hey,, uh. could I get some positivity for an Orphaner Bro Ampora (yeah cursed I know) who feels like he didn't protect his kids well enough? I just figured out why I'm so sad thinking about Arqun (eridan-adjacent nonsprite Arquius) and its uh. not great ig? I tried my hardest to protect them all and it didn't work in the end...

Oh, hey man, don’t call yourself cursed alright? That kinda stuff doesn’t help and there’s no need to put yourself down like that. There’s nothing wrong with being Bro kin or Orphaner kin, okay? There are a lot of Bros and Orphaners who are great people and however you may have been or what you may have done it’s all in the past. That’s not how you are anymore and that’s what matters. 

Regardless, based on what you’ve told me, you seem like you were probably a great guardian. You tried your best to protect them and that’s what’s important. There are situations and dangers that you can’t always save them from and you can’t blame yourself for that. I’m not sure of the specifics of what happened to Arqun, but I know you took great care of them and did everything you could to protect them. There are a lot of people, especially in the homestuck universe, who can’t say that their guardians would do the same. So you definitely did better than all of them!

You can’t change the past, but you can learn from past mistakes and do your best to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I know the memories hurt right now, but trust me when I say that things will get better and that I believe in you!
