fic title game: Blasted Comfort

Oh, if this isn’t ALREADY someone’s 200k word, 40 chapter, angsty, slow burn, enemies -> friends -> lovers fic, I will eat my own shoes.

This is absolutely the kind of title that E>F>L was meant for. Characters A and B being comforted by each other due to shared experiences and/or trauma and are SO ANGRY ABOUT IT!!! SO MAD that they relate to this person, and then it all comes out in a life-or-death situation where they’re forced to work together and gain respected for each other, gaining a tentative camaraderie and eventual friendship. And that comfort becomes more and more genuine, especially as they now have that second experience to bond over, and now instead of being angry about that comfort they’re afraid of it. Pining, misread signals, so many almost-kisses you want to tear our your eyes.

Happy STS! Which character was the trickiest to create?

Matt and Hans defy me for some reason when I try to write them.

But I’d say the trickiest to create was Nora? I still don’t know hardly anything about her lol. All my focus has been on the angel and demon lol.

Hello and happy STS! Are any of your characters writers or storytellers? What stories do they tell? What kinds of stories exist in your world in general?

Rain was a writer who wrote true deaths. I wish I had liked that story more cause the idea was so cool. Seth was trained to be the reija for his people, a combination oral historian, judge, and ruler.

Hello and happy WBW! What's the food situation in your world? What are the delicacies? What foods are high class, and which ones lower class? Are there feasts? Is food scarce? Tell us all about it!

I’ve put a lot of mental thought and not a lot of writing down into this so I don’t really have a lot of info I remember, lol.

The Kendrii don’t actually need to eat very often, their primary means of sustaining themselves is photosynthesis, so food is a very cultural and almost ritualistic thing they do because they can. In the morning, they’ll sometimes break their fast with sweetwater, which is literally just water with a bit of sugar, honey, or fruit juice in it, with maybe some fruit slices. A small boost of energy before photosynthesis really kicks in to start their day. They probably won’t eat again until dinner, which in the villages is an event in which the whole town will come together. In Kendrus City, individual households and friend groups will eat together, while everyone who lives in the palace (royals and servants, guests and envoys) will all eat together in a large dining hall. Eating means family.

Every major festival is accompanied with a feast, the Light Festival in the spring, the Harvest festival in the autumn, the birthday celebrations for high-ranking individuals, if there’s a reason to party, they will. Being the palace cook is the highest honor a common person can have.

I don’t really have a lot of information on exactly what types of food exist... but thanks for the ask!

Happy Smut Sunday! Is your writing process for writing smut any different? Do you outline or do you just write? How do you edit?

Heyo! The only difference between my smut/sex scenes and my usual writing is that I prefer to write any hint of steam that’s not to be taken as one large joke while tipsy.  It makes me feel less awkward, less inclined to make a joke or have the scene end with someone falling on their head, and allows me to get through using certain words without chuckling because I have the maturity of a grade school boy who just discovered how to write boobs on the calculator. 

I don’t outline them otherwise I fear getting too mechanical with what’s going on. I just write it out and edit like I would any other piece.

Happy Smut Sunday! How do your characters feel about lingerie? Do they wear it frequently? Is it a special occasion thing? Do they like their partner to wear it but don't like wearing it themselves? Tell us all!

Adrienne likes lingerie, she prefers lacey stuff over silk however! It feels weird on her skin otherwise -- she wears it on special occasions, like anniversaries and such. 

Honestly? She’s such a sucker for bother -- she likes seeing girlfriends in them and loves wearng them herself!

Howdy and Happy STS! May I say I’m intrigued by your profile picture. Pray tell what is it? 

A few days ago I may have said something generic like my dumbass dialogue or sarcastic descriptions, but I was recently made aware that I constantly make characters (to quote) ‘with a power but who are scared to have that power used on themselves’ so uhhh... whoops?
