Sorry, but the one thing that pisses me off more than anything is the insistence that because I am engaged to a man I am straight or that I can't be bi because I "don't look bi", to the point of being told what I identify as. No, you fucker. I'm a bi cis woman who chose to settle with a straight cis man and I will literally steal your partner out of spite.

FUCK THOSE FUCKS but that is an excellent response!!! Folks get so tied up in only viewing sexuality as an act rather than a capacity and then bend over backwards to invalidate our identities and experiences because it doesn't fit in with THEIR experiences and it's SO FRUSTRATING. Also, jfc, the "don't look bi" is something I deal with a LOT and it never stops hurting. ESPECIALLY when they're like "no, I see as more of a [insert sexuality that i am not]" like, really, cause I see see you as a grade A tool but I'm polite enough to keep  it to myself?

I really don't even get it--what is bisexuality even supposed to look like? Sorry I'm not dressed head to toe in pink, purple and blue and waving flags in your face and that you get confused so easily that you need constant outward identity markers to give basic respect to folks you refuse to even try and understand? 

Biphobes are nonsensical and i refuse to engage. 

I'm proud of you for sticking to your guns and refusing to take shit :3

I depart for USMC boot camp on 27 Jan 2014.

I know, you're toooootally sad right now and don't know how you're going to go on, but fear not! You're only free of my condescending ass for thirteen weeks, after which I will return for ten days, then make another post when it's time for me to leave for another 25 days, after which I am back for good.

"But...what will happen to your blog?"

Simple. I'm going on hiatus. During my time in boot (and the following MCT), clicking on my page will lead you to a hiatus theme. You can leave encouragement in my askbox, peruse through the archive (possibly) if you miss me that much, or conveniently forget that I left until I come back. Either one works for me.

You could also follow my Marine Corps blog, which will be run by Sadie in my absence, and updated via letter from me (The goal of the blog is to write down someone's experience in boot camp as it happens for the purposes of allowing someone a glimpse into USMC boot camp as much as possible without violating OPSEC, thus the letter updates).

This message will be queued to post twice a day until the 5th of February.
