Ok do we agree that qilby essentially groomed adamai/ allowed anathar to s/a her in a sense right. I’m not crazy i swear

First off, since possession is an unwilling invasion of a body, and a violation of autonomy, and adamai was possessed while unconscious after being beaten to within an inch of her life, she obviously couldn’t give consent, nor would she want to after finding out what qilby planned to do. Also she seemed very weak after breaking free of anathar. This reminds me of S/A, which is typically a power trip. Autonomy is stripped from the victim, and their body is invaded in one way or another. No consent is given, and it works similarly to an unwilling posession. Possessions are also typically used to imply S/A in lots of media, so as to not get censored (but some brave ones basically shour in your face what it is, a la obsession, i fucking love that movie.) I don’t think it was intentional on ankama’s part since they never address it, but adamai’s autonomy and body was violated, leaving her weak and injured (which, typically, if a s/a is violent, can leave physical injuries and lead to traumatic physical injuries, though the increased cortisol productions from the brain can lead to disability later [coughs. Me. Fml] and end up causing bodily harm in that way.) additionally, since assault triggers adrenaline (i think) once the adrenaline leaves the body, you can feel light headed and tired, not to mention if the assaulter is stronger then you, which anathar obviously is, as adamai was injured from both qilby’s beating and anathar’s possession in general.

and with the thing about qilby grooming adamai, from what i can tell, adamai has central figures in her life, at first it was grougal, the only other person she knew. She trusts them like no other, and seems to idolize them. With qilby, she’s constantly asking him for advice and talking with him, following him wherever he asks and not questioning his word unless it was breaking rules. She didn’t even doubt him until he states outright what he wanted to do, even when she sees his weird conservation pods. In this aspect, she clearly has a TON of respect for qilby, and there is a clear power dynamic, as she perceives him as a king and a wiser party. Grooming is not an inherently sexual act, and can be done semi-intentionally. Qilby was trying to groom adamai into agreeing with him, which honestly, reminds me of how certain individuals (cough, maga) raise their kids into their cults. Qilby is attempting to groom adamai into his ideology, and punishing her with violence when she rejects it. He takes away her bodily autonomy when he gives her to anathar, making her unable to make her own decisions, and making her powerless inside her own body, which has distorted around her. Qilby betrays adamai’s trust and removes her agency with the aid of anathar, and i’m not supposed to see it as an allegory for grooming and CSA???? Hello????? The sky is blue??? The grass is green???

anyway, this definitely is a factor in her BPD due to a favorite person (pillar of support and someone people with bpd idolize, basically someone you center your entire emotional wellbeing around [ITS HELL I HATE IT SO BAD]) betraying her in such a disgusting manner

The brotherhood of tofu is an awful friend group im sorry. For one, they’re exclusionary as fuck, especially with adamai, as she literally named the entire brotherhood, but she’s only used to win arguments and nothing else, and two, they’re just downright rude to eachother. Especially with how dally treats eva and how everyone else treats dally. You can see it when we meet cleome, they just start ragging on eva for trying to keep them in line. Don’t get me wrong, i know she’s fucked up at times, but there’s no need to basically flirt with her sister in front of her and stonewall her or just shittalk her. Like am i stupid or is that just not healthy… everyone just hates eachother, and honestly they don’t feel like a cohesive healthy friendgroup. Even with yugo, he’s just viewed as the baby of the group and thus isn’t ever either allowed or willing to be more except when he absolutely has to. People bend to his will and i just feel it’s extremely fucked up. Ruel has serious issues, i feel like i don’t even need to mention them, and amalia lashes out a ton. Dally gets them into danger constantly and then gets mad when it’s pointed out. It just feels like they’re only friends in name.
