Sleep time routines

Neve - Skin care, hair mask, 100% has silk pillow cases and a eye mask and ear plugs

Taash - Nests. Gets their whole bed nice and cozy and ready for sleep every night. Picks out what pillows and blankets smell right, makes sure they have their window open enough to hear outside and the sounds of the ocean

Emmrich - skin care, scented candles (Manfred puts them out when he's fully asleep) reads at least a few chapters before bed, has the most comfortable pillows known to mankind, wishes Manfred a peaceful night before going to sleep

Lucanis - when this man DOES sleep- on the stupidly expensive pillows and pillow sheets he has. Would probably pass out on top of the covers most nights or fall asleep with a book on his chest. I can see him being one to sleep either naked or mostly naked.

Davrin -Assan sleeps in bed with him most nights so Davrin has to make sure anything his feathered son would eat out of curiosity is put away and locked up, Makes sure nothing breakable is in the room they sleep in. Sleeps soundly and happily with Assans growing head on his chest

Harding - Her BEST sleeps are under the stars, listening to nature. Could totally see her having a hammock she sways in and feels so comfortable in like shes floating. Midnight snacker.

Bellara - Again when she DOES sleep - falling asleep at her desk is common place. She wakes up int he middle of the night with ideas so she keeps a notebook close by that she will write down whatever that idea is before passing out again. Her hair is all over the place because its the only time she lets it down.

Bonus:

Illario - skin routine that takes half an hour. expensive sheets and pillows, has his maids make him tea or hot milk unless he has someone over for the night (not that he ever lets them sleep in his bed. They have to be gone before light starts)

Teia - (tucked up with her face in Viagos neck) okay but - shes got a lovely silk bonnet for her curls she sleeps in, shes got a cooling sleep mask to help make sure she has no puffyness in the morning, and she has a thick quilt she uses that keeps her nice and toasty warm. Could also see her being a naked sleeper

Viago - His PJs are a matching long sleeves and pants silk set that have little hidden compartments he keeps weapons in sheaths on his person at all times. Has a million locks on his door and a trip wire.

Evka- The most normal sleeper. She likes to shower before bed every night so she knows shes going into bed clean and free of any kind of possible blight (cant ever be to careful)

Antoine -I see him being a sleep walker so he has a little bell on his ankle that lets Evka or the other Wardens know when hes walking around so someone can follow him and make sure he gets back to bed safely

An Improved Blight- Dragon Age the Veilguard (Codexes: The Elven People)

Notes recovered from Weisshaupt. Translated from elven by Bellara. Sent to Warden Antoine

"The 'blight; was active during our slumber. It can alter living creatures, but its shapes are crude. Wasteful. Elgar'nan has requested 'vassals worthy of a god.'

Thickening the darkspawn's bones and quickening their ichor was trivial. Other alterations are underway. Pools of blight are easily coaxed to produce darkpawn repeatedly. Some of their flesh is surprisingly malleable. Vital. Eager.

It used to require greater effort to shape the blight. Did we accumulate more of it in ourselves as we slept? Investigate later."

Is this Ghilan'nain? Does she not know what she looks like, or did she graft on extra bits before getting blighted? (I don't know which is worse.)

I recently reread Hunger from Tevinter Nights, saw there’s only one (1) fic on AO3 that has Antoine and Evka as characters, so now I’m READY to get on that fic writing grind once I meet them in-game. they might actually be the characters from outside media that I’m most excited to see, I can’t wait to meet them!!!!! their relationship just seems so cute 😭

Warden Rook is the best third wheel to Antoine and Evka <3 besties!

Some of my friends and I have been doing a “share some of your fic WIP” thing every Sunday, and I hadn’t written anything in ages but Dragon Age has me finally writing again <3 I’m working on a short fic starring Warden Rook and Evka, with Rook/Davrin and Antoine/Evka (although Davrin and Antoine probably won’t physically appear in the fic)

anyway here’s an excerpt from it :) spoilers for a main quest around halfway through the game (slightly more detail on what the spoiler is right under the cut)

Takes place post siege of Weisshaupt!

“So, let me get this straight.” Evka turned back around to face her, planting her hammer on the stone at her feet with a loud thunk. “You flirted with him, he flirted back, he kissed you, and now you’re asking me for relationship advice you really don’t seem to truly need.”

“Well—“ Rook’s cheeks grew warm. “When you put it like that—“

“Nerin.”

“Ooh, we’re pulling out the real name.”

“Be serious!” Evka swatted at her arm lightly. “You know you’re my closest friend, right?”

“After Antoine.”

“After Antoine.” Evka gave her a wry grin, swung her hammer up to her shoulder, and continued walking. “You know as well as I do that death is around every corner for us. You never know when you might be lost to a werewolf, or an ogre, or the Calling, or… Stone, even a blighted elven god.”

The two dwarves paused for a moment at that, the heaviness of their situation weighing on them. The fall of Weisshaupt weighing on them. Then Evka cleared her throat and continued on.

“What I mean to say is, if you don’t take a chance now, you may never get to. You could tell yourself the time to figure this out will be after this fight is over, but there’s no guarantee you’ll live to see that.”

“Gee, thanks, Evka,” Rook jested. “Really needed to be reminded of my own mortality today.”

Evka snorted. “It’s true! It took me too long to see that. You know Antoine had to ask me to marry him three times before I said yes?”

“Three times?” Rook gasped. “No, I didn’t know that! How have you not told me that?”
