Timeline/AU spinoff of REPEAT?_Verse {x}
(These specific excerpts were written by May 6, 2022)
Originally, this kind of "concluding" scene
was meant to conclude Koushiro's Arc
("IGNORANCE"), of "Chosen of Faith",
coming around halfway exactly through the full fic,
after a Takeru's Arc, Jou's Arc, Mimi's Arc,
and a belatedly decided-on Ken's Mini-Arc
{it was originally planned in a "reverse" of "typical"
"Crests [placement]/['official'] order" beginning with Light};
my much earlier original 'verse featuring my 02 FDDs.
Ken's Arc was decided on {+actually 'finished'!!} after I realized I wanted to expand upon Daisuke's storyline a bit,
but didn't feel I had enough material to justify a full arc for Ken;
Meanwhile, Daisuke's (POV) story becomes more and more involved and developed as a whole by the end of Koushiro's Arc especially,
and Ken becomes more involved by that point on in a general sense in the later story anyway, as a huge support to Daisuke both on team and "from afar" / whenever they're seemingly "separated".
"Chosen of Faith" can also be considered as a prequel timeline to
"REPEAT?_Verse", even if not the immediate prequel,
as there are many, many prequel concepts I've thought of since.

Decided to make some merfolk thanks to @brynwrites
Presenting, from The Flower on the High Peak: Keisuke and Daishiro!
In actuality Keisuke is a kitsune and Daishiro is a bear yokai. And, unfortunately this does not in any way shape or form do justice to the size difference between Keisuke and Daishiro. But oh well! (you have no idea how many extra locks of hair I had to put on Keisuke)
I was tagged by @brynwrites. I'm posting what I wrote in our cabin convo with a little more explanation.

What is/are the most defining parts of your main character(s) appearance(s)? (Bonus points if there’s a story behind them or they have direct connection to the character’s personality.)
Rapunzel’s Main Characters
Keisuke's got 80 feet of thick, black hair. It got this long because while he was locked up in his tower he would measure time by laying his hair down the stairs and seeing how far it got. He stopped doing this once it got longer than he could see. He also has two black tails and black fox ears that stick up from his head, as well as a magical flame (kitsunebi) that likes to bob around him and cause mischief. He wears bright, feminine clothes and can usually be found barefoot. He also has bite scars on his neck from being fed from his whole life (which is around 600 years).
Daishiro is 6 ft 5 inches and built like a mountain - a similar body type would be Maui. He can also shapeshift into a 1000 pound black moon bear with a thick neck ruff - they think his extremely large size is due to his brown bear ancestry. He works as a perimeter guard for his sleuth’s territory. He's stoic and has a tendency to speak in clipped, monotonous sentences because he doesn't want to waste energy. Some people think he's being rude but once you know him for a while you realize that he's actually very attentive and is constantly listening but doesn't feel it's necessary to embellish his speech or do more than he has to to get his point across.

Notes:
- it’s not quite a Bad End but it’s not exactly the best outcome either
- I originally got ideas from the initial previews for Bokura no Mirai
- obviously none of those happened
- if it’s not obvious enough, Koushiro is basically writing a quick program to warp and Rewrite the Digital Worlds’ coding. He moves so fast/swiftly because he’s already been through numerous timelines by this point, and is either
a) subconsciously aware or b) not subconsciously, but hyper-aware
{depending on which ‘verse/spinoff scenarios this scene Repeats within}
- thus yeah these are psuedo-deaths [non permanent];
they don’t literally die
{at least Koushiro himself definitely doesn’t in this scene}
- look I’m sorry but if Koushiro fell from such a height, at such a speed, into the kind of place like Taichi fell into {it’s uh kind of replaced with maybe a certain Dark Cave here except 02-style; see: Chapter 11, City}, he’d be banged up too
- Koushiro may be skilled by this point but he can’t stop everything
- Koushiros’ true aim is to solve the {alternative/timeline splits?} mystery that they’ve possibly got thrown into, so he has a ways to go still; along the way, he’s coming to terms mentally with his own situation while bearing the weight of it all
- this bit attempts to explain the canonical timeline gap between
Spring 2003 [02 drama CD] ~ April 2005 [Tri start; Saikai]
- I really miss my old website / 02 fic and really just want to write Daisuke {02 fav} helping Koushiro during a high stakes moment and them both acknowledging each other[s’/strengths] in turn

- In the end this bit is more of a series of AU ideas that weren’t really supposed to happen in the main timeline of the fic, but I do like to think at least some version of Koushiro came across Daisuke at some point;

(it’s fine to read my stuff if you just didn’t care for tri but if you actively hate Tri!Koushiro you probably won’t like my stuff involving Tri!Koushiro. sorry)
