I love how it's very clear that out of all the eliatrope dofus Echo could've been with, she just happens to hold Yugo and Adamai's in this one poster for the manga.
And it makes PERFECT SENSE.
The main antagonist of this poster is Jiva, who made a bigger presence in the manga situated between Season 2 and the ovas.
So during the time when Oropo wasn't created yet, Echo is seen smiling ominously while holding Yugo and Adamai's dofus. Of all the dofus she could be holding (or none at all), she chose Yugo's?
HMMMMM INTERESTING
babe is missing her man way before he was even born lol
Ok, but the real question is, is the little nub on Echo's backside a tuft of hair she usually gets when she transforms, or does she really have an honest to God tail?
I redid them, old redesigns below ⬇️
didn't change much about bb, just changed his pose and added/changed some stuff, eg giving his staff a more key like silhouette(?) cuz y'know, secrecy and stuff
Changed Echo majorly, made her resemble the egare a lot more ( @kittycatdraws29 thanks for the idea and fun fact)
@saturnyukaa echo...,👀
sketches of dame echo because i was REALLY mad
can you do reader x dame echo?
I gotcha I'm doing it right now :>
OK! so I finished it! yay!! if you'd like one a bit more explicit let me know Ive got it covered, or just anything else in general!
Dame echo x reader
Among The Echos
The citadel is quiet when you find her. but that isn’t unusual silence seems to follow dame echo like a cloak.
You’ve learned the rhythm of her presence by now: where she drifts when the halls feel too crowded with oropo’s schemes, the way her shadow always appears on the balcony at dusk. Today is no different.
“You disappear like smoke,” you tell her softly as you approach, your voice sounding too loud in the vast chamber.
Her head turns, pale eyes catching the fractured light. “And you always follow,” she replies, her tone low and deliberate.
You shrug, moving to stand beside her. “Someone has to.”
A flicker of amusement ghosts across her lips, there and gone.
For a while, the two of you just look out over the ruins. The shattered sky stretches forever, pieces of whole worlds drifting just out of reach. You never get used to the way it feels endless and broken at the same time.
Finally, she speaks. “This place remembers more than we do.”
you glance at her. “What do you mean?”
“The stones keep their echoes,” she explains, running her hand over the railing. “Arguments. Laughter. Prayers. Every word said here still lingers, whether we hear them or not.” She pauses. “I spent years listening.”
You swallow, unsure what to say to that. “Doesn’t it hurt?”
Echo’s gaze sharpens, as though you’ve surprised her. “Sometimes. but it’s worse to forget. Worse to believe nothing mattered.”
Her voice carries a weight you rarely hear. Each word seems chosen, set carefully into place. You wonder how long it’s been since she allowed herself to speak this much.
“And you?” she asks suddenly, turning her eyes on you. “Would you rather hear the echoes, or nothing at all?”
You take your time answering, matching her gravity. “If i had the choice? i’d rather hear. Even if it hurts. At least then i’d know it was real.”
Her expression barely softens, but you catch it. “That is why i…” she stops, searching for the right words. “Why I keep you close.”
Your chest tightens. “Because i don’t let you forget?”
“Because you make the silence bearable,” she corrects gently.
The admission lodges itself in your heart, warm and heavy.
You reach for her hand where it rests on the stone. She doesn’t pull away. Instead, she threads her fingers through yours, slow but certain.
“Do you ever regret staying here?” you ask after a long moment.
Echo’s eyes drift back to the horizon. “regret…” she repeats, as if tasting the word. “I regret many things. But not this. Not you.”
The words are so direct, so unflinching, you almost forget how to breathe.
Silence settles between you again, but it feels different now thicker, fuller, filled with things neither of you need to say.
Eventually she leans closer, her shoulder brushing yours. “The others think i keep my distance,” she murmurs. “That i’m only a shadow of their voices... But i am not absent.” she squeezes your hand, firm, grounding. “Not with you.”
You rest your head against her shoulder, the fabric of her cloak cool beneath your cheek.
For a while, you both just stand there, listening to the broken world breathe around you. You realize.. she has never spoken more to anyone than she does to you.
Analysis of Wakfu and Yugo’s character:
Honestly, had it been given a more cohesive platform, Wakfu could’ve fucking slapped
Due to the whole story needing to be consumed via show, comics, webtoons, games and OVAs, a lot of it gets jumbled or rushed, making the story inconsistent with its quality and themes and leaving a lot of consumers in the dark due to not knowing critical context. But the actual concept? Absolutely amazing
A boy who’s sent on a journey of finding his real family, discovering he comes from dragons and gods. And not just any dragons or gods: the creators of the goddamn UNIVERSE. (A fact I consider to be incredibly underutilized honestly)
And as he comes into his powers the challenges and the trials become more and more dangerous and more and more and complex, he follows his moral code, despite the nuance of the situation. He’s incapable of changing who he is and what he must do. And it leads to him playing god, an act with consequences that are repeatedly foretold to destroy the world. But it didn’t matter how many times people warned him, he NEEDED to save his friend from Ogrest, he NEEDED to keep the Dofus, he NEEDED to stay to fight the Necromes, he NEEDED to share the Mechasm heart’s power. All these actions may have consequences that are devastating but not to take said actions would have been a betrayal of his character, a fundamental change in who he is. He can’t see the bigger picture like Echo, he can’t fully grasp the consequences like Toross, he can’t detach himself like Adamaï. He can only act in the moment to do what he thinks is right, and now the world is going to flood and thousands will die.
Absolutely incredible
Semi-quick Echo thing
