The Introvertās Greatest Nightmare šš
POV: Youāre at a party, your social battery is at 2%, and suddenly the person carrying the conversation leaves. Now youāre standing there with the only other introvert in the room, and the silence is so loud you can hear your own thoughts screaming. Someone has to step up. Someone has to ask about the weather or a favorite hobby. Suddenly, youāre the one doing the heavy lifting, and youāve never felt more like a fish out of water. Itās the ultimate character arcāfrom wallflower to reluctant spokesperson in sixty seconds flat. šā”ļø

Fibromyalgia
Iāve been lying in bed for an hour, trying to get up. My brain feels spongy, and Iāve no drive to get out of bed. But IĀ knowĀ that I'm supposed to get up and start my day.
Iāll do it now, I think. I donāt feel too bad.
Ā I stretch my arms and make the first movements. As I do, the fatigue wakes up along with my body.
Ā Perhaps fatigue is the wrong word to use. Anyone whoĀ knowsĀ will know what I mean by it. But anyone whoās never lived with chronic pain will get the wrong idea. Itāll make them think of something much lighter, that can be shrugged off with a good night's rest. The fatigue that Iām talking about feels like thereās dry rot in my body. The rot seems to spread every time I move, and my body shrinks away from the thought of carrying itself through the few things that IĀ haveĀ to do in my pared-back day.
It takes me twenty more minutes before I can finally throw the covers off and get up. And thatās just the start of my day.
The Bedtime Paradox
Currently living in a 90-degree room but cocooned in a heavy duvet because if one (1) toe is exposed to the air, the sleep demons win. šÆļøš„ Itās a literal internal battle between "I am melting into the mattress" and "I need the weight of a thousand suns to feel secure." Why are we like this? Why is the blanket a sacred shield that overrides all biological thermal regulation? Just Elmo in the pits of despair, but make it cozy.
