind to him in that sense. He’s also like ??? are u gon start hitting on him??? Because he’s pretty??? Yea poor guy has bad ppl skills pls be patient.

Its alright haha over time if you dont make a big deal abt it or u seem chill and hang out with him more Hanzo would prob be ok with you.

There will be times where Hanzo happens to recall that first meeting moment and he will just be flushing a bit in mixed embarrassment/appreciation/self-loathe before moving on. He’s really not used to direct compliments that is not abt his skills.

I see Mercy to be a very occasional drinker. The type to only drink for very special occasions only. Maybe, you’ll be able to coax her into some casual drinks every once in awhile but that’s rare.

As a drunk I can see her being slightly touchy, maybe affectionate or the type to start ranting about her bottled feelings.

I could see her leaned against you and talking about little things that annoy her at her work or something that happened a few days ago that ticked her. It’ll probably stop when she hiccups.

“My favorite mug broke when I was pouring coffee… It was such a nice mug too..”

“Oh yeah?”

“*Hic*.. Yeah…”

You’ve seen her affectionate side and boy, she’s mostly kissing your hands since she’s shy to do anything too out there. Maybe a few pecks but expect her to be red in the face from how flustered she is and because of the alcohol.

She never lets go of you, you could say that you’re going to the bathroom and she will want to go with you just because she secretly doesn’t want to stop talking to you for more than a second.

She’s definitely the type to start singing a song if she hears something familiar. She would drunkenly hum it and then start holding your face and singing lyrics to you. Dancing is out the picture though cause she doesn’t wanna stumble about.

She wears glasses, so she definitely has lost them on occasion or playfully puts them on you to hold them whenever she’s in a more silly drunk mood.

Her laugh? Contagious. She can be a little more giggly when she’s drunk, the drink definitely loosens her up from her hardworking demeanor.

If you help her home then she’s just saying thank you over and over again, it’s so cute though cause once she hits her bed then she’s out like a light. Absolutely gone.
