Why I want to write screenplays
Because when I said, "I wish there was more racial diversity in into the woods" someone responded, "Well that doesn't make sense, because they were all slaves."
Ah, yes. I remember the days when giants came down from the sky, and fairytales were real. Yes, let's stick to this completely historical piece.
It's not about "historical accuracy" at all. It's about seeing people experiencing life. Go watch a fucking documentary if you're gonna use that bullshit scarecrow excuse around me. It's empty. That's not what this is about.
We need racial diversity, so when people go to see a movie they see the world. They see themselves. They feel a connection. That's what movies are for.
If feeling a connection to a movie is such a terrible thing, then I can't wait to get down in the mud and fucking enjoy what life is really about.
And if you've got a problem with that, then I only hope one day you realize how wrong you are.
