CABOCHON [DALHOUS] BRICK REDS, BLACK MAUVES [SELF-TITLED EP, 2019]
November 23, 2019: a new episode of The Anatomy Lesson at 11pm EST on CFRC 101.9fm. A short illness from which he never recovered. A tribute to Blackest Ever Black, the London-based label that is shutting down very soon after 9 years of putting out some of my favourite music. Without Blackest Ever Black, I never would have heard Tropic of Cancer, Raime, Carla Dal Forno, Black Rain, Regis, Secret Boyfriend and so many others. Record labels like this still how value in this day and age,an alternative to the hegemony of the algorithmic and focus-tested. Tune in at 101.9 on your FM dial, stream at http://audio.cfrc.ca:8000/listen.pls or listen to a special extra-long archive here: https://www.mixcloud.com/cameronwillis1232/the-anatomy-lesson-november-23-2019/
