Childe
your family is a permanent complot of your husband and the three kids against you
they know how to plead for you to let them buy a new toy, to let them go to the grocery shop with him or let them stay until late playing on the living room.
and, of course, that devil of a man with soft lips and copper hair is always behind their little wins.
"Dad says we can." you try to stay calm as you crouch to fix your daughter's dress, putting the ribbon on a better position. Your son looks to all the people on the entrance of the building, walking near his dad. "Be careful! There's a lot of people, don't get lost!" you manage to yell before taking between your arms your littlest son, who grips your sleeve, and you take your daughter's hand on yours. She starts to insist again.
"So, can we go to the pet store after the lunch? Dad said we could." you sigh again. The older kids have been insisting on getting a pet, and your husband just told them that it was a wonderful idea. It seems like he isn't aware of the big responsibility a pet is.
"We'll go take a look, but that doesn't mean we'll adopt a pet!" your kids seem happier before you pronounce the last words. She pouts as he takes Childe's jacket, calling his attention.
"Dad, we are going to adopt a pet, right?" he asks. You sigh again and your husband looks at you, smiling.
"Of course! Did I already told you I have a reservation?" the kids start to talk between them as Childe keeps one of his fingers caged on your son's hand, and he gets closer to you.
"We're not getting a pet. They're too little, what if the dog bites them?"
"Baby, nothing will happen. The dog is a big dog from a friend that can't keep him anymore. I swear he's the most loyal and tender dog I have ever met, and he loved to play with me and all my siblings, from babies to adults. He will take care of them, and I'm sure they will like the other."
Once again, Childe was right. But you won't admit it in front of him, of course.
Al-Haitham
He's busy most of the times, but always finds time for your baby daughter and for you.
His usually cold eyes soften just with the mention of his family, and he carries pictures of both of you on his wallet to show them to his friends.
He was scared he couldn't be a good dad for the baby, but he already demonstrated he's the best.
"Dad."
Your baby pronounces that single word once before tears start to appear on her eyes. You take her from the little couch, caging her on your arms and walking around the living room on an attempt to calm her.
"Do you want to see dad, don't you?" you try to soothe her with calm voice, but you can hear her still sobbing. Al-Haitham has been on a conference on his studio almost all afternoon, and it seems to be an important one with members of the Akademyia, so you tried your best to not disturb your husband. Still, the baby misses her dad, as the weekends are the only days you can share family plans and spend the whole days together. You try to calm her, but her little voice keeps calling for him once, and once again.
"We'll take a look from the door and see dad, yeah?" the mention of the word "dad" makes her eyes shine cutely. You walk towards your husband's studio, knocking softly before opening. He's sitting there, serious, with a pencil on his hands and his eyes following coldly the person that is speaking on the laptop. He turns his head softly to the door, as a soft smile appears on his lips and his eyes give a tender look towards both of you.
"She wanted to see you before her nap. There was no way to make her sleep without you." you whisper, and he stretches his arms towards her, smiling. He sits the baby on his lap, one of his hands holding the pencil as the other holds the baby's back, getting her near to his chest and trying to sleep her with rhythmic and soft pats. He keeps taking notes of the meeting when you leave, and when you arrive back, with a cup of coffee for him, your baby soundly sleeps on his arms, now both occupied by your baby's body. He smiles softly at her before leaving a kiss on her forehead. The sight melts your heart as you look at him, whose eyes are fixed on your daughter as if she was the only thing he cares about in the whole world.
Ayato
Another one who will get a whole complot against you to make the kids win.
He's strict with them, though, but he also knows they need a little fun sometimes.
Maybe, your concept of fun and his isn't the same.
"Have you seen Ayato and the kids, Thoma?" he seems to freeze at your question. That just makes you distrust about what your husband and your three kids can be doing. He turns around, completely blushed, and you talk even before he's able to open his mouth. "His office, right?" he nods and you walk towards the last room of the building. You can start to hear the knocks on the table and the sound of mora falling to a wooden surface. You open the door to find, as you expected, your husband and your eldest son playing with beetles, golden coins on top of the table as your younger sons sit on both knees of his father. Without even taking his gaze to you, Ayato speaks.
"Hi, darling." he purrs, taking three coins from the little heap next to his hand.
"What are you two doing?" you ask, and you feel how your younger children hug your legs, making you lose a little of balance, but managing to keep on both feet.
"We're playing with dad's beetles. And coins." your oldest son says, selecting his beetle for the next round. You look this time to Ayato, who smiles at you sweetly. You've been tricked by that smile way too many times to fall now.
"Kids, to your room, please. I need to talk with dad." The kids pout as Ayato sighs, still smiling.
"But, love, they will soon succeed me as the head of the Yashiro Commission and the Kamisato Family. I need to demonstrate the Arataki that my heirs are as good as me on beetle fights, if not better." When he puts his eyes back on you, his apology smile appears. "Sorry love, I won't show the kids bet games until they reached the legal age for it."
