@daggere murmured: grabbing the other’s hand so they don’t fall (for scanlan!) / accepting!
𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐏 𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐏 & 𝐀 𝐒𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏... & then there’d no longer be a scanlan shorthalt... were it not for the deft hands of his companion. he makes a noise of startled approval as the rogue pulls him back up. the rickety wooden bridge held up to its name, it seemed, & had threatened to drop the gnome into the chasm below.
❝ sure could use a flying carpet right about now, ❞ scanlan all but grumbles to himself, but he shakes off the adrenaline as quickly as he’d disposed of his fear of falling to his death. after all, surely his buddy vax would catch him again.
she hiccups as she lays down on the floor of one of the many sitting rooms in castle whitestone , her hand falling to her stomach . well , to her armor . & it’s so hot , she needs to take this armor off . why does she go drinking with her armor on , anyway ? oh right - hiccup - because they were attacked at every opportunity possible . she pulls off one of her gauntlets . hiccup . she pulls off her other gauntlet . better . so much better already . hiccup . where was vax ? wasn’t he just right next to her ? she looks over & watches him lithely lay down next to her . she’d sworn he’d drunk just as much as she had . how did he do that so gracefully ? she might cry , he moves so beautifully sometimes . ❝ vax ! that was beautiful ! ten out of ten ! ❞ she claps happily before she starts to take off one of her vambraces . ❝ hey - when the room stops spinning , can you give me - hiccup - fun buns ? ❞
@daggere asked: [ JOIN ] receiver is laying on the floor/ground for some reason and sender simply joins them. (for pickle!)
& plotted starter for @daggere :
SHE MOVES LIKE THE NIGHT, in shadows of a city she knows so little of, and all for an assignment she’s loathe to take – target coveted by not only her own Guild, but opposition too, rendering an agreement of cooperation she doesn’t trust even slightly. Unspoken, that crime runs rampant within the land ( and all for the sake of a filled purse of gold ) – this new Monarch who had sworn a river of blood with new laws against crime lords, bounty hunters, and assassins alike, earning himself a target on his back and a reward offered by almost every corrupt soul in the cities abound to bring him down, a prize she seeks to claim for the small organisation she calls family. And so contract had been made with their own rivals, that they might send their own deadliest assassin to work with her, and split a reward they both might reap in the end.
And yet, Celaena Sardothien does not play well with others.
Hood of black covers golden hair as she makes her way towards agreed safe house, daggers strapped and hidden within every inch of her leather suit. It won’t be dawn for several hours yet, and she’s determined not to be seen in her journey from Rifthold, horse long since stolen and abandoned. She’s out of her comfort zone like this – working with a stranger means neutral safe houses, means neutral accommodations and compromises that she normally never has to make, and she loathes it already.
Still, she slips through the back entrance of the building, cloak lowered, to meet her temporary partner with the quirk of a brow.
“They couldn’t have given us something nicer to meet in than an abandoned cabin?”
@daggere murmured : [ brush ] (for vex, from daggere!) prompts - accepting.
they certainly squabbled, though vex'ahlia trusted no one else to tend to her braids. she's sitting, slouched forward slightly while trinket rested beside them both. vax is behind her, currently running a small comb through the tangled mess of her hair. as he works through some of her knots, she can't help but grumble quietly — reaching back to swat at him if he tugged a little too hard.
❝ we're due for a nice, relaxing day, ❞ vex'ahlia muses after a moment, furtively wishing for a pleasant hot spring or something equally as luxurious. ❝ whitestone could use something a little more extravagant. imagine a hot spring beneath the castle — for our exclusive use, no less. ❞ she tilts her head all the way back to look up at her brother, ❝ doesn't that sound lovely? ❞
@daggere murmured : ❛ nothing was ever easy , but maybe that’s the beauty of it . ❜ (for vex!) prompts - accepting.
she knows that he's trying to be philosophical, but it leaves a weird taste in her mouth. instead, she reaches over to swat at him with the back of her hand, pointedly staring up at him.
❝ something being easy wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, ❞ vex'ahlia grumps back at her brother, ❝ i'm tired of everything being so difficult. when do we get to relax? when do we get time for ourselves? ❞ she scrubs a hand over her face in the hopes of lightening her spirits, ❝ i find it hard to believe that the world would fall apart if something was handed to us from time to time. is that so unreasonable? ❞
@daggere murmured : [ braid ] vax to vex prompts - accepting.
he's sitting behind her, legs crossed. vex leans back slightly to allow him ease of access; perhaps once she might have pretended that allowing her brother to tend to her hair was something of a chore — though now, in the light of everything that had happened to them thus far... she merely enjoys it. his brushwork is light; practiced. they'd helped each other countless times before. there was a definite comfort in the practice itself. no matter where they were, what they were doing — those braids, those feathers were their constant with one another.
❝ it's your turn next, ❞ vex'ahlia hums after a moment, reaching back to pat at vax'ildan's knee with her left hand. her voice is soft, yet rings with an amused, teasing note. ❝ while we were walking, i'm certain i saw a few twigs caught in your hair. you're starting to look like keyleth. ❞
