It was not a date.
You couldn’t remember how many times you’d told yourself that since you got off the video call with Kirishima just an hour before. You said it while you were making tea and breakfast, while you took a shower, and when you were drying your hair. When he texted you to let you know he was leaving to drop Remi off with his parents and that he’d let you know when he was actually on his way, you had to remind yourself a couple times then.
Oh, and once you got the, ETA: 24 minutes. See ya soon, with the little smiley face at the end, you actually had to voice it out loud that this was not a date!
Neither of you had called it a date over the phone! And not in any text messages either! There was no possible reason for your brain to even think Kirishima could be considering this a date.
And yet you still had six different tops thrown across your bed, two skirts, a pair of leggings, and three pants, none of which you were happy with for your not date. The thing was, even if this wasn’t a date, you were still going to the place you were going to be working at, therefore you had to make a good impression. A good impression without trying to make it blatantly obvious that you were trying to impress.
Sucking in a deep breath through your nose, you knew what you’d go with. A pair of sleek black pants that cut off right at the ankle and hugged your hips just right, paired with your favorite blouse, if for no other reason than comfort and familiarity. Dressing up the whole thing with a pair of heels that were worn in enough that they wouldn’t kill your feet no matter how much walking you did.
You glanced at the time, too late now to change even if you wanted to…
It was not a date.
Over and over he told himself that, so many times that he lost count! But, he hadn’t even realized he’d dug out one of his favorite shirts from the back of his closet that hadn’t seen the light of day in he couldn’t remember how long. Rolling the sleeves just under his elbows and trying to decide if he should leave it unbuttoned or not.
In the end, he settled on not because this was not a date and open seemed more casual. Yet, Remi narrowed her eyes at him when he walked into her room. “Why you wearing nice shirt? Thought we go to grams’.”
“You are going to grams’,” he corrected her, “I have to go into work for a little bit.”
Her little bottom lip jutted out. “Oh, don’t gimme that!” He scooped her up in his arms and spun her around until she was giggling. “You love going over to their house, and what about the puppies?” Eijiro was doing everything he could think of to keep her distracted because there was no way he was telling her he was actually meeting you. She’d never let him leave, not without her at least. He had no clue what he was going to do when she learned you two would be working together.
Within the hour he was pulling into his parent’s drive, seeing them both working in the vast front yard, waving as he pulled up to the house. “There’s my girl!” His mom crouched down and caught Remi the moment she jumped at her while his mum walked over to greet him with a hug and a kiss.
“How are ya feelin’, love?”
“I’m doing good, mum, promise.” They were so proud of all he’d done in his hero career and yet they also never quit worrying about him. It’s just hardwired, was what they told him every time he reminded them they worried too much.
“Daddy has a date!” His eyes went wide at the words coming out of his daughter’s mouth.
“I do not!”
“That is one of your nice shirts, Eiji.”
Both his parents eyed him with curiosity while he fumbled with a response. “I— I’m going to work! I told you guys that on the phone! And— and I have a lot of nice shirts, thank you very much!”
“That we only see you in for holidays and special occasions… like dates.”
Both his daughter and the woman that held her wore identical smug smiles.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you all, but I really am just going to work.” He kissed Remi and then both his mothers, “And if I don’t get going, I’m definitely going to be late.”
Once in the car, he was able to release the sigh he’d been holding in, thankful they let him go without any further hassle.
Somewhere between his mothers’ place and yours though, it occurred to him that this would be the first time the two of you would be seeing each other outside of the hospital, well, besides the accident in the park and the train crash. Eijiro’s fingers twitched anxiously against the stirring wheel but he wasn’t really sure why.
He’d spent so much time with you over the last week, he even talked to you well into the night for the last two, seeing you in person and outside of the hospital shouldn’t be weird or uncomfortable and yet nervous excitement flowed faster and faster through his veins the closer he got to your apartment.
When he got there though, and you answered the door, a different kind of nervous energy took him over. He thought you were pretty that day in the park… hell, he thought you were gorgeous. Even in the hospital you still managed to look lovely to him somehow. But now, he got the chance to see the normal you and it made his heart leap into his throat, that had to be the reason he couldn’t speak for a moment… right?
It returned to its rightful place in his chest though with a quick clearing of his throat and suddenly he recalled how to exchange a basic greeting!
Lucky for him, when the two of you walked down the sidewalk on the way to the agency, he was also remembered how to have a conversation, then again, you always made that easy for him. And even when the conversation tapered off, when you happened to see something in a shop window and your steps slowed, he didn’t mind the comfortable silence. Not a single bit. Another topic would pop right back into one of your heads and away you two would be chattering.
Of course, his heart started hammering a little faster again once you got to the agency though. It was the way you walked just a little closer to his side so you didn’t get separated between the many people flitting about. And there was the way you smiled when he introduced you to the people who’d be your co-workers, the people he called friends.
Mina welcomed you with open arms, literally. Pulling you away from him for the time being to show you how your office would be right beside hers, because, obviously you were getting an office if Izuku and Katsuki had anything to say about it.
Denki was quick to join Mina, clearly wondering who the new girl was and, Eijiro was pleasantly surprised the man showed a modicum of restraint; he waited a full minute before using a pickup line on you. One that must not have been very good judging by your eye roll and Mina’s groan of disgust.
Hanta was out on patrol with Kyoka and one of the team’s sidekicks, so, you’d have to meet him on your official first day but, aside from that, he also introduced you to their team's receptionist, Hina, a sweet woman with streaks of gray shooting through her dark coiled locks. You didn’t get a chance to actually speak with her since she was talking on the phone the entire duration of your visit, but, that was pretty normal for Hina.
Even Katsuki snuck out of his meeting, though, that was because he was wondering what the two of you were doing there when neither of you were supposed to working yet.
Eijiro had ducked into his own office while you were preoccupied, wanting to give you all the time you desired to get to know people and your new workplace. He had no intention of getting any actual work done but he still thumbed through the paperwork that sat in the center of his large desk. Documents he would need to fill out regarding his participation in the rescue efforts for the crash. And, sure enough, when he logged into his email, there were all the medical releases he’d need to worry about. Standard procedure for any pro who had to undergo surgery due to an injury caused while on duty.
However, that was a problem for future Eijiro to deal with. He’d have desk duty for another couple of weeks anyway before he’d be cleared to patrol again. Plenty of time to get boring paperwork taken care of.
You poked your head in just a couple of minutes later and made a comment about how nice of a view he had out the vast glass windows and he had to agree. It was prettier at night, he thought but, even in the daylight the view of the city spreading out down below was something to behold. The view from yours was just as nice though, he just had the advantage of the balcony off his particular office. A perk of being one of the agency’s many founders; getting a say in the design. Everyone had their own taste, this just happened to be his.
With Mina needing to get ready for an interview, Denki now taking a phone call, and Katsuki returning to his meeting, Eijiro took the opportunity to show you the rest of the agency.
He made sure to verbally tell you all the places he could remember, which floors specific things were on, but the places he deemed most important he made sure to actually take you to. They were the ones you could usually find the team at if they weren’t on their floor.
This meant you got to see the two gyms, the swimming pool, the food court, and the research, medical, and support floors. He watched you take each new place in. How you wasted no time in greeting people with a warm smile.
He was laughing by the end of the tour, when he was walking you back to your place, he listened to your opinions of the agency and his co-workers, telling him there was no way you could possibly remember everyone’s name.
“You don’t need to worry,” He grinned, “Promise, I’ll help ya in any way I can.”
If you had any doubt that Eijiro Kirishima was a man of his word, they were long gone by your second week on the job.
“Which floor can I find Yaoyorozu on again? I need her signature for this press release with Pinky.”
“Two floors up.” He was behind his computer like he’d been for most of the time you’d been working here and he made sure to give you one of his signature bright smiles before you were hurrying on your way.
Shit, you doubled back, “Hey, don’t forget—“
“I have my appointment to be cleared in for fieldwork at three today. I remember, darling.”
You grinned at the nickname. It didn’t mean anything, you learned that pretty quickly after hearing him call practically everyone in the office that at one point or another but it still made your heart skip a beat. Especially when he let it slip outside of the office. When the gang of pros went out after hours and always invited you along. Or, during your late-night phone calls with him that did, in fact, become a habit, the nickname would occasionally slip past his lips then too. If he knew the effect it had on you, he never commented on it, he just kept on being his usual, cheery, helpful self.
Kirishima was always there when you needed him, all of his friends were. It never left the back of your mind just how lucky you were to be thrown in with this group of people that accepted you with open arms. If you had questions, they were happy to answer them, and, in return, you were happy to help them out with anything you could.
Like, making sure Katsuki had at least an hour off after an interview so he could blow off some steam. Or, not scheduling any calls for Denki before 9 AM because he was certainly not a morning person. It was the little things that you took notice of but it made a world of difference to them. They were quickly learning that they could come to you with problems and you would do what you could to find solutions.
Which is why it didn’t really surprise you to see Kirishima in your doorway, “Can I come in?” He asked after a quick knock. Back from his afternoon patrol but still in his uniform.
“’Course!”
He stepped in and closed the door behind him with a quiet click.
In the 21 days you’d been working with the man you’d gotten pretty decent at reading his facial expressions, of course, the late-night phone conversations helped too. You now knew when something was bothering him or was just making him downright annoyed. But, the one he had on now was the same one he got before a meet and greet or any kind of live press event; something was making him nervous.
Out of his pants pocket, he pulled out his cell phone. “Would it be alright if you listened to this voicemail I got while I was out?”
You were a little skeptical, only because of his demeanor but told him to play it anyways.
Eijiro, it’s mom. Your daughter has something she’s been wanting to ask you all day so, here she is—
Daddy! Daddy, listen! It’s been, like, forevers since I’ve seen Ms. Y/N and I miss her whole lot! Can she please come over for dinner tonight? Gammy says it’s okay! I already ask! Please, daddy!
It’s fine with us, Eiji, really. Y/N sounds lovely from what Remi and yo—
He stopped the voicemail before his mother could continue and slipped the phone back into his pocket while he explained, “She asks about you, well, a lot, actually. I don’t want it to be weird and I don’t want you to feel obligated or anything but I had to at least ask because—
Now it was your turn to cut him off, trying to hide your smile that was threatening to bloom in response to the nervous word vomit. “Do you want me to go to dinner, Kirishima?”
“Yeah… yeah, I’d really like it if you did and it’d mean the world to Rem. But, it’ll be at my moms’ place and I don’t want you to feel awkward about it or anything.”
“Kiri, it’s fine. I’d be happy to go to dinner, I just have one condition.”
“Name it.”
“You tell me what your moms’ like to drink because there is no way I can show up empty-handed.”
He chuckled and you watched him finally relax. “I’ll tell you on one condition:” You raised your brow, waiting to see what he was going to ask of you. “You call me Eijiro, at least, while we’re there.”
A warmth pooled in your cheeks at the forwardness of the request. “Alright… Eijiro,” Experimentally rolled his given name off your tongue and you saw that same heat in your cheeks rise in his own, “I think I can do that.”
He quickly got changed and the both of you walked out of the agency to the weekend ahead. He offered to drive and you happily accepted, making things all the easier since you’d walked to work that day.
Kirishima handed over control of the radio, letting you pick whatever you liked, saying he was prone to listening to just about anything.
So, with music pouring through the speakers, your voices singing along, while hair whipped around you as Kirishima drove down various streets, leaving the city behind and heading off for the countryside.
Before arriving, Kirishima made a point to give you some information about his parents so you weren’t walking in completely blind. Letting you know he was the only adopted son of Cara and Natsumi Kirishima, Cara being his mum, and Natsumi his mom. Both women were now retired from being teachers, and moved out to the country, but were constantly around for him and Remi when they weren’t traveling.
“They went on this Euro adventure for like four months,” He was telling you with a wide smile on his face, “The stories they came back with…” There was awe in his eyes as he shared a couple of them with you before deciding he should stop so you didn’t have to hear them twice.
“How’d they meet?”
“An educational seminar. My mum was an attendee and my mom was the one presenting. They ran into each other at a bar later that evening and my mom was smitten right from the start.” He chuckled a little, “My mum thought she needed to get off her high horse. But, with the help of some alcohol, they both got to talking and I guess the rest is history.”
It wasn’t too much longer until Kirishima pulled into a long driveway framed with beautiful trees the whole way up to the home. On the porch that Kirishima drove past, you caught sight of a woman with dark hair sitting with two dogs on either side of her and puppies playing at her feet. In the yard, gazing into a little pond was another woman, this one with strawberry blonde locks piled atop her head, and standing just in front of her was a very familiar little girl, who’s face you saw light up in an instant the very moment she saw the car.
Remi took off, nearly tripping over her own two feet before she could run after you two. “Ms. Y/N!” She hollered over and over until she reached you, running right into your arms when you crouched down to her level and completely ignored her father. “Missed you.” She nuzzled her little face into the crook of your neck, allowing you to pick her up just as Kirishima walked around to join you.
“Missed you too, kiddo.”
“Where’s my hug, huh, little pebble?” He tickled her sides until she threw her arms around his shoulders and climbed over into his arms.
Two small hands held his face still so she could look right at him. “Thank you for bringing her. Best daddy ever.” Kirishima looked as if he was going to melt right on the spot when his daughter kissed the tip of his nose. “Now c’mon! We gotta take Ms. Y/N to meet gammy and nana!”
She wiggled and Kirishima took that as his cue to set her down between you two and she wasted no time reaching up expectantly, waiting for each of you to take one of her hands. He wore a small smile when he leaned down a bit so she didn’t have to reach so high and once you accepted her other hand, she happily took off again.
Introductions were full of warm and welcoming smiles. His parents inviting you into their home, offering drinks in between a handful of questions.
They knew a little about you, the basics like your name, the fact you and Kirishima worked together, and that you helped Remi in the park. Kirishima explained to them how you knew Bakugo and Midoriya, and you shared your relation to Tamaki.
“But, you two met completely by accident?” Cara asked when the four of you sat on the front porch.
You nodded. “That’s right. I’d only been here for about a week, I was taking a break from job hunting in the park.”
“That was when Remi snuck away to the duck pond,” Kirishima interjected and his Natsumi rolled her eyes.
“That kid loves her animals.” As if that fact wasn’t obvious the way she was chasing the litter of puppies around the yard at that very moment.
“I panicked,” Kirishima admitted, “Called the whole gang to try and help me find her when Y/N came up to me with Remi explaining what had happened… just happened to be in the right place at the right time.”
When he looked your way his eyes were soft. He’d thanked you at least a hundred times so far for what you did that day and he showed no sign of stopping no matter how many times you told him it wasn’t necessary.
Together you explained how you met again at the train crash, realized the connections between mutual friends, how Bakugo and Midoriya offered you the job at the agency, the highlights.
But, those late nights in the hospital, the overnight video calls that still were happening, and the date that wasn’t a date… you kept those memories for yourselves.
Remi came barreling up the wooden steps when Kirishima was telling them about his patrol that day, inquiring about food because she was starving.
Lucky for the little one, everything was already prepared and just needed to be set out on the table, a task everyone helped with. You moved between the kitchen and dining room, taking in all the little things that made this house into a home. Most notably the artwork that lined the walls, pieces from the many trips Cara and Natsumi had taken together over the years, there was also a plethora of family photos that you made a note to take a closer look at after the meal.
Remi sat right between you and Kirishima, happily munching on the food her father put on her plate. The food that you gathered on your plate, was absolutely delicious. Fresh vegetables from the garden the family had with a few other options for main dishes. “Eijiro didn’t exactly let us know what you liked to eat, so,” His mom gestured to the table and your heart warmed from the generosity.
It shouldn’t have come as a surprise with how kind of a man Kirishima was, he had to learn that somewhere.
You were listening to a story his mum had been telling about a trip they took to Greece a few years ago. She was recalling the many days they spent hiking the Corfu trail, and all the breathtaking sites they got to see along the way. When Remi asked her to tell her about the flamingos they’d seen, you took the opportunity to quietly ask, “Could you pass me a little more of that dipping sauce, Ki— Eijiro?”
He had a tongue touched smile at your slip up but passed you the sauce without saying another word.
When the meal was done, bellies happily full and the conversation waning, Eijiro ran a hand across his daughter’s back. “Gotta take a bath t’night, pebble.” She whined and made a face, “I know, I know. Wanna take one here or when we get home?”
“Neither…”
He pulled her onto his lap. “You’ve got those fun bath toys here though.” She shook her head. “What if gammy or nana give you a bath?”
She buried her face into his chest, “Don’t want to.”
This had become their regular routine ever since Remi’s fear of water set in. She’d put up a good fight, he’d end up bribing her with something, and even then it would be the quickest bath with as little water as possible being used.
“Eijiro, lemme see that pitcher of water.” He slid it over to you so you could refill your glass, “Kiddo, can you look at me for a second? ‘Remember, water isn’t so scary.”
Remi turned her head so her cheek was pressed to his chest but her ruby-red eyes were on you. “It is when I can’t see.”
“Poor baby girl.” His mum cooed.
But his mom, who’d been taken a few plates into the kitchen, grumbled something much harsher, “Could beat that damn woman…”
“She’s gone, love, ’s alright.” Cara calmed her wife as the two left the room.
Eijiro hadn’t found a particularly good time to tell you about Remi’s accident, why she was as scared of water as she was, but with the furrowed brow you had now, he couldn’t really avoid the topic.
“Rem, we’ll figure this out in a bit. Why don’t you help gammy feed the puppies.”
Instantly her mood brightened. Hopping right up and seeking out her grandmothers’.
“I can just pretend like I didn’t hear that…”
“No, no, it’s alright.” He heaved a sigh, turning in his chair so he could face you. “I’ve taken Remi to that duck park since she was a baby. My ex, Remi’s mother, never liked going. Something about the smell of the place bothering her…” All he could do was shake his head at the ridiculousness of it all.
“When Remi was three I went away for a week on an assignment out of the country. Phone calls were spotty at best. And Remi was fussy, not sleeping… she missed me. It was all I heard about on the calls we were able to have. My ex decided to take her to the duck park one day to try and calm her down and it kinda worked for a bit.”
His fists were balled so tightly that his knuckles had gone white. “I, um, I still don’t know exactly what happened but Remi fell into the pond, and rather than ‘getting in that filthy water’ my ex decided to shout for a pro to come help. One came, quickly too, thank gods but, Remi got sick from the water, was in the hospital for a few days.” His eyes couldn’t hold yours anymore. “Ever since then she’s been terrified of being in water, she loves looking at it, just hates being in it or it running down her face in any way.”
The guilt of not being there for his child was written all over his face. The fact he wasn’t at the hospital within minutes haunted him. And the rage he felt when he realized his baby had been struggling for minutes while his ex just stood by and watched… that hate never left him.
Your hand covered his and he almost pulled away from the contact. For how close the two of you had become recently, you hadn’t done anything more than exchange a quick hug. But, it felt nice, he couldn’t deny that, it made him relax just a little when your thumb gently brushed across his scarred skin. You had to dip your head to look at him. “You know it wasn’t your fault, right?”
“I know,” He confirmed with a weak voice, “Still wish I could’ve done something though.”
Somehow your sad little smile helped to ease the ache within him. “That’s because you’re a really good parent, Eijiro.” His eyes closed and he had to fight the urge to admit how nice it was to hear you say that. “Can I try to help her?”
His eyes quickly shot open at your offer, “Y-you don’t have to do that but if you wanted to—.”
“I do want to.” You squeezed his hand before letting it go, reaching for the pitcher of water. “Time to put my quirk to good use.”
From the window over the sink, he was able to watch you and his mom out on the porch with Remi. His daughter had crawled into your lap with no hesitation. You had the pitcher in front of the three of you and, using your quirk, you drew the liquid up from the container.
Remi frantically grabbed your hand and made you put the water back but, with a little coaxing from you and his mom, she cautiously allowed you to do it again.
You brought a small ball of water in front of you both, letting Remi experimentally play with it however she liked. Poking, flicking, and eventually, she plunged her arm right through the thing.
“She’s really good with her.” His mum noted from beside him, taking in the sight unfolding while she was elbows deep in soapy water, washing off some of the dishes.
“Yeah, she really is.”
“Does she have any of her own?”
He shook his head, “Nope, but, she thinks of Kaio, Tamaki’s boy, like her nephew.”
She nodded her head in acknowledgment but didn’t say anything more. Eijiro redirected his attention from where you were now making the water into shapes and onto the unusually quiet woman beside him. “Mum… what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing, dear, ‘m fine.”
He flipped the dish towel onto his shoulder and looked right at her. “What happened to ‘we don’t lie in this house’?”
She sucked in a deep breath, setting a soapy plate back into the warm water. “Eiji, I know you’re grown but I thought we were close.” Quickly he became thoroughly confused because they were close! “It’s just, hearing about your girlfriend from Remi rather than you… it hurts, baby. I thought you would’ve told us yourself.”
“Wait, wait, no,” He lets out a laugh of relief and takes her by the shoulders, “You— you’ve got the wrong idea! Y/N and I, we aren’t like that, we’re just friends is all.” He pulled her into a tight hug, feeling her wet arms go around his back. “You and mom were the first women I ever loved, please, ya gotta trust me when I say if I’m seeing someone, I will definitely tell you about it.”
She hugged her son tight and silently wondered to herself; if the two of you weren’t already dating… how long it was going to take?
With your help, Remi took a bath with very little fuss.
“Daddy, she used her quirk and kept all the water outta my eyeballs!” She was telling him while he combed out her hair.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah! And then she pulled out all the soapy bubble right out!”
“Sounds like a pretty big adventure.” His mom was grinning, packing up Remi’s little bag of goodies so the three of you could call it a night.
“Big adventure.” She yawned, tired from the whole ordeal.
“Think that means we should be on our way.” He chuckled and kissed her cheek. “Who’dya wanna sit with while I go grab our leftovers?”
“Y/N, please.”
You were sitting beside his mum on the sofa and held your arms open for her. She nuzzled against you but swung her legs, giggling when her nana caught her toes and started to mess with them.
Eijiro smiled to himself when he heard laughter from the three of you, taking his time to put the containers his mum had packed into a bag.
He knew you’d get along with them just as much as he knew they’d like you, but actually seeing it firsthand brought him so much comfort.
No matter how much he wished for his ex to get along with his parents, it was never in the cards. They never clicked. No matter what his parents tried to capture her attention, her responses always felt fake, overwhelmingly forced, but with you, it seemed effortless. Like you genuinely were having a good time. He just hoped that was actually true.
And, before walking out to join you all again, he allowed himself to hope for more nights like these. The chance to make more of these memories with you.
I will never stop loving you pt.2 (KiriDeku x baby!reader)

PRESENT-DAY 3 WEEKS LATER
*MIDORIYA'S POV*
I woke up at 4:30 to Y/N crying in her crib and flailing around like she was having a nightmare and she was wailing. So I walked over to her crib and picked her up and she looked like she was in a deep sleep so she wouldn't wake up even if I made a slightly loud sound. I remembered she hadn't eaten since 6:00 last night so I figured she was probably hungry.
But there was one problem
Her formula was downstairs
And everyone else was asleep
So I had 2 options
leave her up here unsupervised and get it or bring her down with me and get it
Well, really the latter was the only real option because she's only 6 months old and she was crying so I figured a diaper change would be needed too.
I walked out of my room with her in my arms and tried to soothe her and calm her down. poor thing was squirming around like she was miserable. I'm lucky I live on the second floor and no one else is up.
Or so I thought
"what are you doing up Midoriya?"
Oh thank All Might it was Kirishima
"Y/N's probably having nightmares or is hungry or needs a diaper change or all three"
"I can definitely see she's not having a good time"
"yeah so I have to figure out how to wake her up without making her cry more so I can feed her"
"Maybe I can hold her while you get her formula?"
"Thank you Kiri that would be great"
I handed her over to Kirishima and went to the kitchen to heat up her bottle with my body while he held her and tried to calm her down
*KIRISHIMA POV*
Midoriya handed Y/N to me and I walked over to the couch in the common room with her in my arms and through this whole thing she was still crying poor thing.
I slowly rocked her in my arms and whispered sweet nothings to her but unfortunately, it wasn't helping.
"It's ok it's ok honey, daddy will be back with your bottle soon"
I stood up and bobbed her up and down on my shoulder but that didn't work either
So I resulted to the last thing I could think might work.
I sat back down with her in my lap and lifted her tiny shirt and blew a raspberry on her little tummy and she immediately started laughing and she opened her adorable big e/c eyes then immediately shut them again as she began to giggle and squirm
"Awwwww you have an adorable laugh just like your daddy when I tickle his tummy"
"What did you say about me to my baby?!"
"I said she has a cute laugh just like her daddy"
"Y-yeah b-but your's is cuter!"
"Actually Y/N's laugh is the cutest."
"I guess you have a point there Kiri"
"Also I got her to finally stop crying"
"Oh, that's great!"
*MIDORIYA'S POV*
I took the now smiling and slightly giggly Y/N back from Kirishima and sat down next to him and proceeded to feed her with her bottle and she drank that bottle dry within a minute.
"I guess she was hungry after all"
"Got that right"
I then stood up and burped her which kind of went well since she burped then threw up onto Kirishima's lap and then she started crying again
"I think she may have messed herself"
"Yeah probably and you should get changed since I'm pretty sure having vomit soaked pants isn't very comfortable"
"True but it wouldn't be very manly to leave you alone with no help to change her"
"Wait don't you have a spare pair of pants in the bathroom just in case something happens?"
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that!"
So Kirishima went to go change his pants while I got Y/N to the area Mr.Aizawa helped set up for the explicit reason of changing Y/N's diaper.
Kiri came back within like 45 seconds of him going originally and he didn't bring his soiled pants
"Does she have diapers down here?"
"No I think I have one in my room can you watch her real quick while I get one?"
"Sure thing bro"
So I gave her to Kiri and sprinted up the stairs to get a diaper
*KIRISHIMA'S POV*
So Midoriya gave me Y/N and I walked her over to the changing table and put her down on the table and I as fast as I could took her nasty diaper off and put it in a bag and threw it away in the trash can for her diapers
I then walked back over to her small crying form and started to soothe her as I wiped her and tried to be thorough and be able to have enough time for Midoriya to come back with the diaper and the baby powder
"Shhhh shhhh it's ok honey, all the yuckies will be gone soon and you can be in a nice clean diaper! you're almost there and you're doing such a good job! You're such a smart little baby huh? You're smart like your daddy! Between you and me you are the smartest one in this whole building. Does your tummy need raspberries again? Huh? Yeah, I think you need some."
I then went to town blowing raspberries on her precious little tummy and cooing at her like she does when she's happy sleeping.
"Coochie coochie coo little cutie~ aww your smile is so cute and contagious"
*MIDORIYA'S POV*
"Coochie coochie coo little cutie~ aww your smile is so cute and contagious"
I heard the sound of Y/N's precious little giggles and saw her on the changing table just waiting for a new diaper while having her tiny little tummy tickled by my sweet boyfriend.
"Hey Kiri I'm back"
"Oh good because I also wiped her and took off her old diaper"
"O-oh y-you didn't have to do that!"
"I know I just wanted to because she's adorable and she is the daughter of my sweet adorable lil' Izuku~"
My face flustered brighter and redder than his hair
"W-well I think w-we should put her diaper on her and get her back to bed"
"Good idea"
So we worked together to put her diaper on her and put powder on her to make sure she didn't get a rash and suffer from that
I picked her up and got her ready to take back upstairs when I got the question
"Hey, you don't mind if I come with you guys and spend the rest of the night in your room do you?
"Of course, I don't mind but we'd have to share a bed and one of us would have to sleep facing towards Y/N because she has a little habit of crying when someone faces away from her in the chance she wakes up in the middle of the night."
"Works for me"
NO ONE'S POV
~Le time skip to Midoryia and Kirishima putting you in your crib*
"Alright you adorable little trouble maker time for bed"
"Aaaahhhhh"
"Awwww she's trying to speak"
"I wonder when she'll say her first words"
"I'm not sure but from the looks of it probably soon"
"Well goodnight my little one sweet dreams"
"Goodnight cutie pie see you in the morning"
"We love you"

“Hagakure, huh?”
“Yeah. He said he thought it’d be interesting,” Y/n said. She sighed, hanging her head over the back of Kirishima’s couch. “And it looked so weird!”
“...I mean, seeing what’s happening inside would be pretty interesting,” Kirishima said thoughtfully. He sighed, shaking his head. “But seriously, cheating? On someone like you? Disgraceful. We all know Bakubro is impulsive, but it honestly seemed like he loved you, and you don’t do stuff like that to people you love.”
“Yeah. I believed him every time he said it, too,” Y/n said.
“And you still haven’t told him about...?”
“No.”
Kirishima sighed, gesturing vaguely towards the door.
“C’mon, I’ll drive you home,” he said. Y/n nodded, standing up and following Kirishima. When he opened the front door, Bakugo was standing there, seemingly frozen, one hand up as if he were about to knock. “Oh. Bakugo.”
Y/n stared at him dully, watching as his hand limply dropped to his side. He stared at the ground, the usually dense, high walls surrounding his heart crumbling.
“I’m sorry,” he managed to say. “I was stupid. ...I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I had to at least tell you that much.”
“Yeah. You were stupid,” Y/n said bluntly. She sighed, glancing at Kirishima. “Anyways, I’m carrying your child. Ta-ta.”
She walked away swiftly, not giving him a chance to respond. Kirishima jogged off after her, following her to his car.
...Fuck.
=
Bakugo walked towards the room quietly, not quite knowing what to expect.
It had been a while since either of them had contacted each other. After that day, they had slowly stopped talking- Actually, not that slowly. But Bakugo had heard from Sero, who heard from Kaminari, who heard from Kirishima, the time, date, and location of Y/n’s operation.
Too scared of really having a kid, so she’d opted for a C-section instead.
Bakugo hated how he hadn’t been surprised by that. He hated that he still knew Y/n so well. He hated knowing it was his own damn fault he lost her. He hated himself.
The room was quiet when he walked up to the door, which he thought was odd. He’d expected to hear Y/n talking with someone, as happy as ever, most likely Kaminari or Mina, maybe Uraraka or Deku, maybe Jirou or Kirishima. He hadn’t expected silence. It felt wrong.
That is, until he heard gentle cooing.
Actually stepping inside, it was... A heart-wrenching sight, to say the least. For him. To anyone else, it would’ve been cute.
There was Y/n, sleeping peacefully, propped up in a hospital bed, with Kirishima sitting in a chair next to her, a small bundle of blankets in his arms.
He was beaming, absolutely euphoric, it seemed. Bakugo wasn’t even sure he’d ever seen Kirishima so happy.
“You’re so pretty!” He was saying quietly, focused intently on the child in his arms. “Just like your momma, right? Yeah, you are, you cute little thing.”
Bakugo cleared his throat loudly and Kirishima looked up.
“Oh, Bakugo.”
“Nnn... Quiet, Kiri,” Y/n mumbled tiredly. She opened her eyes slowly, surprised when she saw her ex-boyfriend. “Katsuki? What are you doing here?”
Bakugo winced. The way she’d said it cut deep. She didn’t want him there.
“I just... Wanted to meet them,” he said quietly. The stern look on Y/n’s face softened as Kirishima gently handed the newborn to her.
“...C’mere then,” Y/n said. Bakugo walked over to her, entranced by their child. “Isn’t she beautiful? Her name’s Kotomi.”
“Kotomi L/n,” Bakugo said quietly, trying to wrap his head around everything that had happened. He sighed sadly. “I just... I wish she was Kotomi Bakugo. I- I’m sorry, Y/n. ...She’s cute.”
“Well, actually,” Kirishima said slowly. “Kotomi Kirishima. Y/n’ll be changing her own name in just two months, so we decided not to wait with Kotomi’s name. Less work that way.”
“...What?”
“I proposed,” Kirishima stated plainly. “About a month ago, or maybe two.”
“Wh- Since when are you two together? Why didn’t anyone tell me? I- ...Y/n?”
“Kiri loves me,” Y/n said simply. “He’s good to me, and he’d never sleep with someone else. ...And he wants to help me raise this little girl.”
“But- But I could help raise her, too! I mean, she’s mine, isn’t she? I’m her actual dad!”
Kirishima glanced at Y/n nervously. Bakugo? Upset? Never a good combination.
“You gave up that right the moment you took Toru to bed with you,” Y/n said. “You don’t get to be her dad. ...You hurt me, and I’m not letting you hurt her, too.”
Bakugo opened his mouth to protest, but closed it again, knowing she had a point. He bit his lip, the physical pain distracting him, even for just a moment, from the emotional pain.
“Okay,” he said, voice cracking. He grimaced, balling his hands into fists at his sides. He cleared his throat. “Okay. Can I- Can I visit her sometimes? ...Please?”
Y/n exchanged an awkward look with Kirishima- With her fiancé. She sighed heavily.
“Sure,” she said quietly. “She is yours, after all, I suppose.”
Bakugo just nodded, turning to leave the room slowly. He paused in front of the door.
“I hope you’re happy, Y/n,” he said quietly. “I love you. And I’m sorry.”
=
Y/n snuggled up to Kirishima, getting as close as she could under the warm blankets.
“Y/n? You awake?” He whispered, half-hoping she was asleep.
“Sorta,” Y/n mumbled tiredly. “What’s up, Ei?”
“Do you miss Bakugo?” Kirishima asked, getting straight to the point. Y/n hummed contently, hand dancing up and down Kirishima’s back.
“I don’t love him anymore, if that’s what you mean,” she said. She frowned, burying her face in Kirishima’s chest, smiling again when he wrapped his arm around her waist. “It still hurts when I think about what he did, though. He betrayed my trust and broke my heart, but I’m doing so much better now. ‘Cuz I’ve got you.”
Y/n threw one leg over Kirishima’s waist and sat up, straddling him on the bed. He smiled, setting his hands on her hips and squeezing gently.
“I love you, Y/n,” he said softly. Y/n leaned down and kissed him, both of them grinning like lovesick school children.
“Yeah? Well, I love you too, daddy shark.”
Kirishima chuckled, sitting up and adjusting the way Y/n was sitting in his lap.
“I really-”
“Momma? Daddy Ei? I can’ sweep.”
“Kotomi?”
Y/n and Kirishima both turned to see their little girl standing in their bedroom doorway, a teddy bear in hand.
“You can’t sleep?” Kirishima repeated, waving her over. Kotomi crawled up into her parents’ bed, moving herself to sit between them in Kirishima’s lap. “Did something happen?”
Kotomi shook her head.
“I woke up, but I can’ go back to sweep,” she said, leaning back against her mother. “But I’m so sweepy!”
Kirishima took the teddy bear from her, moving its arms like a little puppet.
“Why not sleep in our bed?” He asked, watching Kotomi smile as he made her teddy bear dance. “We’ll have a slumber party!”
“A swumber pa’ty?” She repeated. Y/n wrapped her arms around the little girl between them and kissed the top of her head.
“Yeah,” she said softly. “Maybe Momma can tell you a bedtime story.”
“Oh! Pwetty pwease, can I have a stowy time?” Kotomi asked excitedly, squirming awkwardly and turning around to face her mother.
Y/n nodded, moving to sit next to Kirishima rather than in his lap. Kotomi followed, sitting snugly between the two.
“Am I allowed to help tell stories?” Kirishima asked, tucking the teddy bear into Kotomi’s arms.
“I wike it bette’w when Momma tells ‘em,” Kotomi said. “...You’w bette’w at it than Daddy Katsu’i, though!”
Y/n held back a laugh.
“Yeah? And why’s Daddy Katsuki so bad at telling stories?” She asked, grinning mischievously.
“He’s too noisy,” Kotomi said simply, laying back on the pillow behind her and wriggling under the blankets. “Can you tell me the stowy about Ewi again?”
“You want to hear about Eri again?” Y/n asked. Kotomi nodded and Y/n smiled softly. “Well, once upon a time, there was a little girl with a very powerful quirk named Eri, who lived with a group of evil people who wanted to take her power for themselves. One day, when-”
“She’s already passed out,” Kirishima whispered.
“...She really was pwetty sweepy, I guess,” Y/n said quietly, imitating her daughter. She laid down in the bed again, trying not to move too much and wake up Kotomi.
Kirishima looked down at his two girls, smiley as ever.
“You’re so beautiful, Y/n,” he said quietly. Y/n hummed in satisfaction, closing her eyes and snuggling close to Kotomi. “And she’s so pretty, just like her Momma.”
“Shuddup and sleep, you sap,” Y/n said, grinning to herself.
So, I was at target today and spent 70$ on mostly shark themed baby stuff for my niece's baby. This got me thinking about having baby with daddy shark himself, Kirishima!!!!
This is just a random post about what I would want my baby shower/nursery so look like if I was having a baby with kiri, feel free to join in myself indulgence.
First off, how you tell kiri and/or everyone else!
Of course kiri will cry no matter how you tell him he's gonna be a dad. Now I think he'd be hurt if you waited long enough for this to arrive so maybe you just show him the easy order and use the actual thing to tell friends, family and fans.
Next, the baby shower!
Sharks are perfect cause A)Kiri and B)gender neutral. Even if you find out what you're having before the baby is born, girls can like sharks too! Also, let Bakugou plan the food. You'll be so happy as along as you make him include not spicy stuff.
Next! The nursery!
Once again sharks being gender neutral is handy. Kiri would love to have as many kids as you'll give him, and if it goes his way that means at least a half dozen. At least you won't have to redo the nursery. Plus that shark canopy!!!!! And this will lead to at least one of his little girls running around screaming about how sharks are good for the ocean and generally leave people alone and how they shouldn't have such bad reputations and 'how it's just not fair!!! Poor Sharkey babies!!!!!'
Lastly, clothes and accessories!!!!
Kiri will have a matching onsie and at least one set of family photos will have everyone in shark themed clothes! Just picture kiri and his bakers dozen worth of kids all in shark costumes!!!! It melts the heart! And the shark blanket was a gift from best uncle Bakugou!!!!!

It’d been a long, tedious day filled with police interviews and paperwork, Bakugou’s two least favourite aspects of hero work.
At least it was all over now… All he had to worry about for the next twelve hours or so was spending as much quality time as possible with his family. To make the most of every minute, he strode down the hallway of his apartment building as fast as he could without breaking into a run. Last time he’d given into the urge to sprint the last few yards to his door, he’d almost knocked the little old lady from 314 over in his haste. Kirishima had given him an earful about that; “You can’t go around knocking over little old ladies and yelling ‘move it extra!’ just because you want baby cuddles, Katsu!” He inwardly snorted at the memory, still not sure why his husband cared about the miserable old witch in the first place. Still, it’d do him no favours to land himself in Eijiro’s bad bad books tonight, the last thing he wanted right now was an argument.
He took a deep, calming breath as he stopped outside of his apartment. He didn’t want to blast in there and start ranting about his day in case the baby was asleep.
The second Bakugou opened the door, he was immediately greeted by the smell of something delicious drifting from the kitchen area and the beautiful sight of his husband bouncing their son on his knee. This was the epitome of domestic bliss. Who’d have ever imagined the explosive hero, Dynamight would have turned into this guy? Someone knew that no amount of hero victories could make him feel as fulfilled and accomplished as returning home to his family.
“Look Mako, papa is home!” Kirishima beamed, adjusting the baby so that the crimson-eyed infant was facing the front door of the apartment.
Bakugou immediately kicked off his boots and dropped his backpack to the floor as he glanced over it at his husband and son. “Another one, shitty hair?” He sighed, gesturing at the baby’s shirt which had the word ‘Dynamight’ emblazoned across the chest. “This kid has more of my merchandise than the rest of Japan put together.”
Eijiro simply smiled proudly. “I didn’t actually buy this one!” He mumbled, gently offering out the gurgling baby for Bakugou to take him. “My moms dropped it off along with a batch of ‘leftovers’ so that we didn’t have to cook tonight.
Katsuki managed not to growl out loud as he took baby Makoto from his husband. He knew his mother-in-laws too well. There’s no way that the delicious-smelling food in the oven was leftovers, it’d clearly been made especially for them. He wasn’t going to complain, though, he didn’t feel like cooking and as much as he hated handouts, home-cooked meals were always preferable to take-out.
“Your grandparents spoil us too much, Mako…” The blonde man grumbled as he cuddled his son close to his chest. Katsuki would probably never get used to this feeling of overwhelming love that always bubbled up inside his chest every time he held the little one. “I swear you look more like your daddy every day, baby shark.” He observed out loud, studying Makoto’s very Kirishima-like face. The only thing about his son that resembled Bakugou so far, was the fluffy texture of the baby’s hair. He’d inherited Kirishima’s natural raven colour but the way it puffed out like a tiny explosion around Makoto’s chubby face was undoubtedly a quality that Bakugou had passed on.
“Well maybe the next one will look more like you.” Eijiro grinned, rising to his feet before placing a kiss to Bakugou’s cheek.
“You can’t already be thinking about baby number two, Ei.” Katsuki huffed. “This one is barely six months old.”
Giggling, Kirishima tickled his son under his tiny chin. “It’s never too early to start thinking about giving you a baby brother or sister, is it Mako?” He cooed, eliciting a happy little gurgle from the infant. “See…” The redhead smirked as he turned to head into the kitchen. “He agrees.”
“Well he’s not going to be the one paying for it, is he?” Katsuki complained, following his husband across the open-plan sitting room. Even though he couldn’t see Kirishima’s face, he could practically hear the eye roll the redhead was undoubtedly doing as he made his way over to the kitchen.
“It’s not like we can’t afford it, Katsu.” Eijiro shrugged. “You’re the number two hero and I’m well on my way to scraping into the top ten.”
Bakugou bristled, he fucking hated being reminded that he was still only second best in the rankings. That shitty nerd, Deku’s days at the top were numbered, though. Bakugou would make damn sure of that, he would be number one soon. The only thing that annoyed him more than that, was the subtly defeated tone that his husband always used when he talked about his own hero ranking. “You’re fucking better than 11th place, I really don’t know how the fuck specky engine legs beat you in the last…”
“Stop swearing, papa!” Kirishima insisted, keeping his voice light as he shot a wink at their son, who was still gurgling softly in Bakugou’s arms. “If the first word out of our baby’s mouth is a profanity I’ll never forgive you.”
Despite the forced softness in Eijiro’s voice, Bakugou knew that his husband was serious. “I’m just mad about it!” He growled, placing Makoto into his highchair at the kitchen table, ignoring the infant’s protests at being put down. “You’re better than that ass-” He stopped mid-sentence when Kirishima gave him a warning glare. “You’re better than him, is all I’m saying.” Bakugou corrected himself as he strapped the baby into his seat.
“I’m not as hung up on the numbers as you are, babe.” Kirishima reassured him. “I only brought up the rankings because it proves that we’re both performing well in our jobs.” He explained, grabbing a pair of oven gloves from the countertop. “As long as we’re earning enough to afford a nice place to live, we can afford to start putting some more savings aside for baby number two.”
Bakugou knew that his husband was right. It’d taken them years to save up for the private treatment they’d needed to make baby Makoto. The clinical companies that researched and implemented quirk technology for reproductive purposes definitely didn’t offer their services for nothing.
As soon as Kirishima registered his husband’s thoughtful silence, he immediately tried to break it. “We can discuss it later, though, babe.” He smiled over his shoulder. “Dinner’s almost ready, why don’t you go and get changed while I finish up, yeah?”
Nodding dutifully, Bakugou pecked a kiss to Makoto’s fluffy head before traipsing down the hallway to his bedroom. The prospect of having another baby talk with Eijiro so soon after having their first son, wasn’t something the blonde man had been expecting. He’d hoped for at least a year or so of just enjoying being a family of three, before they had to start planning for mini DynaRiot number two. Not being able to reproduce naturally on their own didn't give them too much freedom, though. There was always going to be an element of forward-planning, both logistically and financially, every time they wished to increase their family size.
It wasn’t that Bakugou didn’t want more kids. In fact, he sort of had his heart set on having a rather big family as the world needed as many mini Kirishima’s as it could get. He’d never say that out loud to anyone other than his husband, though. He couldn’t have people thinking he was turning into a huge sap!
Despite all of that, Katsuki didn’t want to rush into having another baby. Balancing his and Kiri’s work schedules with childcare was difficult enough with one baby, he wasn’t sure he could cope with double the stress yet.
He thought about it the whole time it took him to change into a pair of sweats and one of Eijiro’s old Crimson Riot t-shirts. It wasn’t going to be easy to tell his husband all of this. Kirishima always made the most heart-breaking facial expressions whenever they talked about any of the struggles surrounding their family plans.
It was all weighing quite heavily on Bakugou’s mind as he headed out of the bedroom. He’d almost made it to the door when something on the ground near the waste paper basket caught his eye. Curious as to what it was, the blonde leant down to pick it up. He realised immediately that it was a till receipt. Allowing his curiosity to get the better of him, Katsuki unfolded the crumpled paper and scanned over the print. It was from a store in their local mall that sold predominantly hero merchandise. The only item listed on the receipt was a ‘Dynamight baby shirt’.
Having received many presents for himself from them over the years, Bakugou knew that neither of his mothers-in-law would ever make the rookie mistake of leaving a cash receipt in with a gift. That could only mean that Kirishima lied - that it was really him that brought the latest piece of Dynamight merch for their son.
Bakugou had found it heartwarming, the first few times that Eijiro had purchased Bakugou’s merchandise for Mako, but now it just seemed to be getting ridiculous. The kid always seemed to be wearing something ‘Dynamight’ themed and Katsuki definitely thought it was time for a change.
Sure, it was sweet that Kirishima wanted to dec his kid out in stuff from his other parent’s brand, but in Bakugou’s mind, there was a little more to it than that. Ei would buy Mako merch from his friends too, the baby had everything from ‘Cellophane’ sweaters to ‘Real Steel’ sneakers, not to mention the ‘Chargebolt’ sunglasses and ‘Pinky’ sun hats. Yet he had hardly anything that bore the ‘Red Riot’ slogan. Katsuki had, of course, brought his son a babygro from his husband’s brand here and there, but he didn’t feel like it was enough anymore. The main thing that bugged Bakugou, though, was the fact that he knew there was an underlying reason why Kirishima chose to celebrate every other hero they knew, but not himself.
It was that damned self-conscious voice in the back of Eijiro’s mind that constantly told him he wasn’t as worthy of his success as his friends were.
It’s all Bullshit!
Mumbling to himself, Bakugou grabbed his phone from the dresser he’d left it on a few moments ago. If Kirishima wasn’t going to revel in his own success, the rest of his family and friends would have to do it for him.
***
Kirishima didn’t mention the prospect of having a second child again that evening, or throughout the following week. That was good, because it meant Bakugou had been able to focus fully on ‘operation hype Red Riot’.
He’d ordered a bunch of stuff online and then waited until he had a full day off. As luck would have it, Kirishima happened to be working a 9-5 shift that day. From the second Ei had left the apartment that morning, Katsuki had initiated the final stage of his plan. He proceeded to pin up all of the ‘Red Riot’ posters he’d purchased in Mako’s nursery before arranging the various plushies on top of the dresser.
Now that the time Eijiro should return home was drawing closer, it was time to put Makoto in his extra special ‘Red Riot’ T-shirt and of course, for Katsuki to change into his own. He didn’t show this level of support as often as he probably should, so he made sure to go hard this time.
“Okay, Minishima.” Katsuki sighed, removing the generic t-shirt he’d put the baby in earlier. “It’s time to give your daddy a big welcome home, okay?”
Makoto simply blew a huge raspberry and closed one of his chubby little fists around a strand of his father’s hair.
“You know I’ve exploded people for touching my hair before, pipsqueek.” He muttered, don’t think I’ll let you get away with it just because you’re my son…”
Makoto grinned widely as he yanked on the lock of blonde hair with far more force than Bakugou had ever expected a child of his age could possess. “Ow, shit, Mako!” He cursed, detangling his hair from the infant’s fingers before grabbing the fresh new t-shirt that he’d laid out on the bed.
The baby giggled so hard that he almost toppled backwards onto the bed covers. Even Bakugou couldn’t be angry at a kid that cute. Makoto really did look like a tiny 3D printout of Kirishima, especially when he laughed. Now there were two people in the world that could melt Katsuki’s cold heart.
“And your dad wants us to have another…” The blonde man grumbled. “I’ll end up as soft as he is!”
He was well aware of the irony of his statement. It was a long-standing joke within their relationship, that Kirishima’s quirk is completely out of character, because he’s the sappiest human alive. Eijiro’s cheeks always went pink when Bakugou said stuff like that and it was too fucking cute. He couldn’t even begin to imagine how adorable it’d be when Makoto could blush at compliments like his dad did.
Luckily Makoto didn’t protest too much at having his shirt changed so Bakugou was able to get himself changed into the rare Red Riot T-Shirt, that he’d managed to win through an online auction, just in time before the sound of the front door opening and closing echoed around the apartment.
“Where are my best boys?” Eijiro called, his tone as cheerful as ever.
“Here, small fry…” Katsuki whispered to his son as he thrust a tiny teddy bear dressed in the most recent ‘Red Riot’ costume into the baby’s hands. “Look as cute as you can, okay?”
Of cause, he knew that Makoto didn’t understand a word of what he’s just sid, but lucky for him, the kid was always fucking adorable. The infant gurgled loudly as he waved the bear up and down, slamming it into the bed covers repeatedly.
“Ah there you are!” Kirishima beamed, appearing in the bedroom doorway with his trademark, shark-toothed grin painted across his handsome face. “What’re you both hiding out in here for?”
“We weren’t hiding out, shitty hair.” Katsuki huffed, hastily scooping up Makoto so that the prints across the baby’s shirt and his own, were hidden before he turned to face his husband. “We were just about to take Mako’s new toy back to his nursery.”
“Ooohhh, what new toy do you have there, buddy?” Eijiro asked, taking a closer look at the bear in his son’s hand.
It would have been difficult for anyone not to melt at the soft, emotional expression that painted Kirishima’s face as he realised what his son was playing with, so Katsuki wasn’t ashamed of the fond smile that curled the corners of his lips.
“He’s actually had a bunch of new toys today, haven’t you, baby shark?” Bakugou said as he led the way down the hall towards Makoto’s room. “I think even a dumbass like you might be able to guess the theme...”
If Katsuki had thought that his husband’s reaction to the one teddy bear Mako had been holding, was adorable, he had absolutely no words for the look of pure joy and surprise on Eijiro’s face as he stepped into the nursery to find all of his son’s new ‘Red Riot’ toys and decorations.
“What’s all this?” The redhead asked, a thickness in his voice betraying just how moved he was by the gesture.
“Our son has two favourite heroes.” Bakugou said, as though it was the most obvious thing in the whole world. “And he needed to even out his collection a bit.”
“Is that right?” Eijiro asked, discreetly wiping his eyes on the sleeve of his sweater. “Here I was thinking you were just the world’s biggest Dynamight fan, Mako.” He giggled.
Katsuki huffed impatiently. “He’s the son of the two best heroes the world has to offer, so he’ll damn well celebrate both of them until he grows up and takes the top spot for himself.”
Kirishima let out another watery chuckle as he stroked his son’s cheek. “I guess that's fair, huh little buddy?”
“Of course it’s fair!” Bakugou confirmed. “Now go and get cleaned up, dinner will be ready soon.”
Before Eijiro could argue that he wanted a few minutes, Katsuki pecked a quick kiss to husband’s lips and headed off to the sitting room with Makoto. He knew that he had just long enough to set up the big shirt reveals, but he couldn’t waste a single second.
The only certain way to ensure that Eijiro saw each shirt exactly when Bakugou wanted him to, was to put their son in his high chair, which faced away from the entrance to the room, and it took a moment or two to strap him into it.
As always, Makoto protested a little at being confined in his high chair. Even though he was starting to realise that it meant food was imminent, he still seemed to hate having his movements so restricted.
“I don’t know why you make so much fuss, kid.” Bakugou grumbled. “You can’t even crawl yet, so I don’t know what difference it makes whether you’re here or on the carpet!”
After a couple of minutes of gentle persuasion, Makoto finally resigned himself to having to spend the next half hour or so strapped in one place. The Red Riot bear seemed to help as it provided a welcome distraction for the irritated infant.
Just as he heard Eijiro leave the bedroom, Katsuki took his place behind the counter that separated the kitchen from the rest of the main room of the apartment. He ensured that the print on his t-shirt was fully visible, whilst simultaneously attempting to look as though that wasn’t his primary intention. To accomplish it, he simply pretended to be wiping down the surfaces, even though he’d already done all of that as soon as he’d finished his food prep.
“Mmmm dinner smells delicious, babe.” Kirishima smiled as he traipsed in from the hallway.
“You would say that...” Katsuki mumbled, sparing his husband a quick glance. “It has meat in it.”
“Well you know me so well, ba-” Eijiro’s lighthearted reply was cut short as his eyes fell on his husband’s t-shirt. “Katsuki…” He gasped. “This was one of the first ever t-shirts that got made when I became a pro hero.” He reminisced. “You were mad because not many got made and by the time you found out I had merch out, they were all gone.”
“Don’t even remind me, dumbass!” Bakugou growled. He hated remembering a time when Kirishima’s self confidence and self belief were even lower than they were now. He’d never understand why someone as incredible as Kirishima hadn’t been excited enough about the launch of his first wave of merchandise to tell his then-boyfriend about it.
It wasn’t something Bakugou liked to think about very often because it made him angry, not at Kirishima, but at whatever had happened to make him doubt himself so much.
Blushing, Eijiro crossed the room and engulfed his husband in a bone-crushing hug. “You’re the sweetest person in the world Katsu.” He whispered lovingly. “I know you’ll never accept that part of yourself, but it’ll always be one of my favourite things about you. It’s like a special, hidden little portion of you that only I ever get to see.”
“I‘m just doing what a good husband should do.” He retorted. “Besides, I was your biggest fan before Minishima came along. Just thought you might need reminding of that.”
Kirishima smiled fondly, pecking a kiss to Katsuki’s lips. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone, Bakubabe.”
Even though he and Kirishima had kissed thousands of times during their decade-long relationship, the blonde still felt every bit as intoxicated as he had the first time, all those years ago. The cutesy pet name also continued to make his tummy flip, although he made sure to make a distasteful face whenever Eijiro used it.
As if on cue, Makoto made an impatient sound as he threw his Red Riot bear down on the ground in protest at having been ignored for a moment.
“He’s as needy as you are.” Bakugou scoffed as Eijiro reluctantly pulled away from the kiss. “Better go and give your other biggest fan some attention.”
Kirishima’s eyes sparkled with something like pride. Katsuki wasn’t sure exactly what his husband was proud of at that moment, but it was nice to see. He made sure to watch the redhead closely as he headed over to the baby, he didn’t want to miss Eijiro’s reaction when he saw what his son was wearing.
“Ah, you have my shirt on too, huh buddy!” Kirishima grinned, his face lighting up even brighter than it had done at seeing that Bakugou had been wearing one. “Oh, what does this say under the picture?” He asked quietly, as though he was talking to himself more than anyone else. “Manliest Big Brother…” Kirishima read out loud, his brow furrowed until the words sunk in and his jaw went slack as he turned his startled gaze towards Katsuki. “I thought…”
“If we’re going to have that big family you’ve always dreamt of, then we need to get a move on don’t we?” Katsuki replied, suppressing the excitement that bubbled up inside of him.
“Katsu…” Kirishima gasped, straightening up to his full height and beckoning his husband over. “You really mean it?”
“I wouldn’t have gotten the kid that shirt if I didn’t.” He replied simply.
A happy tear rolled down Eijiro’s face as he kissed the bonde man once more. “As soon as we put Mako to bed, I’m gonna show you just how much all of this means to me.”
There was no doubt in Bakugou’s mind what the sparkle in husband’s eyes meant. “I was hoping you’d say that, you big idiot.” He smirked. “If only we could get knocked up doing that, it’d save us a lot of time and trouble.”
Eijiro laughed before wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. “Doesn’t mean we can’t pretend, does it?”

The Precious Diamond on the Swing
Summary: The swings at the local park always had a special place in both Kirishima and his daughter’s heart.
Author’s Note: Hello everyone! I’m pleased to share with you all my seventh story for @bnhabookclub’s Hero Camp Bingo event. This story is my second longest and the bingo prompt used was “Domestic.” I actually hit bingo :D! However, the event is still not over until August 31st. Hopefully I can churn out another two bingo stories.
Anyways, it’s been a while since I wrote something for Kirishima. When I saw the prompt, my mind went for him and I started brainstorming. This was the end result. Please note: Kirishima is a pro-hero and father!
I hope you all enjoy :)
Word Count: 3K+
Puffy white clouds floated leisurely across the peaceful blue sky. The sun’s rays burst through the clouds, basking the quiet playground under a soft glow. A two-year-old boy explored the gigantic sandbox with his father perched at the edge. Three friends chased each other by the jungle gym, their laughter lingering in the warm spring air.
Ishiko Kirishima was not interested in the sandbox nor the jungle gym. Instead, she cared for the lovely swing-set that sat at the far corner of the playground. Kirishima parked the stroller by the fence and carried his eight-month-old daughter toward the swings. There were only two seats, both colored red and sturdy as a metal plank.
“You’ll take a seat on daddy’s lap, princess,” Kirishima cooed, securing his massive arm around Ishiko’s tiny frame. Her chubby fingers curled eagerly against Kirishima’s hand. In her left grasp was the baby’s favorite silicone teether—a shark toy from Red Riot’s baby collection; unsurprisingly, it was covered in drool. She shoved it back in her mouth to continue her mindless chewing.
“Don’t swing too fast, okay?”
“I won’t, hun, she’s in good hands!”
Kirishima flashed you his signature smile and bounced his knee to get his baby girl excited. You stood on the side with your phone, ready to take endless pictures. Kicking his foot back, Kirishima gently rocked the swing to start the fun. Soon he swung to the rhythm of his heartbeat in hopes of not overwhelming his daughter.
“Oh my gosh, she’s loving it!” You squealed, snapping pictures of Ishiko’s adorable smile. A gurgled laugh rang into the air, and Kirishima’s heart swelled when he heard it. The sound was merely innocent, just like her soul. Kirishima held his daughter closer as he added an extra kick to the swing’s pace.
“Of course she loves it!” Kirishima beamed down at Ishiko. “My little princess is the most manliest baby in this park. She’s not afraid of a little swing!”
Kirishima refused to stop the joyride. If the swings made Ishiko happy, then he’ll gladly swing for all eternity. His numb butt would just have to deal with it.

“Ishiko!”
Kirishima’s red eyes searched through the massive jungle gym for his little girl. Her giggles echoed from a tunnel, and she scurried across the wobbly wooden bridge. Kirishima’s hand playfully tried to nab her through the free space between the columns. A lopsided grin stretched on his face as Ishiko jumped away from his claws. Eventually, the five-year-old stopped squirming and grabbed the thin pillars to hold herself still.
“Daddy, you are silly!”
“I can be even more silly!” He lurched forward to tickle the girl’s stomach. She giggled loud enough for everyone in the block to hear. Kirishima shifted the book-bag that was sliding down his shoulder. “C’mon, princess, we have to go. Mommy is almost coming home, and we want to surprise her, right?”
“No!”
“Princess…”
“I wanna keep playing!”
Kirishima bit his lip, glancing around the nearly empty playground for an answer. A lightbulb went off in his head when he spotted something. He smiled, “Ishiko, do you want me to push you on the swings?”
That got her attention as she flew down the maze-like jungle gym like no tomorrow. She made a break toward the swing-set, her worn-out sneakers pounding the pavement. Kirishima ran after Ishiko while shaking his head. She wasted no time climbing on the seat, her tiny legs swaying back and forth to a song she heard at school.
Ishiko chirped, “Push me, daddy!”
“Okay, but hold on tight,” he said, pulling the swing back. Kirishima let go and watched as Ishiko went forward. His hand pushed lightly on the girl’s back. At first, it was not so bad keeping up with the pace. Except, Ishiko demanded to go faster. Kirishima pursed his lips, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, daddy! I wanna be a bird!”
“Fine, but only for a few minutes. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Yay!”
Kirishima pushed a little harder. His nerves disappeared when he heard Ishiko’s delightful squeals coming and going with each swing that passed him. A soft grin appeared on his face as he saw how carefree Ishiko looked. Something about her laugh and smile made him feel so content, as if he was floating in the clouds above. It helped him forget about the never-ending stress and chaos that came with his hero work. None of that existed whenever he was with his daughter.
Lost in his thoughts, Kirishima blinked when Ishiko shouted, “I can reach the sky, daddy!”
His daughter’s left hand let go of the chain to grab the clouds. She lost her balance mid-air and fell forward. Kirishima shifted into hero mode, rushing to save his little girl, but was too late; she hit the ground face first. Panic rushed through his veins as he scrambled down to his knees, bracing himself for the worst.
However, his shaky hands stilled when he saw a crystallized arm. Kirishima carefully turned Ishiko’s body around and sighed in relief when confused eyes stared back at him. She glanced down, her mouth in awe at the light bouncing off her arms. Kirishima traced his finger along the visible lines across her diamond face; he was speechless at the new revelation.
“Daddy…what’s going on?” Ishiko was afraid, and Kirishima immediately comforted her with a bear hug.
“Oh, Ishiko, are you okay?!” The likelihood of finding any scratches or injuries was close to none, but his parental anxiety was off the charts. Out of instinct, Kirishima tried brushing her hair, except it was solid as well. Bringing her to his chest, he exhaled, “Oh honey, you scared me, but I’m glad you’re not hurt.”
“Why do I feel hard?”
“It’s your quirk, princess!”
“My…quirk?” Ishiko pulled away to examine her hands. Her fingers sparkled under the sun’s rays, and she giggled. Looking up, she beamed, “I got my quirk! I feel hard like you, daddy! Look, look!”
Kirishima nearly burst out into tears of joy.

“Don’t worry, hun, I’ll take care of dinner,” Kirishima soothed your nerves. You called him saying you’ll be stuck at work for another hour. A massive business deal had gone sour due to some miscommunication. Your team was trying to salvage it, and you stepped away from the madness to apologize to your husband about coming home late.
Kirishima hugged the grocery bag in his grasp. The walking-man appeared, and he crossed the street with a grin. “Besides, I’m gonna cook a delicious meal for my favorite two darlings! If anything, I call this a win.”
The call was cut short when you had an urgent meeting to attend. Kirishima said a quick ‘love you’ before hanging up. He took a cheerful step. Kirishima always admired your unwavering dedication and confidence. No challenge was too daunting for you, closing business deals with ease despite some hiccups. Kirishima was lucky to be your husband and have you as Ishiko’s mother. You were an incredible role-model to her. As a result, your daughter was growing up to be much like you—resilient, driven, and independent.
The last one was very much true.
Kirishima understood this was bound to happen. Ishiko was growing up, turning thirteen two weeks ago. But he silently wished she didn’t grow up too fast. The pro hero missed taking Ishiko to the neighborhood park, watching his little diamond—a new nickname after her quirk manifested eight years ago—playing in the sandbox or jungle gym.
He especially missed pushing her on the swing.
Turning around the corner, Kirishima passed by the park that swam in his thoughts. He casually glanced to his left and stopped when he saw Ishiko. She was sitting on the swing, sliding her shoes on the ground. Three friends from school were with her chatting up a storm. One of them felt Kirishima’s gaze and let Ishiko know.
The teenager jogged toward her father. She greeted, “Hey, dad. I see mom called you.”
“Yup, I’m on dinner duty tonight!” He went into a heroic pose, puffing out his chest. Ishiko groaned in embarrassment. Kirishima laughed, “Oh c’mon, you love it when I do the poses!”
“Yeah, when I was like seven,” Ishiko snorted, rolling her eyes. Kirishima feigned being hurt, and his daughter shook her head. “I’ll be home in ten minutes to help you out with dinner.”
“Oh, honey, you don’t have to do that—”
“But I want to help.”
“Well,” Kirishima scratched the back of his head, “I can’t argue with that.”
Ishiko beamed and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. She ran back to her friends, and took her seat at the swing. Suddenly, the sun broke through the clouds. Kirishima was mesmerized at the soft glow shining down at Ishiko; she was radiant, and her glorious smile made the flowers bloom.
Out of nowhere, Kirishima was staring at Ishiko except she was five again. A wave of nostalgia hit him like a bullet train. She was soaring high on the swing, her contagious laughter melting his heart in seconds. The bright sun blinded his eyes, and he blinked—the little girl was gone. He was back in the present with Ishiko swinging lightly in the distance.
Kirishima held back his tears.
His precious diamond was growing up.

There were a lot of “firsts” when it came to raising children.
First baby steps, first baby tooth falls off, the first day of school, first crush—the list went on and on. Except none of them hurt Kirishima so much like Ishiko’s first heartbreak.
She returned home from U.A. for the weekend with disheartening eyes that shrunk the pro hero’s giddy smile. Ishiko didn’t utter a word as she stormed into her old room, slamming the door behind her. It shook the entire house and left Kirishima confused. Narrowing his eyes, he stood up from the couch to figure out what was wrong, but you laid a gentle hand on his arm.
“Give her some space, Eiji.”
“But she’s upset!”
“Which is why she needs to be alone,” you said, giving him a quick squeeze. Kirishima sent a longing gaze at the doorway. Sighing, he begrudgingly plopped down on the sofa. You snuggled closer to your brooding husband, planting a kiss on his cheek. “I know it’s hard, but she’ll let us know what’s bothering her when she’s ready. Although, I think I already have an idea…”
“Which is?”
“First heartbreak.” Kirishima went stiff at the answer. You rested your head on his shoulder and mumbled, “Those eyes don’t lie.”
Ishiko didn’t leave her room for a while. Kirishima decided to buy some ingredients to make Ishiko’s favorite meal for dinner. He hoped it would cheer her up, even for just a little bit. When he returned home, you mentioned that Ishiko stepped out for some fresh air at the local playground. Kirishima dropped the grocery bags and flew out the door without looking back.
The glowing sun slowly sank behind the houses sitting in the distance. A vibrant golden and amber color illuminated across the cloudless sky, blessing the neighborhood with a peaceful scenery. Kirishima nearly snorted at the ironic mood.
He skidded to a halt when he arrived at the entrance. An old couple was strolling around, but Kirishima searched for his daughter. The hero found her sitting on the swing with drooped shoulders and a bowed head. Both of Kirishima’s fists clenched at the young girl’s presence. However, he swallowed his anger as it wasn’t the right time.
His baby was hurt and needed comfort.
So, Kirishima treaded carefully to the swings. Ishiko’s head twitched when she heard soft footsteps, and peeked at the familiar shoes standing by the small entrance. Kirishima approached the quivering girl, resting his large hand on her shoulder. Ishiko finally looked up at her father with puffy red eyes—she was crying again.
“C’mon here, princess,” Kirishima whispered, his arms opening up for support. Ishiko’s face crashed into his chest as her arms wrapped around him. She wept loudly, the tears staining his shirt although Kirishima didn’t care. He simply hugged her tighter and rubbed circles on her back, murmuring, “It’s okay, daddy’s got you.”
He never let go.

A small ball of light gleamed in the sky. It grew more prominent in size, the sun’s rays glowing behind the houses and trees on the quiet streets. Everyone was sound asleep except for Kirishima—he was enjoying his daily morning run. Staying in tip-top shape was necessary for the pro hero, especially for a middle-aged man like himself. But he was still energetic as ever, which put a few young heroes to shame.
Kirishima came to a slow stop after reaching his goal for today. He wiped the sweat off his forehead with a satisfied grin. The street was bathed under the sun’s soft glow, and Kirishima strolled back home. He couldn’t wait to take a nice warm shower before heading to work today.
As usual, Kirishima walked by the neighborhood park. However, he paused when his eyes noticed someone by the swings. Blinking twice, he realized it was Ishiko. A puzzled look crossed his face, and he walked toward her.
“Hey, honey, whatcha doing up so early?”
“Just watching the sunrise, that’s all,” she answered softly, almost afraid to wake up anyone. Her left hand gripped the chain while the other rested on her lap. Kirishima arched an eyebrow, but said nothing.
The hero took a seat on the empty swing beside his daughter. He then followed her gaze at the rising sun.
A peaceful silence settled between the father-daughter duo. Some birds were finally awake, their wings flapping to find breakfast for the day. A small chirp caught Ishiko’s attention. There was a nest sitting high on the tree’s thick branch, and a baby bird was by the edge. It seemed old enough to fly on its own, but appeared hesitant to leave the nest.
“Dad…” Kirishima stared at his daughter, hearing her voice crack a little. Ishiko met his gaze and sighed, “Do you ever feel…nervous? Like, so much to the point that you can’t sleep?”
“Many times,” he hummed truthfully, and fondly remembered when you were pregnant with Ishiko. He was a mess as the due date inched closer, and jittered like a frantic cat when your water broke at three in the morning. The corner of his mouth curled in amusement at the memory. He gently asked, “What’s on your mind, princess?”
“The hero exchange program.” Ishiko’s feet drag themselves on the ground, her head slightly low. “I know this is an amazing opportunity. I get to work alongside an incredible American pro hero and their team and maybe learn some new skills. But I feel…scared.”
Kirishima stayed quiet. Ishiko’s hand curled tighter on her lap as she quivered, “I’ll be living on the other side of the world for a year. Everyone I know will stay here—including you and mom. I have never been so far away from you guys in my life. I guess it’s finally sinking in now that I’m leaving this Friday.”
“It’s always hard facing the unknown,” Kirishima started, his posture straightens up. “You don’t know what’s going to happen, but you can always count on yourself to get through it. I know you can. You’ve always been strong and courageous, Ishiko.”
He pulled out his cellphone to show her a particular photo. It was the one you took many years ago when Ishiko was only eight months old. She was sitting on Kirishima’s lap, and on the very same swing she swayed right now.
Kirishima chuckled, “No matter how fast I rocked, you never cried.”
“That’s ‘cause you were holding me.”
“True,” he shrugged as the sun peeked through the trees. “But then you started sitting on your own. I’d push you as high and fast as I could. Eventually, you began to swing on your own. No matter what, you’d let out the most precious laughs every time you reached the sky. You were so confident with yourself that I smiled from the sides.”
Tears glistened in Kirishima’s eyes once the floodgates opened. All of his memories with Ishiko came crashing with a force that not even his unbreakable form could resist. Ishiko mirrored her father’s emotional reaction, little sniffles echoing into the early morning hours. Kirishima soon reached out to squeeze her hand—a tender, but powerful gesture.
“Your mother and I are so proud of who you’ve become,” Kirishima choked out a smile, caressing his thumb on her skin. “We raised you to be a formidable young woman who carries her strength with grace. I know you’ll stand confidently wherever you go. But I’ll always be in your heart if you ever need a little push.”
Ishiko wiped away her tears, standing up to hug her father. Kirishima met her halfway and pulled his daughter into a warm embrace. He raised her, protected her, and held her for eighteen years. She was a constant presence in his life, a ray of light shining brighter than any star in the universe. Despite the pain in his heart, Kirishima realized it was time to let go of his precious diamond to the whole world.
Yet, no matter how old Ishiko becomes, she will forever remain Kirishima’s little girl in his eyes.
“Hey, dad?” A deep hum rumbled through his chest. She pulled away and flashed him a faint smile. The following question made his heart stop when he heard: “Can you push me on the swing?”
After his shock, he grinned, “Of course.”
Ishiko eagerly hopped on the swing as if she were five years old again. The sun basked the entire park under its golden blanket, waking up the flowers from their deep slumber. Kirishima pulled his daughter back before giving a soft push to start the swing. The little bird in the nest chirped and flapped its wings. Soon it took the ultimate step to leave the nest, soaring proudly in the air filled with Ishiko’s innocent laughter.
Kirishima continued pushing his daughter on the swing. He once promised to gladly swing with her as a little baby. Now he’ll keep that promise by pushing her forever if it made her happy.
His sore arm would just have to deal with it.
Seventh prompt crossed off. Which one will be next? Stay tune! Thank you for reading!

Angel with a shotgun part 1
Summary: Bakugo is currently on medical leave due to a recent villain attack. While going through the process of being cleared, Kirishima asks him for a favor and it leads to more than Bakugo asked for.

“No.”
“Come on! It’s just me watching him this week! Please!”
“I said fucking no.”
“Fujio loves you! He would be so excited to see his Uncle Suki pick him up!”
Bakugo’s eyebrow twitched hearing the name Kirishima’s brat called him. “I’m not his uncle…”
“Bro, come on! I won’t get there in time to get him! And you aren’t doing anything since-”
“Okay! Fucking fine!” Bakugo hung up on Kirishima before he could continue. He knew what that hair-for-brains was going to say. Bakugo looked down at the thick wraps around his arms and hands, glaring at them like he could scare his injuries away like he did with villains. He had been put on rest after using his quirk too much and causing internal damage to his nerves and muscles. After winning his last fight, he’d fallen to the ground from the intense pain in his arms and shoulders.
For days, he’d lain in a hospital bed, unable to move his fingers without any pain. He was finally discharged and had to do physical therapy in order to be cleared to continue hero work… for the next three fucking months.
Bakugo threw on his shoes and stepped out into the cool spring air. He took a deep breath, realizing that he’d needed a breath of fresh air. “I guess picking up the fucking brat is better than sitting around doing shit.”
Looking up at the night sky, Bakugo thought about the reason he was out at 9:30 at night. Three years ago, Kirishima’s first son, Fujio, was born. The little shit was just like his dad, clinging to him for no apparent reason and constantly annoying him. And, though, Bakugo would never admit it out loud, he actually liked the mini hair-for-brains. It’s especially fun to teach the kid different ways of using curse words so Kirishima would get in trouble with his wife. What will he teach him tonight?
A mischievous grin grew on his face as he walked down the street with his hands in his pockets. No one was around to see him but he still pulled up his hood just in case; he didn’t want to be delayed by some stupid fans that couldn’t take a hint. He quickened his steps as he passed people, making his way to the stupid daycare.
Bakugo made it to the daycare in 30 minutes on foot; he sent Kirishima a quick text that he was there and would be staying at Kirishima’s house for the night since his house was closer than Bakugo’s. Then he stepped inside, squinting his eyes as they adjusted to the light. When they finally did, what he saw made him want to turn away in disgust.
The place was covered in sickeningly cheerful and bright decorations. Everything smiled. Even the fucking flowers and clouds… He rolled his eyes, hoping to get out of there as soon as possible. “Oi, I’m here to pick up Kirishima Fujio.” Bakugo shouted down the hall for a worker. No one came… Bakugo’s shoulders dropped as he groaned up at the ceiling. “Fucking fine.”
Kicking off his shoes, Bakugo shuffled down the hall to where a door marked “Toddlers 3-4” was and opened it. He opened his mouth to yell but instantly bit his tongue when he saw the room had a few children asleep on mats. Bakugo was an asshole, but not that big of an asshole.
He was looking around the room for someone who worked there when the door to the bathroom opened and a little girl stepped out with a woman wearing an apron covered in cartoon characters. “Do you feel better now Ai-chan?” A gentle voice whispered through the room. The little girl looked up at the worker, tears in her eyes as she shook her head. “Would you like to hear a story?”
The worker picked her up and before she could turn around to see Bakugo, he backed up into the hall and hid behind the door. “Wait, why did I hide?” Bakugo whispered to himself. He peeked around the corner to see the worker with the little girl in her lap in a rocking chair, holding a children’s book out in front of them.
“‘Once there was a lion asleep in the forest, his great head resting on his paws. A timid mouse came upon him unexpectedly…’” Bakugo found himself leaning against the doorframe, listening to the stupid story. That voice was so…soothing. He watched the woman gently caress the child’s head as she read effortlessly. He could have sworn she was glowing as she read to the child, her gentle voice soothing her nerves and putting her to sleep. It was even beginning to work on him, as he felt his eyes becoming heavy.
“Um, excuse me?” Bakugo’s eyes shot wide open as a voice came from beside him. He turned around with a glare, startling the woman behind him. She clutched onto her bag as she took a step back. “C-can I help you?”
“You work here?” She gave him a quick nod. “I’m here for Fujio; the name’s Bakugo. I’m under the approved list.” She quickly ran into the room and spoke to the other worker in the rocking chair, whispering in her ear. The one with the angelic voice smiled and pointed to one of the children on the floor.
The jumpy caregiver came over with a child wrapped in their blanket and handed them over to Bakugo. He looked down to see messy black hair as Fujio’s sleepy face came into view. “Hmmm, Uncle Suki.” He smiled up at Bakugo before hugging him and falling back asleep. Luckily for the brat, he didn’t have Shitty Hair’s shark week teeth, but more prominently sharp canine teeth that kind of reminded Bakugo of dog.
“Um, h-have a good night.” The jumpy worker bowed; Bakugo just grunted at them. He was about to leave when he made eye contact with the caregiver in the rocking chair. She gave him the same smile she’d given the child now asleep in her lap, raising her hand to wave him goodbye.
And for some unknown reason… he waved back as he left.
“Uncle Suki… where’s Daddy?” Fujio looked up from Bakugo’s shoulder, his small hands clutching onto his shirt.
Bakugo hummed, rubbing the small back. “Hair-for-brains got stuck at work.”
Fujio closed his eyes, accepting the explanation; he was used to it by now. Thankfully, there were daycares that accommodated pro-hero parents and other social servants, or else Kirishima and his wife would have been in a tough bind. “I want you to pick me up tomorrow. I wanna play Heroes with you.” Bakugo smirked at the kid as he yawned.
“Sure, now shut up and sleep already. You’ll be home soon.” Fujio relaxed in Bakugo’s hold, his small breaths becoming shallow and even. Okay, maybe he liked the kid a lot. Bakugo let out a yawn himself. “Man, now I’m sleepy. What the hell?”
~
Bakugo was sound asleep, comfy on Kirishima’s big, fluffy couch. Until something roughly 30 pounds landed square on his stomach fucking screaming, “UNCLE SUKI! WAAAAAAAKE UP! TIME TO GET UP, YOU SLEEPYHEAD! LET’S PLAY! LET’S PLAY!” Bakugo glared at the little shit who was jumping on him like he was his goddamned rocking horse.
“No, go back to sleep, you little shit.” Bakugo easily picked up the brat by his shirt and dropped him on the floor before rolling over to face away from him.
Fujio pouted, whining, “Mommy said you can’t call me that.”
“Well Mommy ain’t here to catch me, now is she?” Bakugo looked back at the pouting child, smirking before he laid back down.
Bakugo listened to the small thuds of the kid’s feet as he ran away from him. Finally, back to sleep. “Daddy! When is Mommy coming home?”
“Not till next week, my little dude. Is Uncle Suki being mean again?” Bakugo’s eye twitched at hearing the disgustingly sweet tone Kirishima used with his son. “Will playing Deku’s theme song cheer you up?”
“Yeah! Deku! Deku!”
“YOU BETTER FUCKING NOT! I AIN’T LISTENING TO THAT SHITTY NERD’S SHITTY SONG!!”
Kirishima stood in his kitchen, holding his son with a smug grin on his face as Bakugo stood on the couch screaming. If his arms didn’t still hurt, small explosions would have been going off in his hands. “Oh good, you’re up. Want some breakfast? I made pancakes.”
Fujio held up his tiny arms. “I mixed the batter! And poured your pancakes on the stove!”
“Fucking fine!” Bakugo jumped off the couch, grumbling about Shitty Hair One and Two being twice as annoying as ever. He sat at the table, leaning back with his hands in his pockets. Kirishima placed Fujio down on his booster chair before going back to dish out the food.
“Pancakes~ Pancakes~ Pancakes~.” Fujio swayed his little body excitedly at the table, singing the word over and over.
Kirishima just chuckled as he placed Fujio and Bakugo’s plates down in front of them. Bakugo frowned at the weirdly-shaped and different sized pancakes in front of him. It kind of looked like he’d just thrown the batter on, not really caring about what he was doing. “What the hell is this?”
Fujio looked up from watching Kirishima put syrup on his food. “It’s your ex-exsploosions! Boom boom!” He held up his hands in Bakugo’s face with a big smile and then began to laugh.
“Alright kiddo, your food is ready to be devoured!” Kirishima placed a children’s fork in one of Fujio’s hands. He quickly stabbed one of the pancakes, lifting the whole thing to take a wild bite out of it. Definitely Kirishima’s kid… “Fujio said you seemed sad lately so he wanted to make you something that would make you happy. He said your explosions always make you smile so he wanted the pancakes to look like them.”
Bakugo let out a big sigh and held out his hand. “Give me the fucking syrup.” Kirishima gave him a knowing look as he handed Bakugo the syrup before turning back to his son.
“Yummy! Mr. Lion is good!” Fujio cheered with the pancake still on his fork. That’s when Bakugo noticed that his pancake was in the shape of a lion. He looked over to see that the other pancake was in the shape of a mouse.
Kirishima noticed where Bakugo’s eyes were looking as he took a sip of his coffee. “Fujio said he learned the story of the Lion and the Mouse yesterday and wanted his pancakes in the shape of them. You really liked that story, huh?”
The little boy nodded quickly, shoving more food in his mouth. “Yesh, sinth-” The boy paused when his dad gave him a look that most fathers seemed to know how to make and swallowed his food before continuing talking. Kirishima nodded and motioned for him to keep talking. “Ms. ____ was reading. I like it when Ms. ___ reads. She’s nice! And she gives the best hugs!”
“Was that the chick from last night?” Kirishima looked up at Bakugo in confusion. Did Bakugo just ask that? Really?
“Yeah! She always reads to us when we go to sleep.” Fujio shoved more food into his mouth.
Bakugo grunted and started to eat his food. Kirishima was still looking at him in disbelief. “What?” Bakugo raised an annoyed eyebrow at him.
Kirishima cleared his throat and shook his head. “Nothing. Fujio hurry up and eat, I’ll be taking you to daycare soon, okay?”
“Okay!” Fujio held up his fork in the air before slamming it down into the other poor, innocent pancake.
“I can watch the brat today.” Bakugo motioned to Fujio with his cup of orange juice before guzzling half of it.
Kirishima’s jaw dropped. “Okay, who are you and what have you done with Bakugo?” Bakugo has never willingly offered to watch Fujio before.
“Shut up. It’s like you said: I don’t have anything else better to do. Plus, I promised to play with him yesterday in exchange for him to go to sleep. I know he won’t stop bugging about it till I do.” Bakugo looked to the side as he ate more of his pancakes.
Translation: he wanted to hang out with Fujio today.
This was just too good to pass up. Kirishima couldn’t help but tease Bakugo. “Awe, you hear that Fujio? Uncle Suki here wants to play with you today!”
Fujio’s eyes widened as he looked back and forth between the two men excitedly. “Yay! We gonna play Heroes and he’s going to teach me how to kill fucktards!”
Kirishima’s smile instantly dropped and he looked back at Bakugo in horror. Bakugo let out a large laugh, slapping a hand against the table. “This kid is the fucking best!”
“Bakugooooo! You’re going to get me in trouble again!”
~
You were walking down the street, humming a Disney song that was stuck in your head. “Good afternoon ma’am.” You smiled at an elderly woman as you walked by her small sweets shop.
“Good afternoon to you dear. You are as bright and cheerful as always, I see.” She chuckled at you as she waved.
Your smile just widened as you added a bit more of a skip to your step. “How could I not when it’s such a wonderful day out? Spring is finally here and I love it!” Plus, your quirk was affecting you a bit, so you couldn’t help feeling happier.
Your therapy sessions with your clients have been going great; some of the kids have even graduated from your course and are moving on to the next level. You were so proud of those kids; you’d decided to go get them all gifts to congratulate them. As you skipped by the park, your ears perked up at the sound of a familiar voice.
“Alright! Quirk on! Harden! Go? Ugh!” A deep growly laugh filled the park. “Uncle Suki! Stop laughing!” Your smile widened; that was the voice of the adorable little Fujio! You promptly walked into the park to find him.
There was an ash-blonde man on the ground, holding his stomach as he tried to catch his breath. He was literally rolling on the ground laughing. You noticed that both of his arms were covered in bandages. Fujio stomped his feet in distress. “Uncle Suki! This is serious! What if I don’t get it?”
The sight of the child pouting his lips and stomping on the ground just made the man laugh even more. “Man, you are just like your dad.” Sitting up, he placed a hand on the small boy’s shoulder. Fujio looked even smaller when standing beside this man. “You have a quirk, it’s just still growing. Trust me. There is no way you don’t have a quirk. Your dad is strong, I should know. I trained with him and practically carried him throughout our school days. And your mom…don’t tell her I said this, but she’s badass and her quirk makes her even more badass.”
Fujio seemed to grow more confident and gave the man a quick nod. “Uncle Suki… can you set me on fire?”
“What?!” Both you and the man yelled. Why on Earth…
Fujio turned around to see you. “Ms. ____!” He ran as fast as he could to slam his body into your legs; you almost fell over from the unexpected force.
Gently, you stroked through the straight black hair on the boy’s head. He looked up at you with a toothy grin. So cute~ He was like a little puppy. “Hello Fujio. Are you out having fun with…” You looked up at the ash-blonde man, who had made his way over to the two of you. His hands were in his pockets and he had a scowl on his face as he eyed you, like you were some kind of threat.
“This is Uncle Suki! He fights bad guys with my daddy! But he’s playing with me today!” Fujio cheered and began to run around his uncle.
You couldn’t help but giggle at his silliness. Holding out your hand, you began to introduce yourself. “Hello, my name is ___ ___; I work at Fujio’s daycare. It’s nice to meet you.” It seemed like his guard was up and you waited patiently for him to grab your hand.
You were pleasantly surprised as he slowly he placed a bandaged hand in yours. “Bakugo Katsuki.” Despite how he looked, you couldn’t feel any hostility coming off of him. Your tense smile eased into a natural one as you looked him in the eyes, taking note of their ruby color.
“Do you wanna play with us?” You looked down at Fujio. His eyes were pleading desperately; ugh, your heart strings.
As much as you would love to play with one of your favorite kids, you still had things to do. Releasing Bakugo’s hand, you bent down to Fujio’s level. “I’m sorry sweetie, but I have errands to run. I have to buy a few gifts for some kids.”
He pouted for a moment but then his smile bounced back. “Oh oh, I can help! Can I help? My Daddy says it’s a man’s job to help others in need, so I need to help people to become a man like him!” Fujio posed, flexing muscles that he didn’t quite have yet. You couldn’t help but giggle.
“Excuse me? You forget about me?” Bakugo pointed at himself, irritated.
“Oh, Uncle Suki can help too! He can carry a lot!”
You looked back at Bakugo, who began to sputter. “No! Fuck that! We got shit to do.”
“No, we don’t.”
“Yes, we do!”
“Nuh uh, you said to my daddy you didn’t have anything to do today. That’s why I’m with you and not at daycare.” Bakugo bent down and covered his face in his hands as he let out a loud, frustrated groan. You had to turn away as you tried to hold in a snort. He was completely and utterly cornered… by a three year old. Fujio quickly grabbed your hand and started pulling you out of the park. “Uncle Suki, you need to get up or else we are going to leave you behind.”
You looked back to see Bakugo’s head shoot up and then get up, dragging his feet towards you guys. “Oi, listen here you fucking brat…”
It would seem you had some gentlemen to help you out, even though one of them was unwilling and had been bullied into it. Fujio was singing a tune as he led you and Bakugo. Other than the sweet little voice, it was silent. Your eyes wandered to the ash-blonde. I wonder what happened to his arms . The bandages were wrapped around the palms of his hands and went up all the way to his shoulders. Did they go underneath his hoodie? That’s when you realized that he was looking at you too, making direct eye contact. “Um…”
“I overused my quirk. This is what happens when you go beyond your limits. I’ll be fine though.” He looked back at Fujio and told him which direction to go for the toy store.
“Hero work?”
“Yup.”
“You win?”
He looked over to you with a wickedly smug grin and held up a fist. “Of fucking course I did. I never lose.”
Pfft, you couldn’t help but laugh at the confidence in his voice. Though you are pretty sure other people would have been put off by how deranged that smirk looked. “Have I heard of this ever victorious hero?”
His grin dropped and went back to his resting scowl. “Probably…” You didn’t push it after that; his defense seemed to be back up again. Hero work must be a touchy subject for him right now, probably from being injured and likely not being able to work. “So whose kids are you buying shit for?”
And he was changing the subject. “I’m a quirk therapist. I help kids who have recently developed their quirks. During the day at the daycare, I have sessions with the older kids. Some of my kids have shown great control over their quirks and are in a sense graduating from my program. I want to give them a reward.” He nodded along to what you were saying; despite how he looked and his curt behavior, he really seemed interested
“That’s definitely something kids need nowadays.” You eyed him as he put his hands behind his head. It sounded like he genuinely thought that… so weird. Most people questioned if that was really something worth doing since kids can be quite unpredictable. “So why were you there at night?”
“Hmm?”
“I saw you last night, reading to the kids. Fujio says you always read them stories at night.” He motioned to the small child, who was intently deciding which store you guys should enter.
You raised an eyebrow at him and then remembered the man who had picked up Fujio last night and had been standing outside the door. “Oh, that was you last night. Why were you just standing there? You could have come in, you know?”
Bakugo sputtered. “You saw me?!” You jumped at the sudden loudness of his voice as he turned to you with wide eyes and cheeks slightly pink.
“Uh yesss?” Were you not supposed to?
The ash-blonde grunted as he quickened his steps to catch up with Fujio, who had motioned for you two to walk faster. “I… spaced out okay?” He muttered into his hand. You tilted your head, questioning him. “You… started reading… and you were glowing… and your voice… it’s angelic…” His face became redder with each word and he sunk his head lower between his shoulders, as though he could hide inside of his hoodie if he tried hard enough.
“Oh-oh… well I do glow when I use my quirk. I can touch someone and help them calm down.” This seemed to make him raise his head at you, his blush gone.
“So, it was your quirk that did that?” He looked somewhat relieved, but the thing is…
“My quirk doesn’t affect my voice though… it only works by touch.” His blush came back instantly as he realized what you meant by that. “Um, thank you for the compliment though.”
He grunted at you; it would seem that conversation was over between the two of you. “Hey, look! There’s toys!” Fujio jumped up and down, pointing at a toy store that was currently hosting a sale.
~
Bakugo stood back and watched as you and Fujio sorted through some toys. It’s odd. Usually Bakugo would have his guard up till he knew for sure that it was safe, but with you… you just smiled at him and before he’d even noticed, he’d moved his arm and was shaking your hand. He never willingly shook someone’s hand unless he absolutely had to. Maybe it was because Fujio trusts you? And listening to your voice, man that shit was addicting. There was something about it that really struck a chord with him.
“What do you think Bakugo? One of the kids really likes dragons.”
He was brought back to reality as you presented him with a small stuffed dragon. His eyes narrowed at it. It looked well made but it was too…cute to be a dragon. “I would want something more…vicious. It really depends on the little shit. Do they like cute things or-” Looking back up at you, he saw your eyes widened with surprise. “What?”
You shook your head. “I was just surprised that you seriously thought about it. Guys that I shop with always say things like, ‘It’s fine’ or ‘Are you done yet?’”
“Well, I’m not like most fucking guys. And you know, most women at this point start to fucking lecture me about cursing or leave hating me.” He looked around the toy section and found another dragon; this one had claws and sharp teeth. Much cooler. He tossed it at you. “There, if the kid likes cute shit, go with the first one, but if they are into badass toys, that’s the dragon you need.”
You chuckled, holding the dragons close to your chest. “I think I’ll go with the badass one.” Bakugo swallowed as he saw this new smile spread across your face; it was somehow different from before… he was beginning to feel…bashful? What the fuck? And hearing you curse, oh yeah he liked that… “And yes, I am not like most women. So I guess we have something in common. I think cursing is just another way of expressing emotions; the key is knowing when it is okay to use it or not to use it.”
Bakugo nodded and opened his mouth to say something when Fujio came running over. “Uncle Suki! Look, I found you!” Fujio bounced over, holding a Ground Zero doll over his head. Shit…
Now you were looking between him and the doll, he could see the moment it clicked in your head. “You’re Ground Zero?” He rushed over to cover your mouth, but it was too late.
“Ground Zero?”
“Oh my god, Ground Zero is here?!”
“Where is he?”
Fans started running over as the news spread that Ground Zero was here. “Craaaap.” Bakugo quickly picked you and Fujio up, throwing you over his shoulder and Fujio under his arm like a football. “We gotta go.” Bakugo began to run out of the store.
“Wait! I didn’t pay!”
“Worry about that shit later! We need to get the fuck out of here!” Bakugo ran faster as his fans shouted his hero name. His eyes scanned for escape routes. An alleyway came up and he ran right through it, knocking over a few items as he did.
They made it to a street full of restaurants. “Hey, that’s the fish place Mommy and Daddy like!” Fujio innocently pointed out a sushi restaurant. That could work.
Bakugo made a mad rush to the restaurant at the sound of voices behind him. He slammed the sliding door shut, panting. The hostess and other people in the restaurant gave them all shocked and awed looks. “I need… a… private room… for three… now!”
“Please!” You shouted from his shoulder.
“Um… right this way.”
~
“Ooh that one, I want that one!” Fujio pointed at the sushi that lay before him. “The one with the little sticky thingies.” You giggled as you put sushi on a small plate for Fujio as he pointed out each one he wanted. Fujio was bouncing up and down, leaning on the table and shaking it.
Bakugo pressed a hand on the kid’s head and pushed him down into a sitting position on the floor. “Oi, sit your ass down and wait!”
“Ooookaaaaaay!” Fujio stayed in his spot between the two of you and waited like he was told.
Gently placing the plate down in front of him, you caressed his head and motioned for him to dig in. “What do you say, brat?”
The little boy had already shoved two octopus nigiri into his mouth by the time he remembered what he was supposed to say. “Thanfooo fo tha fooood.” He then continued to stuff his face.
Bakugo shook his head at him as he placed a piece of sushi in his own mouth. “Good enough, I guess.”
You looked over at Bakugo as you ate quietly. So this is the explosion hero without his mask. He isn’t much different personality-wise outside of his costume. Probably should have recognized that smirk from earlier; it’s been all over the media for years now. “So, I’m having lunch with the number seven hero, huh?”
“And?” He eyed you as he reached for the spicy tuna.
You gave him a shrug, leaning over and sliding the plate closer to him. “I never thought that would ever happen, especially in this kind of situation.” You motioned down at the little boy. “Sure, I’ve met plenty of heroes, but I can’t say I’ve met anyone from the top 10.” He grunted in response. “I can see why you didn’t want to tell me, from the look on your face when the fans started swarming you. Didn’t want to deal with fans while you are recovering, I get it.”
“That wasn’t it…” Bakugo grumbled into his cup.
You tilted your head, about to ask what he meant when you felt something lay on your lap. “Ah, full.” Fujio patted his stomach happily. “Ms. ___, can we play together again?”
Such a sweet boy. You stroke his head as his eyes seemed to become heavy. “Don’t we play together all the time at daycare?”
He let out a little yawn, rubbing his eyes. Fujio was losing the battle against sleep. “No… I mean you and me and Uncle Suki.” Oh, your heart strings.
“Sure. We can do that. If you want to take a little nap, you can.” You caressed his cheek as he fell asleep with a small smile on his face. What a kind little boy; his parents are doing an excellent job with him.
“Oi, glow worm, turn off the lights.” You jump at the husky voice; Bakugo was giving you a weirdly conflicted look.
Glancing down, you saw that you were, in fact, glowing. “Oopsies. Sorry, that happens sometimes when I get really happy or excited. My endorphin levels go through the roof.”
He snorted into his drink as you took control of your quirk and ceased glowing. “You seem like the type who is always happy; you haven’t stopped fucking smiling once. Also, ‘Oopsies’ ?”
“Sorry, most parents aren’t okay with their daycare provider cursing in front of their children. It’s just a habit. And yes, I do get mad. My quirk just makes it more… intense. So I try to keep a positive attitude and a level-head, unlike someone.” You smirked at him as he raised an eyebrow at you.
“Angel, I’m the definition of level-headed and I would pay to see this intense rage inside that happy-go-lucky body of yours.” He leaned in with a smirk, poking you in the forehead. “And his parents don’t mind the cursing; just don’t curse at him or call him a little shit. So I just don’t do it… when his mother is around. Wanna talk about intense rage? Her; she has made threats and has gone through with them. When I sleep, I sweat a lot so my bed is pretty much a bomb ready to be set off. She has lit a match and dropped it on my bed… twice. I’m an asshole, but I ain’t stupid.”
You hummed, stroking the sleeping child’s head. “But dumb enough for your bed to be set on fire twice.”
He opened his mouth to retort, but instead, gave you a shrug. “Not my finest hour, I’ll give you that. So what happens when you get mad? I usually blow everything up.”
“Don’t you usually do that anyway?” You laughed as he gave you a mischievous grin. “And to answer your question, I could be similar… to you in some ways. Just know, when my skin starts to dim, run.” You threw him your own mischievous grin.
Bakugo snorted, leaning back till he was lying on the floor with his hands behind his head. “The day your light dims is the day I shit fucking rainbows and glitter. You seem to be bright all the time, Angel. Even when you are being lugged around like a goddamn sack of potatoes and chased by a mob of fans. I almost lost my shit when you yelled ‘please’ from my shoulder.”
Both of you laughed quietly together. It was nice and from the look on his face, you think this is the first time he’s relaxed this much in a while. The mood suddenly shifted as his face became serious. “You know… the reason I ran, wasn’t because I didn’t want to deal with my fans… they all think I’m out on some kind of secret mission. Truth is, I was hurt pretty badly. Now I have to take a leave while I heal and attend physical therapy for three long-ass months… it sucks and I’m always on edge, itching to get back out there… but…” He let out a deep sigh as he shut his eyes. “I don’t want them to see me in this weak state and be… disappointed? I’m the unbeatable Ground Zero and even though I won against those guys… being this injured, I feel like I lost… Fuck, why am I even saying all this? I just met you.” He groaned as he sat up, looking you straight in the eyes.
You just smiled at him, feeling like that’s what he needed. A smile that understood him and that he could rely on. “I get that a lot; I naturally relax people since it’s my job. I have to give off the air of being someone that they can trust and talk to. I’m happy it worked on you.” As if on cue, you could see a small tint of a glow coming off your hands. You gently lowered Fujio to the floor and made your way to Bakugo. “You didn’t lose, these injuries are signs that you won. That you fought with everything you had to protect people. I’m sure your fans would be honored and worried for you all at the same time. Even though you are a bit rough around the edges, I’m sure everyone, myself included, thinks you are a winner.”
Bakugo kept eye contact with you the entire time but turned away from you when you said your last sentence. “You are so weird… but… thank you, for ya know.” His cheeks were tinted pink as he began to mumble his words.
You smirked at him. “I’m sorry, what was that?” He sighed and turned to face you.
“I said th-” He shut his mouth as soon as he saw the look on your face, his eyes registering realization for what you were doing. “Shut the fuck up. You fucking heard what I said. I’m not saying that shit again.”
~
Poke.
“Boop.”
Poke.
“Boop.”
Poke.
Fujio has been poking Bakugo in the cheek and saying ‘boop’ as he did for about ten minutes now. You are surprised that Bakugo hadn’t blown up…though he looked like he was about to. Another small finger reached over and pushed into his cheek. “GODDAMN IT! Will you fucking stop that?! I swear to God, I will throw you off my shoulders and you can walk yourself home!”
Fujio’s hand froze and he held tightly onto Bakugo’s hair. “No! I like being tall!”
“Then fucking stop!” These two are so cute and hilarious; your sides were beginning to hurt from trying to hold in your laughter. “Oi, glow worm, you think this is funny?” Bakugo glared at you; guess your body was giving you away.
“Oops, you caught me. I can’t help it.” You bite your lip as you noticed a small hand sneaking its way around Bakugo’s head.
Bakugo noticed too late as Fujio poked his nose and held his little finger there. “Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-”
In the middle of Fujio’s long boop, Bakugo muttered “Yes, they died.”
“-oooooooooooop.” He lifted his finger and did one more poke before resting his hands back on Bakugo’s head. “Boop.”
“Damn it, they lived.” You snorted at their antics. This is probably the most fun you have had in forever. It’s no wonder you keep glowing. “So where do you live?”
Looking over, Bakugo locked his eyes on you. “Oh, over there.” You pointed to some apartment complex a few blocks in front of you on the right. He grunted in response as he started walking down the street that would take you to your apartment. The rest of the walk was silent as Fujio had become sleepy again and fallen asleep with his body wrapped around Bakugo’s head. His head rested on top of Bakugo’s, his mouth wide open; he was most likely drooling onto the ash-blonde’s scalp.
After the moment between you and Bakugo, the two of you had finished the rest of your food and left the restaurant when Fujio woke up. Bakugo walked around with his hood up as you finished your shopping in another store. You thought about the two dragons that you had accidentally stolen with Bakugo. “I can’t believe we stole two toys…”
“What the fuck do you mean by ‘we’? You were the one who didn’t let go of the stupid toys when we had to run.” Bakugo grinned at you mischievously. “I should take you in; it’s a hero’s job to arrest criminals.”
You held your hands behind your back as you skipped ahead of him. “Then you are an accessory to theft, since you were the getaway driver.” You spun around to face him, sticking your tongue out.
He looked at you with wide-eyes before smirkig again, walking past you. “I guess then we both have to keep it a secret, to uphold our image.”
“I guess so.” You followed him. He was a very interesting man, not what you expected at all from everything you’d heard from TV and gossip mags. Though that tough bad boy vibe was very much true, he was actually pretty kind and even gentle towards Fujio. Bakugo stopped at a fork in the road and gave you a questioning look. “Ah, and this is where we part ways. Here.” You hand him a bag that had one of the stolen dragons in it. “A symbol of the secret pact we made.”
Bakugo took the bag as he reached into his pocket and handed you a cell phone. “Put your number in. The brat wants to play again so I have to be able to contact you.” Oh, he’s really going to do it? “Oi, the glow thing is getting brighter and more annoying.” He covered his eyes with one of his hands.
“Sorry, I was just so happy and excited that you want to invite me to your guys’ playdates.” You calmed yourself as you typed your number into his phone and called yourself. Once your phone started to ring, you hung up. “There, now I have your number too.” Your smile kept getting bigger; your face began to hurt. You’d had so much fun today. You are sure you will next time too. “If you don’t call me and I find out you guys went off and had fun without me, I might just stop glowing.”
He took his phone from you and snorted. “Don’t tempt me.” Placing his phone back in his pocket, he turned to start walking the opposite way as you. You began to turn as well but stopped when you heard his voice again. “You don’t have to worry, Angel. I’ll call you.” He looked at you over his shoulder.
You giggled and flashed him one more smile before heading towards your apartment. “I’m not, I trust you. I’ll see you around, Ground Zero.”
Later that night, you got an all caps text from Bakugo, complaining about you giving him the cutesy dragon instead of the badass dragon and wanting to trade. You sent him a response saying no givesies backsies before going to bed. You chuckled when you heard your phone going off a couple times; can’t wait to see what kind of creative curse words you will read in the morning.
Part 2
