Overwatch team: we think ult denial sucks so we're making it so mercy can't rez an entire team and D.va's shield time is shortened
Also the overwatch team: if you get killed the second you pop your ult it gets reset whether you got to use it or not

The new Mercy and D.va.
So when looking around the tags, there was a lot of hate on these two in PTR phase. I honestly didn't like em either. They were both awkward to play in my opinion.
But now we get into actual games, and things change.
D.va... holy shit D.va. While flying she can use all four of her abilities at once.
The rockets are amazing if you get trapped indoors, and it deals a ton of damage to enemies you can consecutively hit. I even find them extremely good when aiming at long range, just because no one sees them coming. Although, I normally don't get kills with the rockets, they lower the enemy health to where my teammates can easily dispense of them.
Shooting while flying is BRUTAL. I can't tell you how many times I saw a poor soul trying to snipe me or shoot from high ground, only for me to fly at them, lower their health before I even get there, and then give them a good ol turret slap. It's amazing and a joy to play.
Defense Matrix will be missed. I can't tell you how many times I've flown at an ultimate, only to realize that my defense matrix is down because I held it up too early. It's still extremely good for deleting some projectiles that may cause an immediate issue. However, use it sparingly. The recharge is pain.
Now for mercy:
The one man resurrect has sparked so many fun scenarios between me and my teammates. As a joke, I started "selling" resurrects, as in people making fake bids as a joke to get the res. It takes a bit of quick thinking to get someone resurrected, and normally, it's going to be the one who was just protecting you.
Protect your Mercies, your lives are now up to us.
Valkyrie is something... interesting. The movement is hard to handle in my opinion. I cannot for the life of me remember to fly up or down, and end up on the floor just healing.
That's probably just me being unable to control it because of not being used to full movement. But oh god, when you get the Valkyrie form activated, both your team and the enemy team shudder in fear, and you start feeling like a badass. The beams that heal your team require them to be closer to each other, but this is fine when the enemy is currently high tailing it out when there's a damage boosted team coming after you. Resurrect only has ten second cool downs, making three resurrects if you use one before activating Valkyrie. And dear god...
This ult lasts so long.
That's what I think people don't understand. This is 20 seconds of team healing, damage boost, or spamming your gun to kill that one Pharah who has been an ass to you and no one will counter it. It isn't as much insta healing as Zen, nor is it the quick resistance lucio gives. It's more used for a push.
I love the more aggressive and quick mercy style. The gun isn't that good in Valkyrie form. If you're away from your team, try to land some hits on the enemy before swooping back in and bringing one back to life. Normal mercy relies completely on staying alive, or being quick about getting back.
All in all, I love the new changes, even if some of the community doesn't agree with me. I just find it more enjoyable to play.
