I feel like this website has lots of goldfish fans. Just a gentle reminder to please research the space needs of pets before you get them. Goldfish get big, can live for quite a few years, and are heavy waste producers so need a stronger filter. Also plecos are usually sold very small like 2 inches and they do not stay that size at all.
We've had Spike, our pleco, for close to 10 years now and it's 10 inches long. Our fancy goldfish Monster we've had for 5, Goldie has been around for nearly 2, and our baby Mosaic we've had for about 3 months.
So please remember that petstores absolutely do not sell only products that are safe for pets. Fish bowls and really pretty much any fish tank under 10 gallons are inhumane unless it's shrimp. I have never seen even bare minimum size enclosures for birds and rodents at petco or petsmart. Wire bar enclosures are not safe for rodents and most of the wheels are dangerous.
I am begging people to please research first before you even look at animals and do not think that just because the petstores are selling it or even recommending it to you that is safe and reasonably sized.
Also fishtanks are very hard to get good photos of.
