“…Who would’ve thunk it!” 

They were the only two accounted for among this open field of paradise, as the disembodied voice surrounding them continued on and on about ‘fate’ and ‘destined partners for life’, and Hamuko took this opportunity to turn her gaze over to Chidori… her apparent destiny, it would seem (she couldn’t help to wonder how Senpai would handle the news of her sister’s supposed ‘true love’ being their Leader of all people; was it worthy of execution?), unable to mask the smile curving along her lips. It was both playfully teasing and genuine. 

“To think after everything… at the end of the day, Chidorin and I are a perfect match~!”

...I feel like I'm late for something...

“…Well then. Guess what, nerd?” Hamuko slid forward on the heels of her fuzzy slippers, taking Chidori’s hand with her own upon reaching the redhead seated on the couch. “It’s time for you to step up as the first contestant in everyone’s favorite game show ‘Let’s Figure Out What Happened a Month Ago!’ hosted by a dame so charming, broadcasters decided to kick her off primetime for ‘creative differences’… me!”

“...Hmm, I’m pretty sure I’m in the same boat as you on this!”

Twisting open the top of her thermos, Hamuko gave herself a quick minute to savor the lingering warmth of the soup prepared earlier (’star shaped noodles are a lovely addition, given our plans tonight and all~’ is all the persuading she had to say to get Chidori on board with taking charge with dinner, despite it being Akihiko’s turn), before continuing. Her friend made an interesting point, one she’s dwelled on time and time again while counting as many constellations as her eyes could trace. “There’s... just so much out there that hasn’t been explored. A mysterious terrain filled with black holes and dwarf planets and star systems that share extraordinary similarities to our own!” 

Eyes wide, reflecting the sky stretched out before them, she found no reason to stop the smile curving along her lips. “Who knows! There could be space pirates out there! Cruising along icy rings of unknown planets, searching for lost treasure! It could be happening right now and we Earthlings would be none the wiser~”
