Daisy Birthing Stories Part 5
So to finish off this series of birth stories, here is just a selection of generally lovely stories to read! I am so proud of all of the mums in my classes. Having a baby is such an amazing experience and I am so lucky I get to share your pregnancy journey with you.
Nina's story....
I went into spontaneous labour at home in the early hours of Wednesday morning when my waters broke at 37 weeks! After arriving at the hospital at about 1:15am in the morning I used lots of rotate to dilate movements to help my contractions to start. By about 3:15am I was 8cm dilated and had had no pain medication, after a little bit of gas and air to help me through the last few contractions I gave birth to our beautiful baby boy at 4:12am on Wednesday morning weighing a small 5lb 6oz!
Although I didn't have long to put everything we did in class into practice, I still used the rotating and the breathing techniques which I believe helped me make it as far as 9cm before giving into a few puffs of the gas and air! Overall I had a fantastic birth experience. Thank you for all your help in classes and I wish the other ladies all the best."
Emma's story...
"Just to let you know our beautiful little girl, arrived at 6:45 on Sunday morning, weighing 5lbs 8oz and extra special as she was born in her own membrane, which is really rare.
I wasn't quite expecting her to arrive as quickly as she did. I was on my baby shower on Saturday afternoon when the contractions started. Hubby thought i'd just eaten something a bit rich. We went to hospital at 11pm on Saturday and the 3 of us returned home at 6pm on Sunday! The whole experience was amazing. I don't remember a lot as the relaxation techniques worked so well, in fact for the first 4 hours Jon and my mum said I didn't even open my eyes but when I was fully dilated I was wide awake! I was 4cm dilated when i arrived, the midwives didn't need to examine me again during my labour as I listened to my body and knew when I was ready to bear down. They only checked for her heart rate which was fine throughout. The bearing down breath was a great focus and the senior midwife loved it! I didn't use any pain relief and giving birth squatting in the bathroom they expected me to tear badly but everything was fine. The midwives were wowed by the techniques and said they found it very emotional to watch us all work together. All I can say is my birth was wonderful, our baby is calm and happy and I couldn't have done it without your instruction! It couldn't have gone any better. Thank you so much. I can't wait to bring my little princess to baby daisy classes (and I'll miss my Wednesday relaxation this week!) "
Of course I haven't been able to include everyone's story this time as there are just so many, but please do keep sharing your wonderful stories with us :)
