The worst chains are those that our own minds have created to bind us, because although this Dairokuten is pretty nice, at this point Mara is so iconic that anything less phallic would be outrageous.
Mara may be iconic, but in such a way that he's an albatross. He's actually an interesting figure, but SMT will never attempt to adapt him to his fuller potential so long as the expectation of the Same Joke is present in players' (and devs') minds. He's a phallic shackles. However, incorporating an alternate form of his, like Dairokuten, would allow a "have their cake and eat it, too" situation where Atlus could still keep the Green Girthy Same Joke for the expectations-- and add a new form with which they could do something more meaningful with Buddhist cosmology. You know, please everyone. It's possible!
