- It’s no secret that Slytherin Common Room parties FUCKING RAGE, but what some of the students don’t realize is that there’s a hidden wild side to their usually reserved and laid back classmate.
- I mean, obviously. She hangs around The Emeralds ™️, she has to be able to keep up.
- Thats not to say that her father is very thrilled about said wild side.
- countless Mondays after wild weekends of the constant two-day party-going, he’s reminded that his daughter isn’t as calm as he is, that she’s indeed not inherited his need for a quiet, calm environment. (Which is a testament to how he raised her and the fact that she’s not as traumatized as he is…)
- One particular instance, one that occurs on a Saturday night, he’s in a particularly sour mood and is only irritated further by the fact that he can hear the music through the stone walls of the castle, (Some dunderhead forgot to place a silencing charm over the common room, damn them) and now he’s unable to fall asleep.
- he storms into the common room, signature Snape Scowl™️ in place, ready to give out some detentions, when his sights are set on his daughter.
- she’s having the time of her life, dancing upon a table with a microphone in her hand as she sings along to ‘come on, Eileen’ as the karaoke version plays through a speaker. (Theo handed her the mic and Draco picked the song, “because your middle name is ‘Eileen’, it’s fitting.” He told her, sending her a wink.)
- Snape’s initial thought is that she’s drunk off her ass, which isn’t the case because in her words when he asks her about it later is, “who says I need the influence of alcohol to dance on a table?”. She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she is the moment.
Hi! Can i request Severus finding out that the memory his child uses to cast a corporeal patronus is a memory with him? :)

Masterlist
Severus waits on the platform at 9 ¾ for his daughter to arrive home for the summer from Hogwarts. As the train pulls into the station he can’t help but smile as the students begin to filter out. He catches a glimpse of her in a window, starts waving, and walks up closer to the train. She runs down the steps and jumps into his arms laughing and giggling as he gives her a little spin and a kiss on the forehead before setting her back down.
“How was your fourth year at Hogwarts?” Snape asks as he wheels his daughter's trolley along and back through the wall at the platform.
“It was amazing!”
“That’s great, honey! What was your favorite thing that you learned?”
“I learned to cast a Patronus, dad!”
“Really? That’s super-advanced magic! Was it a full fledge corporeal Patronus?”
“Yes! It was a unicorn! They're supposedly very rare!”
“That they are!” Snape replies with a huge smile on his face. “Those with a unicorn Patronus usually are healers.” Knowing that his daughter is able to produce a Patronus at all has him bursting with joy, but the fact that she may be destined to live a life helping people makes him happiest of all. Perhaps she will never know the heartbreak of losing people instead of saving them that he himself has had his whole life. “Who taught you how to cast a Patronus? That’s not in the Hogwarts curriculum!” he teases.
“They just added it this year! The new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor decided to offer weekend lessons and I signed up. Only a few of us were actually able to produce one!”
“That’s amazing honey! You know, I’m so proud of you right?” he says embracing her in a hug and ruffling her hair a bit with his other hand.
“I know! Dad, guess what memory I was able to use to cast the Patronus!” she says tapping her feet on the ground in an excited little dance.
“Hhhhmmm, perhaps a memory of your friends? Or your mother?” he replies, thoughtfully.
“Nope! Guess again!”
“Well if it’s not one of those, I guess it’s got to be a memory of perhaps your cousins or something then.”
“Wrong again! Do you give up?”
“I assume I do,” he chuckles as he lifts her trunk into the back of his car. “What’s the happiest memory that allows you to cast a Patronus, dear?”
“I was having a hard time casting my Patronus and I tried every memory that you mentioned, but the one that ended up working was one of you.”
Severus halts in his action of moving things around in the back of the car to better fit the trunk in it and he turns around to look at her, his eyes beginning to fill with tears. “Really?” he asks in utter disbelief.
She nods. “Well, it’s really a collection of memories with you that work best. You teaching me how to dance in the kitchen at age 5 while humming a tune, you letting me help you collect ingredients from the garden for your potions, and getting to watch you as you brew them countless times, and that time when you baked me a birthday cake at age 8 and we couldn’t stop laughing because you added salt instead of sugar but we ate it anyway.”
Tears start falling from Severus’s face as she continues to detail collections of memories with him that allow her to cast her Patronus. When she’s done, he wipes his tears away and hugs her tightly.
“I love you so much, sweetie,” he says with a small sniffle.
“I love you too, dad,” she replies smiling proudly as they pull away from the hug.
“I think that’s enough crying for today he says as they get into their seats so he can drive them home. Do not tell your mother about it when we get home,” he laughs.
“You know I will!”
“Of course, I expected nothing less. I’m sure she will find it amusing,” he smiles as he pulls out of the parking spot and begins the drive home.
Snape having a daughter who looks up to him, thinks very highly of him, and is proud of him and his accomplishments.
*exert from Please Come Back to Me*
I think about Sev having a daughter a lot and all I can think of rn is that he’s had so much of a positive impact on her that she can’t help but to be proud of who she came from and all that her dad has done for her. Not to mention all that he’s overcome before he even had her. Sev has to remind himself that not everyone thinks of him the way his father did and that he’ll never make his daughter feels that way.
He hates everything about where and who he came from (minus his mother, I like to believe that he loved her dearly and that’s why he named his child after her) and he sees the name he was given as another burden to carry.
However, after finding out that he had a daughter, he decided to do better and be better for her bc it’s not just his name anymore, it’s hers as well.
Sev would make sure to teach her how important it is to be thorough in decision-making and the long term effects it could have on her life if she were to do something irrational without thinking it though. He just doesn’t want her to learn this lesson the hard way like he did.
As she grows up, she appreciates his life lessons more and more. And when she finds out through Minnie and Albus that her little lessons were taught to her bc of his first hand experiences, she gains an overwhelming sense of pride. She’s so proud of all of the things her dad has overcome throughout his years and is so thankful for the knowledge that he’s passed on to her.
This kid will give him a run for his money, he’s raising a little prodigy. Sev has been teaching her how to make potions since she was old enough to crawl and she’s grown quite fond of the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making.
watch out, Sevvy, she’s coming for your job
And oh boyyyy, if he were to find out just how proud this girl is. . . TEARS. Absolute waterworks. One of his biggest fears now that he has a kid of his own is disappointing her or unintentionally doing something to make her hate him. I think that if he heard her thoughts or the things she says to her other professors about him, all of his worries would melt away. Or they’d amplify bc he’s more worried about tainting her views of him
Severus Snape and His Daughter that Looks Just Like Him
- I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Snape’s daughter would DEFINITELY get his genes. Her hair matches his. The silky, wavy, jet black locks are an obvious hint to who she’s related to.
And don’t even get me started on her nose. Her nose is the dead give away to her family relations. (Sev used to hate his nose until he had his kid and he stopped speaking such hurtful things about it once she grew into this feature.)
- There isn’t a day that goes by that he forgets to remind her of her beauty, he swaps the insults directed at his own appearance for compliments about hers.
- These compliments are for sure amped up when she starts her first year at Hogwarts. He knows first hand how cruel kids can be and he doesn’t want his beloved daughter feeling ashamed of the way she looks.
~
*lil something like this*
He’ll walk into her bedroom and sit on her bed, gazing at her lovingly as she sleeps peacefully and prepares to wake her up to get ready to go to the platform. He’ll brush the few strands of hair from her face before gently kissing her forehead and moving his hand to rest firmly on her shoulder. “Come on, my dear. Wake up, you wouldn’t want to miss your first train ride to school, would you?” And she’d pop out of her bed excitedly and with the energy of a toddler on pixie sticks. “I’m awake! When do we leave?” She’s wearing the smile that he gave her. “Well, you still need to get dressed.” Sev shakes his head, chuckling at her eagerness to get to school. “Your uniform is laid out over there, lovely girl.” He motions to the plain black Hogwarts robes draped over her desk chair. He’ll leave the room, expecting her to meet him downstairs for breakfast once she’s dressed and ready. She rushes down the stairs as soon as she’s fully clothed, hair brush still in her hand and half of her hair still a mess from being slept on, just to ask her dad “How do I look?” And the response is always some variation of “Stunning as always, sweet girl.”
~
- But if she were to be teased or ridiculed for the way she looks he’d take offense to it. Not bc they look so similar and insulting her is insulting him by extension, but bc someone dared to comment on something so dear to him, something he takes so much pride in. Man would have no issues whatsoever hexing or jinxing a child. Bonus points if his daughter saw it and got a laugh out of it.
- But in all seriousness, Sev will not tolerate his child being bullied by anyone and would go to great lengths to ensure that it never happened again.
- Playful teasing about the the size of her nose is a different story, though. They’ll both go back and forth teasing each other about it and then laughing when one or the other of them points out that “we have the same nose!”
- On the topic of their noses (weird topic but it’s Snape, it makes sense), she makes him dislike it less and less as time goes on. After all, she made the connection that they have the nose of a Roman Deity.
~
*🎶here we go🎵*
They’re sitting in Minnie’s office for tea and biscuits, a weekly occurrence that started well before his kid started school. She’s sitting in one of the chairs at the large round table with a small tea cup, a biscuit on a napkin, and a thick book about Roman gods and goddesses in front of her that Madame Pince allowed her to borrow from Hogwarts’ Library. She’s flipping through the pages and scanning the pictures as Sev and Minnie gossip about the latest student drama when she turns the book their direction and looks up at them both with wide doe-like eyes. “Look,” she beams, “we look like that!” She’s pointing at a picture of Neptune, Roman god of waters and sea, more specifically, at his nose which is the same shape as theirs.
~
- Minerva will never let that moment be forgotten and every chance she gets, she reminds him that his face was compared to one of a Roman god. - Ok, but the nose kisses though. They started when she was just an infant and they will continue until the day they die. I don’t make the rules, this is a canon event.
(This one has more to do with their personalities than their looks, but it’s still something they have in common.)
Bonus- Sev was never the type to be loud or hyper in front of people. It was a miracle if he even spoke to a group of people that he didn’t associate with on the regular. But his close friend group never could never get him to shut the fuck up. He’d rant and continue on about his interests and actually contribute to whatever random conversation was being had on the common room couches. They would even catch him slipping in some vulgar language and comments when they least expected it. His behaviors would also be more relaxed and maybe a bit unhinged in the presence of his trusted friends. His daughter would also inherit his language habits as she grows old enough to understand them. (He didn’t mean to teach her to swear like a sailor, but it happened.) And though Sev’s behavior (not his language though) calms down as he gets older, hers never does. She’s vulgar and proud.
I think I wrote more about Snape’s nose than anything else, oh well😭
Severus Snape and His Daughter Who Won’t Live Without Him
*We're going to go about this like it's Ava's personality (my OC from Please Come Back to Me) bc I have a lot of lore for her that I want ppl to see and she has a lot of traits that I headcanon for a lot of characters that are written to be Snape's kid. I can just write about this topic better if we're talking about her. I may or may not put this scenario in my fic, idk yet*
~
- It's her sixth year at Hogwarts and things just aren't the same as they used to be. In an attempt to try and preserve what life at school used to be, Sev, Minnie and Ava continue to have tea and biscuits in one of their offices. It may not be as frequent as it used to be, but it's something.
- They made sure that the conversations were only about what was going on at school and in their personal lives, Sev and Minnie were especially careful not to mention anything about the struggles outside of the castle around Ava. She'd already shown them how it affected her, unintentionally of course, but they didn't want to upset her when they were trying to keep her in as high of spirits as they could.
- One Saturday evening however, this intention went out the window. Sev was already with Minnie in her office, talking about said struggles and Ava walked in as the topic of his life being in harms way was mentioned.
- She stops dead in her tracks when she hears the words 'dying' and 'I could be next' leave her dad's mouth. "Don't say that, it's not going to happen." She says and continues into the office and to her usual chair at the round table. "He just meant that it could happen. It could happen to anyone, dear." Minnie says to her gently. "Yes, it could, but it won't. Can we change the subject, please?" Ava wouldn't look up from her hands. Minnie and Sev give each other knowing glances. "You're in denial, Ava." Minnie would press. "I'm not. I just don't want to talk about this right now-" "But we need to." Minnnie would cut Ava off, her voice only slightly raised in volume. "Everyone has to leave this Earth at some point in time, dear. What do you plan on doing when your father's time comes and you haven't even accepted the fact that he's gone?" Ava looks up quickly, her eyes glossy with tears that have yet to fall. "I'm going with him." She doesn't even hesitate with her answer. "I plan to go with him wherever he goes when he 'leaves this Earth'. I don't want to be here if he isn't here with me."
- They glace at each other again, absolutely speechless. "Alright, we can change the subject for now." Sev says, using his thumb to wipe the tears from Ava's face.
- The rest of their little tea party was kinda quiet, no one really knew what to say after hearing what Ava had to say about the matter of her father's inevitable death.
- Later, though, Sev will pull her aside, either to his office or his personal quarters to talk to her about what she said and how she feels. He made sure to tell her that he understands her fear of the unknown and being alone, but he also reassured her that whatever the word threw their way that she could get through it in a way that didn't include her soul leaving the mortal plane in an untimely manner. No matter if he were to be there with her or not.
- He always tells her that he's with her and he'll extend this to reassure her that he'll be by her side even if he's not physically there.
- (TW) Still safe to say that when the Dark Lord claims Sev’s soul during the battle, Ava cannot be trusted with or around a wand once she hears the news.
Their souls would be reunited soon enough, just like she’d said they would.
ok ok, I know you're going to like this (you must like it!)
Severus is a single father since unfortunately his wife died years ago, now he takes care of his daughter, during school hours the girl spends the months in the Malfoy house with Draco (they are still small) and Severus always goes to see her later after school, Severus loves his daughter, the girl has many of his features but mostly looks like her mother, besides having a very pretty little nose. One afternoon when Severus is with his daughter, the girl asks him why she doesn't have his nose, and after Severus explains why she tells him that she wants to have daddy's nose, she likes her daddy's nose and says it's very pretty and want her nose to be like that
And Severus is touched by what his daughter said c':
A/N: This is so cute and I love it! I wrote a very short drabble for this as I'm very short on time but I think it still turned out well!
“Hey, sweetie. How was your day?” Severus pulls up his pants legs and sits on the floor beside his daughter.
“It was good! Look at what Draco and I built!” She gestures towards the block castle as she adds a few more blocks to it.
“Wow, that’s amazing,” Severus smiles. “Can daddy play blocks with you for a bit since Draco went to play outside?”
She nods. Humming a song to herself she passes her dad some blocks.
He stacks the blocks on top of each other to give the castle another tower holding it steady with one hand. His daughter brings a finger up to his nose, tracing every bump and ridge there, he jumps at her touch.
“Daddy? Can I ask you something?”
“What is it?” he nods.
“Why don’t I have your nose?” she asks, touching her own.
“Well, you have your mother’s nose, sweetheart,” Severus hums.
She looks at him with an eyebrow raised. “But daddy, your nose is so pretty! I want to have your nose instead!” she huffs, crossing her arms.
Severus stares at her, taken aback. ‘She thinks my nose is… pretty?’ he thinks to himself. He hates his nose, hates all the bumps and ridges on it, and especially how big it is.
“Well, I think your nose is very pretty,” Severus says after a few moments. “Every time I look at it, I’m reminded of your beautiful mother. She would be thrilled that you have her cute little nose,” he smiles. He lightly pinches her nose, pretending to steal it, and then returns it. She erupts into a fit of giggles.
“Are you ready for a snack now? I hear Uncle Lucius’ house elves are cooking you up something tasty.”
Severus leads her into the manor’s kitchen for her snack, all the while smiling with a newfound bit of confidence for his pretty nose.
Not asked, but how do you think Severus reacts to learning that HARRY JAMES POTTER is in love with his beautiful, perfect, adored daughter?
I personally think I'd think about turning Harry into potion ingredients HSAHSAH
Severus would be livid! Potter in love with his daughter? There’s no way his daughter would actually love potter back as well? Right?!
But yes I agree with you that he would definitely think of turning Harry into potion ingredients. It’s crossed his mind a time or two 😂
If Harry came to Severus to ask for his daughters hand in marriage it might go something like this:
Harry had been dating his daughter for sometime now but Severus had always had a small hope something - anything - would happen and they would break up. Much to his disappointment, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Relatively speaking, his daughter seems happy with Potter but he always keeps his guard on high alert. One time they had gotten into a particularly nasty fight and Severus had to comfort his daughter as she cried and spilled out all her insecurities of their relationship to him in the middle of the night. It had taken all of Severus’ self control to not end the boy right then and there with the killing curse, but somehow they managed to work through that fight and to Severus’ disappointment he had not had the chance. Though Severus was not happy with the outcome, it wasn’t his decision and he trusts his daughter to do what is best for her. No matter how much he disagrees with her choice of men, namely Potter, he keeps his mouth shut.
Tonight she was out on a date with Potter and Severus was reading in the living room by candlelight waiting on her to return. Although she is a grown woman now at 23, he still waits on her to make sure she arrives home safely. As long as she lives under his roof he will continue to do so.
His daughter enters back home around 12 am. He gives her a hug and kisses her cheek when she stops in front of him before ascending the stairs to retire to her room for the night. As he is tidying up his mess in the living room, a light knocking on the front door draws his attention.
Confused, he opens it and standing there is Potter himself, looking rather nervous as he runs a hand through his hair to smooth it down.
“Can I help you, Potter?” Snape snarls.
“Sir, may I come in? I’d like to chat about your daughter for a moment.”
Sighing Snape backs up, allowing Harry to enter, before shutting the door behind him.
“Have a seat,” he says gesturing to the couch. “Can I get you something to drink?”
Harry shakes his head. “No, sir that won’t be necessary. I don’t plan on staying long. Has she gone to bed yet?”
“I believe she has. Why?” he prods, raising an eyebrow at his odd questions. He’s rather tired himself and he wishes Potter would stop beating around the bush so he could head to bed as well.
“I - I have a question concerning her that I’d like to ask you,” Harry mumbles.
“Well, spit it out Potter! It’s late! I don’t have all night!”
Harry swallows hard. “You see, um sir, your daughter and I have been dating for quite some time,” he pauses for Snape to respond.
“Yes, I know. Do go on.”
“I am in love with her. In fact, I love her so much that I can’t see my life going on without her in it.”
Snape’s mouth twists into a semi-snarl. “Continue,” he says through gritted teeth.
“Um, so. Could I please have your permission to marry your daughter?” he pleads with a loud gulp.
Severus frowns and his eyebrows furl together. “Potter, you know I am not fond of you. In fact, I hate your guts. But, as much as I do not want to admit it, my daughter seems happy with you. I do not want to ruin her happiness by telling you no so instead I will say yes. However, if you break her heart, I will end you. Are. We. Clear?” he sneers.
Potter nods and jumps to his feet, desperate to evacuate Snape’s home immediately. “Thank you, sir. I will take very good care of her. I promise.”
