It kind of baffles me that Alora wasn't punished for her crimes but Dak'Rah was. I don't know if it was because Dak'Rah was a Klingon man whereas Alora is an alien woman who can almost pass for human, but the double-standards rubbed me the wrong way, especially since as a woman, said double-standards felt kinda condescending and reeked of benevolent sexism. Nothing wrong with female villains also facing repercussions for their crimes because to me that is gender equality.

"I liked Under the Cloak of War but the ending left the most bitter taste in my mouth. I related more to Chapel and M'Benga's antagonism of the Klingon ambassador when it was pictured as everyday people being absolutely sure that a relevant public figure had done something wrong but unable to prove it. Who hasn't experienced it, these days? But all that went away when they turned M'Benga into a secret super assassin with first-hand knowledge whose answer for the problem of the bad guy was, once again, killing."
