24. Playing airplane/train to get little one to open their mouth and take a bite of food. With Ashton plz 😅
“Come on, sweetheart.” Ashton groaned softly, getting slightly frustrated as he watched the six month old turn her head away from the spoon, that was covered in mashed carrots, yet again. She was sat in her high chair in front of him, and he had been trying to feed her lunch for the past 20 minutes, but it wasn’t going well. “Please eat your food for Daddy.”
You watched him attempt to feed her, chuckling to yourself as you cleaned up the kitchen from breakfast. It hadn’t been long since you stopped feeding her with a bottle for every meal, but so far, it had been a struggle trying to get her to eat solids. You still gave her a bottle for breakfast and before she went to sleep at night, but the two of you were trying your best to get her to eat solids throughout the day.
“She looks bored, Ash. Maybe you should try and make it a bit more fun.” You suggested, laughing again as you watched your daughter push Ashton away. Her big, hazel eyes were wandering around the room, her chubby hands playing with the toy that you had given to her to keep her occupied - she didn’t look interested in whatever Ashton was trying to feed her. “Make it interactive.”
“Okay bubba. I know what Daddy can do.” He said to his daughter, taking another spoonful out of the jar of carrots and getting her attention. He carefully moved the spoon up and down, beginning to make plane noises and exclaiming, “Look sweetheart! Here comes the aeroplane!”
She shrieked with laughter as she watched her Dad, and as she opened her mouth to laugh, Ashton also managed to get the food in her mouth. She chewed it slightly, most of the orange mush coming out of her mouth and spilling down her chubby chin, but she didn’t close her mouth or turn her head away from him so he saw that as a success.
“Here it comes again! Get ready for the aeroplane!” He called out, continuing to swoop the spoon up and down before landing it in her mouth. It took Ashton a few more attempts, but he finally got baby girl to voluntarily open her mouth for the food, so he didn’t have to sneak it in when she laughed anymore. And what he had forgotten, was that you were stood watching the whole time, watching as your baby girl’s eyes lit up every time Ashton brought the spoon towards her. You were happy watching the two loves of your life, and couldn’t be happier with your little family.

Alright but Cake childishly discussing who got sick first and whether or not it was contagious and person B got it from person A or viceversa and an annoyed Ash with the voice you use with kindergartners goes “alright alright kids let’s settle down” *sits one on each thigh* “nobody got it from nobody it’s just a coincidence just have your soup so you get better :)” *pats their heads gently* and then Michael walks in and just stares while slowly shaking his head “what… the… fuck” *walks away again*
Imagine your daughter asking you to teach her how to braid hair so you try to teach her and she starts to kind of get it and you just tell her it takes practice and then you go to work and then you come home and you hear your daughter yell “Mommy! Come look! I practiced!” and you walk into the living room and see your daughter on the couch and your husband Ashton on the floor and he has like 5 braids in his hair.
stay at home dad Ashton helping his young daughter learn how to write her name and incompassing her tiny hand in his large one and helping her write Lexi Rose Irwin in big letters across a piece of paper.
