The recipe to a woman’s heart
Chapter 2: dish duty.
Summary: Sanji tries to be a ladies man to the wrong woman.
Breakfast was super good, super tasty just amazing in general. You and Nami both brought your plates into the kitchen and placed them in the sink. It was Tuesday so that means you were on the legendary dish duty that everyone dreaded doing. It wasn’t that hard in general but like honestly who wanted to do dishes? Especially on a Monday morning??? Clearly no one else since you were one who took that role.
You waited in the kitchen with Sanji as everyone was bringing their dish to the sink. Luffy was still trying to get more while Sanji was scolding him once again. It gained a light bit of laughter from you but nothing much brought you all that much joy, especially not anything a man could do.
Men. God you hated them, so annoying in every single way possible. They think they’re so much better than everything and like the world is there’s so dominant. It angered you every time you remembered they even existed. It wasn’t your fault honestly, you had been wronged by men all your life (holy self projecting I’m doing omg) so it wasn’t unusual to hate something that cause you so much pain.
You filled the sink up with warm soapy water, the bubbles In the water reminded you of when you’d help your sisters clean up the house before they left you but whatever that was in the past it’s not like they were coming back anytime soon anyways. Before you could even begin to roll up your sleeves to start the dishes Sanji swayed his way over to you.
“Oh my sweet! You don’t need to get your hands dirty! Allow me!” He was blushing and gushing his lovey words of nonsense again. What he said had really set off a nerve in your brain. mostly two things, one being the pet name “my sweet” trust me you were anything but sweet to that guy, you were a very stern and serious woman. Two “you don’t need to get your hands dirty” that one drove you crazy, you’ve been getting your hands dirty since you could remember, you were practically raised as a son instead of a daughter.
“No thanks Sanji, I’m completely capable of doing it myself.” You gave in a bit of attitude when you spoke unfortunately for you he loved that attitude but he obviously didn’t want to piss off one of his queens.
“Are you sure m’lady?” Sanji was practically pestering you now.
“Yes I am sure.”
“Positiveeee~?”
“Yes.”
After what felt like decades of going back and forth with him he finally backed off and cleaned the rest of the kitchen. He kept glancing over at you, you were like a tough nut he just couldn’t crack with his impeccable charm. He was confused why all the other ladies seemed to tolerate his flirting but you just brushed him off and ignored it. He had no idea about your past and honestly you hoped he never would. It would be too much for you to talk about and too much for him to bear, you weren’t going to trauma dump on the cook. Sure it might be nice to talk about it but you weren’t much of a talker, if you were going to talk to anyone about it you’d probably talk to Nami or Robin about it before the thought of even talking to one of the guys about your past crossed your mind. Dishes were put back where they belonged and that’s all that mattered not some silly therapy session with the boys.
The moment you turned back to the sink you saw more dishes in the sink, Luffy tried sneaking away. Somehow someone had let him have second or fifths for that much. It was going to be a very long morning.
Thank you reading another chapter! I try to post daily but if you’ve seen my master list then you know I do a lot of fics and I try to at least post three full chapters in general to keep up. I’ve been neglecting this one a bit since I have been going through a rough patch mentally but writing and listening to Tv girl on replay really help!
Also you probably saw how much I self inserted with the reader disliking men, it’s nothing against them it’s I just have trauma with them and I wanted to show that in the character
