Here's a quick lettuce-free salad I made on July Fourth! 2 whole roma tomatoes, chopped 2 large cucumbers, chopped 2 sticks of celery, chopped 5 small sweet bell peppers, chopped 1 stalk of kale, leaf only (no stalk, actually) chopped 1 tbsp feta cheese Toss with: 1-2 tbsp lemon juice 1-2 tbsp red wine vinegar 1-2 tsp balsamic vinegar 1/2 tsp garlic herb 1/2 tsp course ground salt It was super good and tasted even better the next day! Add more or less vinegar/juice to taste.

I found a ham in my fridge today, so I asked my mom for her always amazing glaze recipe. Here is the email she sent me: "Yo Mama's Ham Recipe The glaze is the thing. Precooked ham requires 10 minutes per pound in a 350 degree oven. ( Ham that is not precooked needs 20 minutes per pound) (Meat thermometer for internal temperature should be 160 degrees F.) 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup honey 1 teaspoon (heaping) Dry powdered mustard 1 cup orange juice 1/4 cup cider vinegar Mix this & melt together over low flame on top of stove. Can do a few shakes of powdered cloves into this if you like the taste. (Other option is to use whole cloves to stick into the scored spaces on the ham.) Remove the majority of the exterior skin/fat of the ham. All of the skin & most of the fat. After you have scored (1/4 inch deep) the ham in a basket (tic-tac-toe) pattern. Place ham in roasting pan. Then carefully brush/baste/pour the glaze over the scored ham before cooking. If you are using pineapple then you can add the juice from one can of the pineapple rings. If you add more juice add a little more honey to the mix. And use one toothpick for each pineapple to cover the ham." My glaze ended up leaking out of the bottom of a compromised aluminum baking pan, but the ham eventually turned out pretty good (if a little charred from being cooked uncovered).
