Today's Sunday Portrait features Electra Burdain!

The older sister of Coleman Burdain and late great grandmother of Maverick Burdain, she is one of the founders of the Damgo Archipelago and the first Head Wizard of Turtle Haven. She was born a wizard in a town lost to time before having to flee during the peak of the Honey Society's oppression. Her family's patron animal is the glow squid. After establishing Turtle Haven, she traveled around the ocean where the archipelago floats above and established ties with Astoria. She was also a feared captain during the beginning of her Head Wizard days before she settled down in her later years.

Electra was skilled in hydromancy, a form of divination that is passed down in her family. She offered readings to her people and tourists, which became popular overseas. It's partially the reason why Turtle Haven is such a popular travel destination out of the other islands in the archipelago. She was also skilled in hydrokinesis, also passed down in her family.

After her death, she became one of the few people to ascend to godhood. Electra is presently known as the goddess of the sea and marine life. Every year during a festival, she makes her presence known in Turtle Haven as a giant glowing kraken which swims around slowly for about an hour before disappearing into the dark sea. Legend says that if she doesn't appear for that festival, it means that the seas will be rougher for the subsequent year.

Nuvola Rosa is the first island in the Damgo Archipelago to be created and founded by none other than Selenea Somnolento in 1827. The archipelago was created as a haven for magic-users who were being targeted by the Honey Society (a now-defunct military group established by the Bee Kingdom) and floats comfortably above an ocean.

Because of Selenea's connection to the moon, she established a place of worship for the moon during her time as Head Wizard.

In current day, Nuvola Rosa's High Wizard is Antony Wisp, who is also the Head Wizard of the archipelago. The moon church is led by a descendant of Selenea, Vega Somnolento.

Meetings between all of the high wizards occur here. The island specialises in glowberry farming as it was one of the easiest things to grow. While wizards mainly occupy Nuvola Rosa (as well as the rest of the archipelago), its population is extremely diverse in terms of species. Many of the permanent residents are either human, humanoid, or creatures. Everyone has a home, whether it's on (or in) solid ground or hanging freely from stone and dirt.
