Will: *curses*
Gilan: Wow, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
Will: Haha, no
Halt, sighs deeply: Will we've talked about this
Redrawn ra comic!! When I drew this I loved (and i still love) the relationship Halt and Will have. I imagined that Will never really got a lot of physical contact at the orphanage therefore he gets very happy everytime Halt would give him a pat on his shoulder or ruffle his hair.
It's also so nice to see that I have improved so much and I aspire to keep improving ofc
I also want to thank @artsysurvivor by saying those nice things in your tags, it really made my day! I hope you enjoy this comic :D
For anyone interested i have hidden the paper old- and redrawn version under the cut.
Water
I feel like Halt did this at one point in Will's apprenticeship.
So Rangers get up at ungodly hours right? So one morning Will didn't get up.
Halt: Will, get up.
Will:
Halt: Grumbles and goes outside.
Will: *sleeps peacefully and painfully oblivious
Halt: SPLASH!
Will: Screams and jolts awake in the bed, cold and drenched in river-water.
Will: Gorlog's beard Halt! Seriously?!
Halt:
Halt: I think the rug's a bit dusty and needs to be beaten soon, don't you think?
He isn't guilty at all.
just finished death of a hero no one speak to me
02. Trouble
As the ship began to gather way, Will stared at the mounted figure in the surf, buffeted by the waves. Halt was so near and yet now so impossibly out of reach. His eyes stung with tears and, faintly, he heard Halt’s voice.
“Will! Stay alive! Don’t give up! I’ll find you wherever they take you!”
Choking on tears, the boy raised his arm in farewell to his friend and mentor.
“Halt!” he croaked, but he knew the Ranger would never hear him. He heard the voice again, carrying over the sounds of wind and sea.
“I’ll find you, Will!”
Christmas Countdown fanfic challenge:
Day 3!!
Enjoy 💚
************************
The screaming shook him from his dazed state between consciousness and a dreamless sleep. He shook his head to clear it only to discover that the screaming wasn't screaming at all.
It was just his coffee.
'Thank god'
He attempted to stand, knowing it was a dismal failure, as his head was spinning even from where he was sitting. He hoisted himself off the chair, and walked toward the screaming.
When he reached out to touch it, something burned him, he pulled his hand away quickly with a cry of shock. He glanced down at his hand and saw, as his vision cleared that his fingers were red and starting to blister.
“Will! What are you doing?!”
Someone grabbed his shoulders and shoved him aside. Pulling the coffee pot off the stove, ceasing the screaming.
The grey bearded man in front of him grabbed his burning hand, and examined it closely.
“Those are some second degree burns son. What were you thinking?” He said as he looked up at Will’s face.
“Hey, Will! Look at me!”
Will grudgingly followed orders and looked the man in the eyes.
‘Oh it’s just Halt’
‘Why did I just now realize that?’
Halt let go of his hand, and walked toward the medicine cabinet, pulling out bandages, and a special burn salve, that Halt made sure wasn’t derived from warmweed.
He walked back over to Will, glancing up at his face with concern, and began to wordlessly wrap his red and blistered hand.
Will soundlessly watched him work, feeling the need to give him an explanation, but not feeling the words form. His head spun once more, and he shut his eyes tight as he felt the floor give way beneath his feet.
Halt was alarmed to see his knees wobble and caught him before he fell to the ground. Will was having difficulty in breathing and was clutching Halt like a drowning man clutching onto a piece of floating wood, desparately and tightly, like if he let go, he'll drown.
“Okay Will. It’s okay. I think- yeah your foreheads burning up, I think you have a fever.”
He said as he felt Will’s forehead with the back of his hand.
He gently got Will into a standing position, and guided him back to his bed.
As Halt laid the covers back on Will’s shaking form, Will’s eyes filled with a sudden urgency.
“Wait” he tried to sit up in bed, “wait I have rounds, and I have lunch with Alyss later, I-“
“Well you’re not going to be doing that today...I’ll do your rounds for you, and I’ll tell Alyss that you can’t meet with her today. You know she’ll understand, and maybe she’ll even drop by later to check up on you.”
“Halt-“
“Enough Will. I’m going to drink that coffee you so kindly made me, then I’ll make you some tea. And give you some medicine and pain relief for that fever, and your burns. I’ll be by again after I do your rounds. But YOU. Are to stay in bed today do you understand me?”
He pointed a finger in Will’s face to make sure the young ranger gets the point.
Will sighed, and nodded with closed eyes. Too tired to attempt a response.
Halt nodded, satisfied. “Alright then. I’ll be back in a minute with your tea.”
The bedroom door shut behind him, and Will could hear the clamor of pots and pans being moved, and water being poured.
He also heard the coffee pot lid open. And a mug being pulled out. He frowned.
‘That’s my coffee’
