Hey naia. What a pretty name. It's a shame i never heard it before i met you, but i guess it's ok bc youre unique. I really like how it feels when I wash my hair, don't you? I love scrub a dub dubbing in between my hairs and running my fingers through my beautiful nappiness and making sure soap gets in every nook and cranny. It's so cool how something that's good for you also feels good. What's your favorite part of good hygiene?

omg this made me so happy you make me so happy idk why this question makes me happy BUT i love brushing my teeth and sometimes i pretend my teeth are fossils and i’m an archaeologist and i’m using the brush to uncover and polish them all! and i also love putting on my essential oil mix after i take a shower because it smells amazing and i can put it on my whole body, from my hair to my face to the rest of my body AND it gives me a chance to pay attention to and love and massage my whole body. AND I LOVE WASHING AND DETANGLING AND CONDITIONING MY HAIR IN THE SHOWER, and then fluffing it all out big when i’m done oh man being clean is so great

Hey, how are you and the fam? I heard NASAville's not doing well lately. Are you dry?

well i can’t speak for NASAville but THE SPACE CITY (at least my side of it) is doing okay. i had some strong winds, but no flooding despite all the rain we got. Mostly it was just rlly strong thunderstorms, which i hate, but nothing bad or lasting.

Today was the first day- in a VERY long time that I've felt so bad I didn't want to take a shower. I sat on the bathroom floor for 3 hours trying to get myself to unclothe and jump in. If it weren't for dakotacityukuleleorchestra texting me- idk if I would have taken a shower or not. But thank you. You made the difference today.

Side note: Should I post a selfie- yay or nay? I don't feel good today but maybe a selfie from last week??

Can you tell me the story of when you performed with Samuel Ascher-Weiss/Shnabubula? Where were you? What was he like? What did y'all play? How'd you feel? Did you know his music beforehand?

Haha, unfortunately there’s not much of a story because the entire memory is eclipsed by me constantly thinking “HOLY SHIT I GET TO PLAY WITH SHNABUBULA!!”Ok so I think this was MAGFest 8 at the Hilton Alexandria in VA, my first MAGFest. My buddy Brandon (if you’re on OCR much he went by Harmony). I already knew like 91% of the reason I was there was to jam with OCR friends and other vgm musicians I admired so like on my way to JamSpace I saw this guy sitting at a piano in the hallway near all the merch dealers just playin his ass off. It took me a minute but there was Sam right there in front of me lol! I recognized his playing before I recognized him, even. So a bunch of us sat there and listened for a while before heading over to JamSpace together and playing 2 or 3 tunes there. Again, I was too hype to even remember what we played but it was a blast lol. Like, I felt amazing! It's just incredible how talented he is and how easily he puts melodic ideas together. I've listened to tons of pianists and the way he plays, at least to me, is so unique to him. It's like every phrase he plays could be a song all it's own. It's damn near magical but he's so chill about it all! He didn’t say much but he smiled a lot when he did talk to folks lol.Oh, I dunno if you know Peter Kim/Melody from OCR but that was the first time I met him too and we actually JUST started a project together about a month back. The ultimate goal is to be on mainstage for next years MAGFest but we might actually be playing the upcoming DC Cherry Blossom Festival too.

1 - The meaning behind my URL: It's the taino words i'naru' (spirit of woman/Spirited woman) and ri (strength/value) put together. Essentially, I am a strong woman, a woman of value, or I am a valueable woman or women are strong, the spirit of women are strong- lots of ways to understand and translate it- all of them messages I 100% believe in.

3 - Last time I cried and why? on the 10th because I realized that I totally blew off the person I love who was finally ready to actually take me out on a date and I just fucked it all up by being anti-social that day. I felt so bad. I still feel really freaking bad.

4 - Favorite band: Honestly- Sigur Ros keeps me put together.

5 - One place I’d love to go: The answer is always back to my island, back to PR. But for visiting short term - idk... DR seems nice.

6 - Tattoos I want: In color: I want a watermark behind my ear of the Taino sun, a stingray on the back of my neck, the night vale eye on my pelvis with the taino coqui inside of it.

8 - What are you excited about? That I lost ten pounds in 4 weeks.

9 - Idea of a perfect date? I hate these type of questions, because I've never been on a date and they seem really awkward to me.

10 - Life goals?  Not being broke and poor and struggling my whole life is just about it. And one day being the best parent in the world. That's my life goals.

11 - Piercing I want: Two more ear piercings and an eyebrow piercing on the left eye brow.

13 - Favorite movie? My Name is Khan. Because it is the most intersectional, beautiful, makes you wanna cry your soul out and hug the fuck out of Khan and protect him from all the world's islamphobes, racists, ableists and general assholes while grieving with him and his wife type of movie. I will ALWAYS rep this movie.

14 - A fact about my life? I am living with an emotionally abusive woman (my aunt). I do not eat regularly and it is applauded. I have been sick since the end of October and I strongly believe it is entirely my aunt's fault.
