Abslom Daak, Dalek Killer!
Hiya, Tumblr! Long time, no see! Haven't posted here in a long time, and thought I would start again. Here's a drawing of Abslom Daak, who we all know in a big fan of (beard added because, well, I felt he needed one).
Hope everyone is doing alright during the current apocalypse.
And while I'm posting books I love here are my fave comics. The collected Panini version of Doctor Who: Voyager is definitely my favourite graphic novel. A crazy adventure through time and space with a shapeshifter stuck as a penguin. Classic 2000AD and Marvel vibes. Second on my list is Absalom Daak: Dalek Killer which is just straight up hardcore.
The Thirteenth Doctor, Leela, and Abslom Daak giving some Daleks a bad day. Be sure to click on the picture, Tumblr compressed the hell out of this one's preview.
Drawn and lettered in Autodesk Sketchbook and Medibang Paint on my now-dying Galaxy Note 3.
Team Murder Everything ( thanks, @gen-is-gone) can never decide where to eat. All of time and space gives you too many choices. I'm all for Panda Express, personally. Thirteen, Leela, and Abslom Daak aren't going anywhere. I'm having too much fun.
DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DAAK ... ABSLOM DAAK, THAT IS.
Created by the sorely-missed Steve Moore & Steve Dillon, Abslom Daak (a.k.a. Dalek Killer) first appeared within the pages of Doctor Who Magazine in February 1980, before being ‘canonised’ thanks to his brief appearance (on-screen) in the Doctor Who Season 8 episode Time Heist.
But did you hear about the time he met the Eleventh Doctor? Because he did - and that leads us to another ...
DOCTOR WHO: THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR YEAR TWO #1 & 2 Writers: Si Spurrier & Rob Williams Artist: Simon Fraser Colorist: Gary Caldwell
Once again the Doctor finds himself trapped, and having to account for his actions ...
He ends up being rescued by an unlikely friend who knows him from a previous time - or is that a previous time war?
The Doctor, Alice & The Squire escape to the TARDIS, only to find another old friend waiting - ABSLOM DAAK!
Daak quickly brings us up to speed on his back-story and character ...
... while the Doctor, still plagued by the words of his captors, begins to question himself.
Gone, but not forgotten, it seems the spectre of the War Doctor still hangs over his head ...
Which is sadly lost on Daak, who would prefer to eat the Doctor’s bow tie than dwell on past mistakes!
But what happens next? Does the Doctor get a new bow tie? Will Daak end up with indigestion as a result of his poor dietary habits? You’ll have to read to find out.
