Also tf do I do with this grass? It will not stay buried in the substrate, there's no roots to bury. I have them weighed (kinda) down and they still float with the weight attached. Idk man, hopefully it lives.

Haven’t posted in a bit. Here’s Mr. Flare-at-everything.

Man I feel so bad for not paying this blog too much attention these past few months. There’s just been a lot of other stuff going on in my life rn so this blog’s been put on the backburner.
And I’m leaving for China in a few days so I won’t be active until the first full week of June. Not looking forward to leaving my tanks at home for 3.5 weeks with my fam; they don’t know anything about fish care. This guy would probably be the only survivor if I don’t leave instructions or Skype every few days. Cthulhu’s a toughie, been with me for over a year and as been through four tanks and severe fin biting/fin rot. And he’s still adorable. <3

The ‘edge’ you can see in his caudal fin (and even the others if you look closely) is how short his fins used to be. He’s now about two years old.
And my apologies for the graininess, my 20D was sold to me without a body cap so who knows how much dust is in it. Will be getting it cleaned soon.

Practicing those flares! Not a 100% flare but pretty close. Cthulhu will flare at literally EVERYTHING that gets put up against the glass. He’s ridiculous.
Well, this is a surprise. Cthulhu is actually a...Halfmoon. Wow. Kind of a special discovery as I bought him exactly a year ago. He was listed as a veiltail at a Petsmart, but one look and I knew he was at least a delta. So not only did I get him for very cheap, now that he’s fully grown and fully flaring, he’s actually a halfmoon!!! Up until now I suppose he’s been doing half-assed flares, but that top picture confirms the halfmoon. I’m so glad to have bought him, he’s been a joy to keep so far and I love him so much. Never have I ever kept a fish that I have loved and cared for and gone through so much with. He is such a special boy to me. <3
Back of the monster...Because his name’s Cthulhu which is some weird god-monster...meh...
Cthulhu’s fins have re-grown to a length of over 1 cm and they’re still going! Really happy about that.
