I have theory. Each of the diamonds has a different way for their aura to spread, plus physical contact. White - rays. Yellow - sparks. Blue - seems to be similar to liquid. Logic dictates that Steven can transfer his through a gas emanating from him. This provides evidence for something in my AU
I forgot to mention how this would probably allow Steven to communicate telepathically & read some of the thoughts of people who breath in this gas, which would clearly be pink
